Fabulous little b and b / small hotel. Kristen made sure we were comfortable and although the bar and restaurant were closed due to covid regs we enjoyed our stay. Warm, comfortable large room overlooking the busy little harbour. We had to catch an early ferry to Islay so Kristen laid on a large packed breakfast for us.
We stayed here a night before starting the Kintyre way. Everyone was very friendly and covid measures had been taken seriously. As it was during the covid lockdown the restaurant was closed but our takeaway breakfast was good. Our room was spotless and cosy with a nice view across the harbour and much coveted hot chocolate amongst the room tea selection. We would come to reminisce about the comfort of the room and bed over the following nights as we be in a soggy tent marooned in Lochranza or caught in a sudden downpour following the Kintyre way. Hopefully we'll stay again soon.
Stayed here 2 nights with my wife as part of a trip walking The Kintyre Way. Kristen is a great host who is taking Covid measures very seriously but still applying a personal touch. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, we had a beautiful and comfortable room overlooking the harbour and enjoyed the tasty morning breakfasts. Location is perfect just at the edge of the harbour with a 5 minute walk to a number of good restaurants. Really can't think why you'd stay anywhere else in Tarbert.
Storm force winds prevented us from getting to Arran so we changed our itinerary and came to Tarbert and stayed at Struan House. The B&B occupies a lovely spot next to the harbour and our room gave great views of the comings and goings of boats and the continuous changes in weather. The room was spacious and comfortable with lots of refreshment options. Being mid-Feb we successfully kept it warm. However both the breakfast room and our bathroom had a distinct chill and our shower was only ever lukewarm at best. Breakfasts provided good choice and filled us up for the day. It was also a good time to chat to our friendly hosts, Kristen and John, and we enjoyed learning from them about life on the Kintyre Peninsula. Although we came out of season, Struan House is certainly a place you should try.…
Great hosts, lovely cosy and comfortable room overlooking the harbour. Beautifully comfortable bed. Wide choice for breakfast, all freshly cooked with local produce and excellent service from Kristen. Can't speak highly enough of this great B&B! I'll be back!
