Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had to travel to Newtown on business and was looking a cost effective option that allowed me to prepare my own meals (I am a fussy aspiring vegan with occasional lapses for ice cream and cake) . Penygelli met my needs very well. It was clean and comfortable with lots of lovely hot water. It’s quiet and feels very secure. I will stay again

Great little apartment in Mid-Wales, ideal for a work trip or solo / couple travelling. Loved the range of goodies left for breakfast including homemade bread. Good wifi, comfy bed, what more do you need?

I loved staying here with my dogs! 2 weeks away from home, and Phil and Zoe made it easier. I highly recommend! Dogs loved the stay too, running around the big field like hooligans wich made it nicer again! Located 4 minuites away from town made it easier for me travelling with the 2 dogs. Lovely warm rooms located away from the roads, very tranquil. Lost my phone temporarily, Phil and Zoe helped no end which I appreciate massively! Will definitley return in the near future!

In a small hidden valley lay a timeless mansion- Victorian? Georgian? - that swept one back in time, a true disconnect!!! Tall poplar trees vaulted Into the heavens. An early morning sun was dissolving the veil of shimmering mist to reveal a framework of ancient trees around a sloping garden- and beyond 8 acres of land to explore. Our room overlooking this landscape was an apartment, that is to say a very comfortable king size bed, en-suite with very enjoyable shower and kitchen. This was fully equipped with supplies for refreshments and our self service breakfast. In the morning warm freshly baked bread had been delivered to our room door. Our room was comfortable with lots of homely touches giving us a sense of ‘at ease’ and wellbeing. In the true sense, our experience was that of a warm hearted Welsh welcome.

Two charming apartments part of a traditional Welsh farmhouse in the Welsh hills. Very well appointed for a base for exploring the countryside with a kitchen and en-suite bedroom with small dining table. We were greeted with a loaf of bread fresh from the oven which was meant to be for breakfast together with a selction of jams, creal , tea, coffee and orange juice. In our case we couldn't resist having some bread while it was still warm! We had a good wi-fi signal and Sky television. The hosts were very acommodating, inviting us to use the firepit and other outside facilities and we will definitely be returning. We woke up to a beautiful view of sheep grazing on the mountain but a taxi to the town centre was only £5.

Zoe & Phil were warm and friendly for both pre booking enquiries and on arrival. Bed is one of the comfiest I’ve ever slept in! The house is traditional but with modern fittings in the room, the kitchen was a real bonus and we loved making our own toast in the morning with the lovely homemade bread. Beautiful grounds and views to wake up to. We will definitely be back!

We were pleased with the fact that the hosts dealt with us on a personal basis, adding a few personal touches as standard but also accommodating to our needs, without any fuss. The location is very picturesque and quiet, at the same time close to amenities
