Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The location is perfect for the Kennacraig ferry to Islay. I travel by bus from Glasgow to stay overnight for an early morning ferry. The location is perfect for people without a car. The house itself is on a quiet street and the room is comfortable with an en-suite bathroom and shower. I had difficulty with my travel that day and the host was helpful and accommodating.

A simple breakfast was provided the morning and then off to the ferry.

It was exactly what I needed and reasonably priced considering that there were few locations in the neighboring town with availability while Glasgow and Edinburgh were full, hosting a climate change conference.

Stayed at the bluebell cottage for work. The rooms were well equipped and really good value for money. There is nothing else in the local area that offers this level of comfort for the price. The breakfast was spot on for a bunch of hungry lads. Bacon, bread, what more do you want. Graham is more than willing to provide a service to match your needs. We will definitely be booking again next year.

Unreal breakfast and hospitality. Bacon sandwiches were lovely and the accommodation is superb. I would defiantly recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to stay in the local area, great value for money - the two owners were great company and made us feel very welcome!

Nice clean, spacious rooms, with a en suite toilet and shower. Had a great breakfast served by the friendly host, who was very accommodating to any requests. Highly recommended and would certainly use again. Thanks for a great stay.

Booked a room at Bluebell Cottage via AirB&B since it was the closest we could find for Calmac ferry to Islay. Ended up regretting not having more time to explore the area and enjoy the grounds as well as Graham's hospitality. The room was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was very good and Covid measures were in place. We also appreciated being able to watch at least the end of the football match from our room.
I expecially want to mark that Graham was ok with our late arrival (unfortunately there are not many options to dine in the area after 8 pm expecially on a summer Saturday night unless you plan ahead, so we had to stop far away and only travel to Tarbert after dinner).
I definitely recommend Bluebell Cottage.

We have stayed at Bluebell twice, it's perfect for the ferry terminal which is less than one minute away.

The property is in a truly beautiful and peaceful location. About 100m off the main road up a narrow lane.

Graham is a splendid host and has some great things to talk about the big white parrot is also brilliant.

Rooms spotless and spacious , breakfast is great.

Just down the road from the wonderful harbour town of Tarbert too which has some nice places for a good meal.

Overall, great location for the ferry, Tarbert or a drive down the coast road to some very nice spots and beaches.

Thanks Graham.

Yes Dan, there is one twin bedroom downstairs and a large room upstairs which also had separate beds (more a family room). Please stay at Bluebell, it is so close to the ferry, barely two minutes! But I am sure Graham will answer quicker thank I have. Enjoy your stay and trip to Islay - it is so lovely!
