This was the first time we have stayed in Casa's and must admit a little nervous. We speak no Spanish, about from phrase book, but Basita made us feel welcome. Rooms with air conditioner and fan, fresh towels each day and a fridge with cold water provided. Breakfast excellent....far more than we could get through. Loved sitting on front porch...

Villa Basita is one of the best casas in Cuba. The house looks amazing and the rooms are very good. Basita (the owner) is a lovely woman, but doesn't speak any English. With only a little Spanish you could understand Basita luckily!

have stayed in Vinales before but in hotels. Always a bit nervous as know standards vary and many Cuban entrepeneurs are on a steep learning curve . need not have worried. Room basic but with all facilities. Large private indoor seating and eating area separate from hosts. Excellent verandah for downing pina coladas and watching world go by. It may...

Although regular visitors to Cuba, this is the first time we have stayed in a casa particular. What a great place to stay. Our room was one of just two in the house; the house is organised so that those two rooms have privacy in their own part of the ground floor, and their own kitchen area. We had a...

Upon arrival, we were told by Basita that the place is full, and we should stay with Sofia, in the house next door. We were totally fine with that. The room was ok, with a good shower, which is hard to find in Cuba. Nevertheless, the breakfast and dinner were absolutely inedible. The guided horse tour we took by their...

Booked with Villa Basita, however stayed at her daughter in law's place during March 2013. The lunch on arrival was good (although it was slow to arrive), therefore we decided to have dinner as well. Unfortunately it was quite disappointing, we waited ages for the dinner to be ready (which was pre booked well in advance) . Next day the...

we stayed in Vinales for a few days, and had a great time. Basita and her husband are warm and sweet people with a lovely, clean house. Basita's cooking is the best, so dont bother going to the resturaunts in the city! she is very giving, always offering drinks and snacks (free of charge), her house is big, clean, with...
