Such a lovely B&B, brilliant location, lovely setting, great host and a wonderful stay. The owner of the B&B Andrew was very welcoming and such a gentleman. The room was lovely, very clean and just what you need. The breakfast the next morning was well worth the money, and set you up for the day!! There was a wonderful variety of different breakfast items. The views from the front of the B&B are so lovely looking over the sea. The B&B gardens are wonderful and lovely to have a walk around. Couldn’t fault the B&B will defiantly be returning

Andrew is the consummate host & I have thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night stay at The Moorings! This unique B&B home is full of collectibles & visual treasures everywhere, with excellent housekeeping & not a speck of dust. My room was small but plenty of light & a comfy bed. Clear instructions are written about how to operate the TV, shower, etc. Andrew asks people to schedule breakfast requests the day before. It’s not included (pay cash for breakfast as you go) but SO worth it! Best Scottish breakfast during my extended stay in this country. I was hesitant about requesting the black pudding until another guest raved about it - & she was right! Although Andrew is clear about expectations, he is adaptable & accommodating: I was here for a family wedding & knew 1 night I wouldn’t be back until after 1:00 a.m. I let him know ahead of time, he was fine with that & turned out the lights after I came in. I hope to return to this lovely village & would definitely stay here again.

We were travelling up to Arran for a week and like many others, we had a bit of a nightmare with the ferries. Having had the Ardrossan - Brodick ferry cancelled, we tried for Claonaig - Lochranza but were diverted to Tarbert due to bad weather at Claonaig. As it was, the ferries from there also ended up being cancelled so we needed a place to stop overnight pronto. We found The Moorings on booking.com with one room left and looking at all the fab reviews, decided we'd grab it. Well, how glad we are that we did because what an absolutely gorgeous, quirky little place to stay! As per comments on other reviews, the whole place was spotless, the bedroom was lovely with tea, coffee and delicious biscuits, a lovely roomy bathroom and a super comfy bed. Andrew and Iain are probably some of the best hosts we've ever stayed with, both really welcoming and both so hilarious! We had an absolute hoot chatting with the pair of them and hearing about some of their adventures and, for us, the three beautiful doggos Heidi, Skye and Kara were an added bonus. The house is by the edge of the loch and within a couple of minutes' walk to various bars and restaurants. We were out of season and also it was a Monday night so there wasn't as wide a choice of places to eat as there would usually be. But Andrew and Iain said that the Sea Bed restaurant in the Anchor Hotel a little further along the road was open and so we headed off there. We had a fabulous meal and a couple of drinks and although it wasn't the cheapest, the food was absolutely delicious and worth every penny. The next morning at The Moorings, we didn't have the breakfast but as we were leaving, the supermarket delivery was arriving and looking at what was being unloaded, we started to regret our decision because it looked like it would have been amazing! We were travelling up to Arran from Merseyside so it was a long drive and the palarva with the ferries was pretty frustrating, even moreso when our alternative option to get over the Arran also fell through. However, we ended up having such a fun time in Tarbert that we were glad that things worked out the way they did. We would highly, highly recommend The Moorings for an overnight stay and we hope to go back for another visit in the future. Thank you Andrew and Iain for being such lovely and entertaining hosts :)

The place is an absolute delight with a friendly and helpful host. It is spotlessly clean and the bed was the most comfortable I have slept in for a long time. The view from our bedroom window was stunning and watching the sun rising over Loch Tarbet was quite an experience. There is free, fast, wi-fi, tea making facilities in room (with biscuits) and off-street parking. Only a very short walk to local pubs and restaurants but at sufficient distance to be totally quiet. We opted for the "bed only" tariff as we had to leave very early the next morning. An enjoyable and memorable visit.

What an beautiful B&B this is, I could not find fault with anything. Owner Andy (and his lovely dogs) could not have been anymore welcoming, nothing was two much trouble. Delicious full breakfast before setting off in the morning I will definitely look forward to another stay here.

When my ferry was cancelled to Arran I found the Moorings B&B on booking.com . This is probably one of the best B&Bs I’ve stayed at . A warm friendly welcome from the owner Andrew and his adorable 3 big fluffy dogs . The cottage is quite small , extremely clean and picturesque with stunning views of the water . The bed was very comfortable, on enquiry I discovered it was a combination of good mattress, memory foam and mattress topper, perfect . I over ordered from the menu for my breakfast and struggled to finish the delicious well cooked assortment of Scottish specialties. I only paid £60 for my night which I felt was excellent value and talking to Andrew discovered that he hadn’t taken advantage of the pandemic to raise his prices to extort holidaymakers , the B&B is such good value and much better than most hotels , I look forward to returning next year with family .

What a wonderful experience. This is a little B&B with a big heart. From the moment you walk through the gate and walk up the path there is a warmth and friendliness. The stunning garden alone is enough reason to open that gate. Beautifully furnished throughout, with some lovely, quirky additions by our host Andrew. The rooms are cozy and classy. The breakfast will certainly set you up for the day and if you ask nicely, Andrew may even give you a rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody on the piano. With a beautiful harbour in front of the house and a ruined castle at the back, this is like an adventure in wonderland. I’ll be back.

Stayed at the moorings for three nights whilst exploring the Mull of Kintyre and surrounding area on a motorbike trip with friends. The location has amazing views looking out over the harbour area and is only a very short walk into the village centre. We were made very welcome by Andy the owner, the rooms are very comfy and a great breakfast was on offer. Would recommend this spot and hope to visit again at some point in the near future.

An unexpected stay in Tarbert was made so much better by our stay in The Moorings. Room was spotless, breakfast paid for separately was absolutely fab and very good value for money. View was lovely, bed very comfortable and wifi great no problems at all. Will definitely stay again if back in the area.

Stayed at this B&B on 20th May when unable to get home to Arran . Very comfortable, warm and friendly and the owner Andrew went out of his way to ensure I had a good stay. Great breakfast in the morning before I set off for the ferry and all good value. Will certainly recommend the Moorings to friends and relatives.
