Stayed here for 4 nights. As a lone traveller I felt safe in a clean, comfortable and warm environment. My room met all my needs including hairdryer, iron and ironing board and a fridge. Complimentary breakfast had lots of choice and it was good to meet other guests in a friendly environment. Wayne was a great host, full of local knowledge and really looks after his guests. I would definitely return here if visiting Rhyl in the future.

We had two nights here to explore the surrounding area. The hotel is right on the seafront which gives a great view. Parking is off street just round the corner but there is a loading bay outside the hotel to offload bags. Very friendly hosts and the room was big and clean and had everything we needed. Very good covid restrictions in place. Breakfast was a very generous continental breakfast given the night before to keep in our fridge- added bonus of not having to get dressed for breakfast! Walking distance to places to eat and close to some lovely places to visit in the surrounding area of Conwy and Colwyn bay.

Cannot praise this hotel enough! The room was warm clean and comfortable, fridge in room which was really handy, tv was quite small but I guess we are all getting used to 42 inch and bigger screens 😁. Wayne checked us in and told us all we needed to know. Breakfast was great, plenty choice and excellent service from both the lads and the girls. I forget the other lads name but I am sure he will remember me calling him Tiny Tim lol (the one that does the prank phone calls) had lovely conversations and laughs with the lads. Absolute gem of a place and would highly recommend. Just a pity the neighbours rubbish brought down the tone of the area! Shame on you Rhyl council ☹

Stayed for 1 night and slightly disappointed from reading the rave reviews to the experience we had.

Positives are the hosts are very welcoming, great location to walk into Rhyl (a few mins) and breakfast pack which you are issued with, a full continental breakfast.

The rooms are pretty basic and bathroom could do with an upgrade. Our mattress was heavily stained and well past it’s best and needed replacing. Springs dug in to my side and half of the mattress dipped which had indicated the springs had gone.

There was mildew in the window frame, dirty bathroom pull cord, extremely dusty extractor frame, glass pane blown in window with condensation and the pipes were noisy, which kept us awake late and woke us early first thing. There were only cheap window blinds and the light poured in around 6am. Having said that, the bed linen and shower/bathroom were very clean as was the floor/carpet.

Unfortunately with other budget hotels out there offering a more comfortable night sleep, we wouldn’t return to OYO.

I stayed here a few weeks ago with the partner, it's better if you can get a room with a sea view, because the promenade near the hotel was less desirable and you can't see the seas unless you stay on the top floor.
The hotel is small and they close the bar quite early, what surprised us was, they gave us a 'doggy bag' of cold breakfast the night before to save them getting up early. Well..the breakfast was small and we were hungry, it contained 2 tiny kids yogurts, 2 croissants, 2 small boxes of cereal with the partner didn't like that could be eaten out of the box, sour grapes and sour apples. We were just hungry. The room overlooked terraced houses and only 1 window would open a little bit, tv didn't work, shower didn't work, no plug for bath, only 2 bottles of shower gel. No individual soap for the sink. Tiny bathroom, enough room to use the loo of hop in the bath.

Just left from a night away, start to finsh was pretty much perfect. The owners are welcoming, helpful, chatty and overall really nice people. Everything is spotless, cleaned to a high standard, had everything we needed in the room. Breakfast is a continental put in your fridge ready for the morning with a range off croissants, fruit, biscuits, juice, cereal, milk, yogurts and cakes. Very generous, i really have nothing bad to say and will most defo be returning. Thankyou for a great welcoming stay.

I Was Not Happy With My Stay At All!
Room Spacious but not very clean
I found a hair in my Breakfast which looked more like dog fur
I Came a long way on business and expected something much better as the Website looked so Nice.
The room I stayed in was at the back of the Hotel near the smoking area ,I hardly had any sleep due to the volume of noice coming from outside, people drinking up to the early hours of the morning
Sadly I will Not be returning.

Having read the reviews on Trip Advisor and viewed those on the hotel web-site we booked The Pier Hotel in anticipation of a good stay. However, expectations were not met and we left feeling tired and extremely disappointed at the overall experience and wonder if others stayed in a different hotel.

The pluses:
Welcome was very good - felt expected and a guest and Wayne and Will made good suggestions for dinner at The Bistro (which was very good value) and the room was clean. The breakfast was extensive and portions large, so much so that the second morning we could not eat a cooked breakfast after sampling the fresh fruit, cereals etc. Great choices and cooked well.

The negatives:
The mattress was thin, the duvet meant sized and pillows foam and smelling either of fabric conditioner of Febreeze - none of which helped with quality of sleep. .There was only one bedside lamp so only one person could read in bed, and the TV was so far away, and so small, that it was a strain to watch.

The bathroom was very cramped and you could not sit on the toilet and open the door from the outside. Had the second, single, bed had been removed, a decent sized bathroom could have been achieved. The shelf placed under the mirror above sink obscured the mirror when anything was placed on it. A design fault.

The room overlooked the yard, where three large dogs wandered and used the concrete as a toilet - not very pleasant to look onto. Seagulls nesting on the roof woke us at 2 am, but the really worst part of the whole experience was the noise. On the first night, in the early hours, someone tried to get into our room, banging and rattling the door really aggressively, waking us. After this we both felt quite threatened and insecure in the room. The second night we were woken at 5.30 am by people banging doors, talking loudly with no attempt to keep quiet. The hotel website and the plethora of notices everywhere state that some residents work shift patterns and that the hotel would appreciate some consideration for these guest. I believe that there has also to be consideration for those who have come away for a break.

The second morning we ordered a coffee and this never came - it appeared to have been forgotten and by now then we were just keen to leave so didn't ask again.

When booking I requested a shower, since my partner is disabled and has some mobility problems, and when we checked in we were told that our room had been changed to accommodate us. We were, therefore, put in a room on the top floor and up several stairways.

Overall:
There are slightly more expensive rooms at The Pier, though none are that expensive, so book one of these and not the basic as we did, since you may then not look down into the yard, may be on a lower floor and may even see the sea. Had I known how poor the room was going to be, and the website does nothing to indicate such disparity between rooms, we certainly would have booked an upgrade.

Maybe we have been spoilt with previous hotels that we have stayed in, but I feel that The Pier does not come up to expectations raised on Trip Advisor or its own web-site and is not significantly less expensive than local country hotels over a weekend, that we saw when driving around the area. We booked on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews and feel that overall the reviews are misrepresenting what is on offer.

No corners cut on quality on any ingredients or service. Could go on and on. Recommend to anyone staying away from home, as you will feel you are home.
