Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful comfortable and relaxing stay at an excellent B&B situated in a most beautiful and tranquil location. My family and I were grateful to Paul for his helpful and professional hospitality and we thoroughly enjoyed his delicious cooked breakfasts. It was a memorable and special experience to stay in the room with the luxury of a 4 poster, super king bed with sofa and dual aspect views over the front garden. A superb room to relax in after an enjoyable day exploring walking and exploring the local heritage sites with wonderful scenery and views across Montgomeryshire, Powys and Shropshire, Mid Wales. The downstairs living room with the grand piano, pool table and table football game was also a most welcome facility and the maps, leaflets and books with fascinating information about the local area were most useful.

The owner was really friendly and welcoming, the house was lovely and so quiet. The room was immaculate and we even had our duvet changed to a heavier one without asking as they noticed we had used the additional blankets. We would definitely stay here again and we will keep our fingers crossed for better weather next time!

Lovely quiet small private estate near Newtown. We were upgraded to a huge corner room with a massive four poster bed and we were delighted. We enjoyed the grounds, friendly black cat and the trees in spring glory. We spent a day at Powis Castle and had a picnic back at the house. There is a small kitchenette for guests to use with a fridge snd microwaves. Everything we could need. Thank you Sandy and Steve

A lovely spacious room for my husband, toddler and I - it was clean, fresh, and very comfortable. A beautiful building with period features, set in a lovely quiet setting. We walked up the lane, beside a stream whilst we were there - very relaxing. Welcoming host too!

There were initially some complications with my booking but Paul was professional and did everything he could to rectify the issue and make my stay a relaxing one, even going the extra mile to arrange transport to and from the B&B. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable and breakfast was delicious. I will be looking to stay again to enjoy a few days in the countryside next summer.

Clean and lovely room. All in all we had a lovely short stay beside the cold room, I would prefer the radiator operates all night, not time set. Large parking space in a quiet atmosphere. Paul is a gentle host. Hope to be back for longer stay. Cheers!

We were in Newtown to visit friends and booked with Paul for the visit. The house is fabulous, just like a Manor house, and the room we had was in keeping with the property, comfortable well decorated and warm. The bed was so comfortable that we didn't want to get up. Unfortunately we had to as breakfast was booked. Paul, the owner gave an option of times for breakfast, allowing for guests to eat safely, and socially distanced. Breakfast was excelent with cereal, a choice of cooked options, and great coffee. As a host Paul was friendly, and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. It's a shame, that we weren't able to take advantage of the grounds, but given the time of year, the weather was against us. We will definatley be back to stay again on future visits to the area

A lil gem. Peaceful for discovering yourself. Lovely and yummy breakfast, easily driveable to most of the good places in Wales. Tesco is not far basic stuff. A few domestic animals to keep ourselves busy. Our room was big and welcoming and a very good sleep on both the days. Paul was very friendly and helpful.

The Forest Country B&B is one of those picturesque properties that one thinks of when picturing a gentile guesthouse nestled within a Welsh valley. Its gardens are well-kept, the house full of character, and the host, Paul, a helpful, friendly owner who looks after his guests. We particularly enjoyed the CD collection and billiards, and the rooms are decorated sympathetically and clean. Thank you for a memorable stay!
