With Covid restrictions by the Welsh Government, our Christmas Eve High Tea had to be cancelled, so we had a takeaway version plus some extra Scotch Eggs/Sausage rolls and 2 large Cheesecakes, all homemade by the team Absolutely awesome food, Fantastic
A fantastic warm welcome on our arrival and friendly, professional service throughout our stay. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a large en suite bathroom and shower. We booked an evening meal on a Thursday evening and weren't disappointed. Good selection of wines and beers including local Ludlow Brewery Ales. The quality of food was excellent, unfussy, quality ingredients and generous portions. A warm welcome, great food and service. Ideal for a stop over for business or a long journey or perfect for a short break. We are already planning a return visit.
Enjoyed lunch this week and the burgers we ordered arrived piping hot and well cooked with home made slaw, sourdough bun and chips. Probably the best pub burger we've ever had, and not expensive. Super friendly staff. Pubs putting this much effort into their food deserve all the support they can get in these hard times.
I was in the area with my fiance and we heard this place was having a special set menu for St Dynwen's day. We hadn't heard of it before but apparently it is like the Welsh Valentine's day. So we booked a table to check out the pub and this set menu. The pub is absolutely beautiful, an ideal country pub. Wooden beams and a fire place sort of pub. We ordered our drinks at the bar from the friendly landlord (I assume he was, he looked the part!) And were soon seated in the restaurant for our dinner! I had the rarebit to start and my partner ordered popcorn cockles, both were beautifully presented and delicious! For mains I ordered the lamb rack while my partner ordered the trout, lamb was perfectly cooked and the whole dish was outstanding. I tasted the trout and that too was very good. For dessert I had Bara Brith pudding with ice cream, never had it before but I want it again! My fiance ordered the cheesecake made with white chocolate and some welsh cream liqueur, for such a large piece of cheesecake it was incredibly light, and again delicious! Overall the pub was beautiful and the food incredible and the landlord took such good care of us and was very friendly. I can't recommend this place enough! They have rooms aswell so we will definitely be back to stay and try the normal menu!…
