Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My first visit to this amazing place was in October, 2019, and I was blown away by its beauty, comfort and tranquil location.
Following the easing of Covid 19 lockdown, we wanted to get away for a few days but not travel abroad.
The lockdown had been a particularly stressful time for us and living in London, we felt we needed to de-stress, relax and recharge, so returning again to Hill Top Farm would be perfect. As luck would have it, it was available for the weekend we wanted and we arrived here on Friday 31st July.
From the outside the farm was in full bloom and the location just as breathtaking as I remembered.
Inside was immaculate and we were really pleased to find the owners had paid great attention to covid measures with sanitiser stations throughout the accomodation, bathroom soaps have been replaced with antibacterial handwash and antibacterial sprays and wipes were left for us in the kitchen and dining areas. The bedrooms even have special laundry bags to place our bedlinen and towels when we depart.
The whole of this eleven bedroomed property is spacious and airy with plenty of social space and areas to relax which has made our experience here everything we wanted it to be whilst feeling totally relaxed and safe. We reluctantly return home tomorrow leaving with more great memories of this very special place.

We stayed at Hilltop Farm for the second time in July 2020. We were the first guests to arrive following the re-opening post-Covid. I just wanted to reassure everyone that Trish gave us every confidence she was following guidelines and had taken measures to make us all safe, including an abundance of hand sanitiser, extra cleaning and a disclaimer for us to sign to ensure we were following current government advice.

The weekend was as amazing as our first visit and I’m sure we’ll be back again. The property is vast with as much space as you could ever need and all the finishing touches of a luxurious property with a feeling of home too. Our multi-generation family was able to make the most of the amazing facilities which include a movie room, games room (we had a table tennis competition) and pool table. My son made the most of the huge lawn with a game of cricket. The kitchen is stocked with every utensil you could imagine, the panoramic views are outstanding and there are some fabulous places nearby to visit – we walked to the picturesque village of Askrigg.

Hilltop Farm really has the ‘wow’ factor and is ideal for a larger family gathering or a special occasion.

We have fallen in love with Hill Top Farm - and cannot wait for an opportunity to return!

Our accommodation was fabulous: very well appointed and beautifully decorated throughout and affording so much space in which to relax in comfort and enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings. The location is as beautiful and as peaceful as it is possible to imagine, deep in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, and within easy travelling distance from both Hawes and Aysgarth.

We visited during the second week of October. We were greeted upon arrival by our friendly and most helpful host, for whom nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was a spotlessly clean throughout (with complete and thorough attention to covid guidelines).

In summary, this is a perfect place to stay - for families, large groups or couples - even during these unprecedented times.

Our daughter and her friends stayed at Hill Top Farm over 10 years ago when it first became available for rental and has always commented on the excellent accommodation it provided. Well even after such a long time she (and we) were certainly not disappointed for this as the choice for our 50th Wedding Anniversary Family Celebration !

The quality and size of every room at Hill Top is outstanding with a great flexiblity of en-suites and bathrooms to cover our family of 8 adults and 4 grandchildren. Everone loved the pool table, juke box, games, gym and cinema rooms and outdoor chess which kept us all entertained throughout our fantastic stay.

During this time we were visited via day trips by other friends and family and were able to take advantage of the fine weather sitting and eating outside in the large garden and patio areas. They were all equally impressed by the outstanding accommodation at Hill Top Farm.

The location of the farm is perfect with fantastic views from every room and is in very easy reach of Aysgarth Falls, Hawes and Leyburn and a number of walks close by.
As other recommendations our daughter was able to book the Aysgarth Falls Hotel for Sunday Lunch where we were offered a private room and cakes and pastries for our celebrations at Tiers and Sprinkles in Leyburn and Bake Well in Aysgarth. On our day of departure we all had breakfast at Berrys Farm Shop which was very nice.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Trish for her great help and hospitality in making our celebrations so memorable and will take every opprtunity to recommend Hill Top Farm to all our friends when we tell them about the very enjoyable time we spent there.

Our recent stay at Hilltop farm meant our family could finally all get together for a well earned holiday in a fabulous location. The house with its spacious rooms and it’s brilliant facilities of games room, cinema room and bar area, has something for everyone. Trish was most welcoming and very accommodating of our specific needs with a variety of age groups and interests. The house’s perfect location meant the children were very safe and enjoyed the freedom to run around and play whilst the bikers in the group loved the opportunity for new challenging rides around the local dales. the kitchen area is the heart of the house and a fabulous entertaining space for all the family. We enjoyed lots of family walks and picnics, trips to the Ribbledale viaduct, Ingleborough caves, Bolton castle and alpaca walking at Semer water were just some of the local attractions that we enjoyed for a fun filled week. Thank you Tricia and team

We have just returned from our 3rd stay at Hilltop Farm, this time I was celebrating my 40th Birthday with 19 of my friends and family. The accommodation was fantastic, the party was a mixture of adults and children age 10-45 and there was something for everyone. The location allows you to be flexible with local walks and pubs, whilst the lodge and surrounding area has so much on offer you never have to leave the lodge. Trish the owner was so accommodating and was available when needed, replying immediately when I contacted her with queries. We all love Hilltop and will return again soon!

We had booked Hill Top Farm a year ago and weren't we glad we did! Not just because of Covid, but because it turned out to be perfect for a big family get together. The pictures really don't do it justice. The facilities are amazing and the size of the place a real surprise. With both adults and children the space was perfect - for example, one dining room for them and one for the adults (the 10 seater round table).
A great welcome on arrival, Trish then showed us around and was genuinely interested in doing everything she could to make sure our stay was a success. Given that we also had amazing weather for the wee, it was that and more. Don't think about it, book it!

I am one of the few people who can say they have stayed in the original Hill Top Farm when it was a farm- My late wife was born there. This experience of staying at the new Hill Top Farm was incredible. The attention to detail shown by Trish was without doubt 'above and beyond'. The accommodation is superb and can only be matched by a sunset in the Dales on a spring evening.
This must be the ideal place to get the family together for that special occasion. My family will be doing that for a wedding in 2022.
Trish- Thank you for looking after me so well and making a very nostalgic return very pleasant.

After a long wait to visit Hilltop Farm I was not disappointed. I arrived in beautiful sunshine which made the journey like an adventure. Drove by the Ribblehead Viaduct on my way from Ingleton Falls enroute to the farm to make the most of my short stay. A must on your list of places to visit when you stay. Easy to find and it caught my eye as i drove down the lane . Plenty of parking and the gardens are beautifully kept. This place is truly loved by the owners and want their guests to love it too.
You make your entrance into an enormous kitchen with an Aga making it cosy and inviting, fresh flowers, couple of bottles wine, chocolates and popcorn for the kids if you have a film night in the well stocked cinema.

All the bedrooms are large and tastefully decorated all with en suite. Loads of room to spread around this sprawling property both in and out.

Venturing out into the Dales we did a couple of fab walks, one from Bainbride over to Semerwater Water which was lovely and another walk in Hawes taking in Hardraw Force. Local and in walking distance. Askrigg itself has a couple of great pubs and a great cafe with takaway service. Would thoroughly recommend this property for great reunions or like us a long awaited family do. Tricia the owner leaves nothing untouched and a fab host

If you're unsure wether you can stay safe and have the room needed with a large group of your family or friends, don't be. From start to finish we weren't for even a second.
This felt like our home as soon as we walked through the door. We completely felt at peace. It truly is a spectacular place with the most wonderful host, Trish. Nothing is too much trouble and she makes you feel so welcome within seconds of meeting her. We are already excited and looking forward to staying here again. Thankyou so much Trish and we hope to see you soon!!
