Me and my partner have had lunch here twice this month now whilst passing through Porthmadog.. All I can say is what a gem! The food and presentation are beautiful. Only downfall is the decor is a little shabby. But like I said, food is amazing. Although, the menu could do with some adjustments to the puddings, they're a bit...

Hotel and guest rooms superb we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff are lovely and friendly and food is spectacular. We were in a patio room which was great for us and the dog and dogs welcome in the bar. Beautiful open fire and ambience in the bar. Would highly recommend this hotel to others .

We spent a couple of nights here last week with a view to doing some walking in the area. We found the hotel to be homely and relaxing. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room, a small double, was perfectly adequate to our needs and was clean, warm and well equipped and laid out. The hotel was...

All our staff try to go the extra mile to help customers and/or guests with a warm welcome, help to relax, and planning visits to the wealth of world-renowned indoor and outdoor attractions and activities in this truly stunning part of Britain! We positively welcome - rather than just allow - families, groups and dogs to stay and dine with...

We wanted to celebrate a special birthday, and I particularly wanted to revisit childhood memories. I remembered my parents meeting up with family at this hotel over fifty years ago and decided it would be an ideal place to stay for the places we wanted to visit. It was the perfect choice, the hotel itself is lovely and old, but...

Ian, Honor and Kiva - as well as all our other staff - are always delighted to receive such positive feedback from guests whose expectations are perhaps higher than usual because of a special family function. We are thrilled there is seemingly no more we could do to have made your stay any more perfect - from booking direct. ....

Stayed one night during a rain lashed motorcycle trip, arrived rather wet ! Offered the use of drying room to hang up wet gear with a party of cyclists too. Unfortunately the heating system was out of action, but the space of hanging our gear out helped out. Booking in was smooth especially with the offer previously mentioned. Room was...

A very thorough and welcome review of all that we offer - apart from our amazing evening meals which perhaps you missed? We specialise in accommodating special interest guests and groups - such as bikers and cyclists - and our drying room is very handy with the heating system on for all-but a few hours during the day and night....

Yes, the hotel is old. But not many hotel survives over 100 years! Proper real Welsh boutique hotel, this is all you are looking for if you have passion about hotels. Staff is super friendly, well located. Clean and vintage. It will make you feel you are living Wales in the1890! I loved it.

Wonderful to receive such positive feedback from a guest who truly appreciates the genuine character of all we offer! Our hotel was built in 1862 - so 155 years old - but while updating and improving many aspects for modern comforts, a succession of owners have delighted in retaining many original features! We are ideally located on Porthmadog High Street...

The hotel was booked for me by my friend and when we turned up I was excited to see the restaurant is awarded 2 AA rosettes and being an ex chef of that level I know the work involved in preparing food to that level. We went to our room which was fine, but cold, it took a while for...

Thank you for taking your time and writing the review. We are very sorry that you had these issues during your dining experience with us that day. This would have been the night we were short-staffed and had traininee waiting-on staff working; at the same time we were overwhelmed with bookings on that night. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience...

We are absolutely thrilled the two of you and your dog enjoyed yourselves so much!
