Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I spent a weekend in La Heliconia and it was incredibly relaxing. Our room was modern, self-contained, spacious, and had a wonderful view. Breakfast on the following morning was tasty, filling, and very affordable. I plan on returning soon and I encourage others to visit and stay at La Heliconia as well.

We stayed overnight because it was close to the airport and ferry. Clean, friendly staff. Down side is it is located on the side of a hill. Which made it a challenge going up and down, but it worked. Food was good but took a very long time to get it. We preordered breakfast but it never appeared.

This is the WORST hotel I have stayed at in my entire life. So UNSANITARY. The pictures displayed are 100% deceiving. The room we stayed at was DISGUSTING. The second we walked in it reeked of sewage. There are bugs crawling in every corner, stains on the walls, even the shower curtain had stains all over it. I asked for a toilet paper roll after mine finished and they REFUSED to provide one. I Requested my room to be cleaned and sheets changed, we waited TWO DAYS and still NO ROOM SERVICE. This hotel then presented the other room they offer and it was like at a completely different hotel. It’s like they made an updated room or two JUST to take pictures of it for advertising. I am so disappointed. No accommodations whatsoever I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel to my worst enemy. IF I CAN GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS I WOULD.

My husband and I stayed for 19 days. The room itself was ok but definitely needed an upgrade. The curtain rod for the shower curtain was not drilled into the wall properly and kept falling off. The dish soap holder in the shower also was not drilled into the way, so everytime we tried to place a piece of soap or container on it, it would fall. We tried to close the curtain for the kitchen window and the rod fell down breaking a dish which we reported to a housekeep that morning. There was construction in the room next door for 10 out of the 19 days with loud drilling/hammering etc sometimes past 6 pm. The first night it happened the owner saw us and apologized for the noise but she never stated it would go on for so long. After the 10th day, my husband spoke with an employee at the front desk asking for a discount only on the days with all the construction and no one got back to us. On the morning we were to check out we checked again and they stated they needed to talk with the owner. We were never offered to move rooms away from the noise. We were only offered $114 off total when we paid $77 per night for 19 nights. One of the motion lights went out and I ended up falling down the stairs as I missed the last step. I let the owner and a worker know what happened and they didn't even ask if I was ok. They did immediately ask which light it was and fixed it the next day which was good. One of the days the pool was a green color (after raining, so this may have had an effect). There were several times we tried to go to the front desk to ask for something and no one was there. My husband and I stay yearly in Grenada and for quite a period of time. I'm disappointed in this hotel and the Owner and we will not be staying again. Would not recommend.

We were not due to stay here, but due to the Coronavirus restrictions forcing us to cut short a stay on Carriacou, we stayed here for 2 nights. Our room was a little apartment with a kitchen, sitting area, dining table, bedoroom and bathroom. The hotel is on the road to the airport so there is traffic passing by all the time, but we didn't really notice it being invasive. The place was just right for our stay - waiting 2 days for our flight home. We were the only people staying there at the time, so started our self-isolation round the pool. This had nice loungers with comfy cushions on, and a sun shaded area with a nice breeze. It is on a steep slope so I would not class it as wheelchair friendly or for anyone with mobility problems. Our daily work out was walking up and down the slope to the pool which is at the top of the property. The restaurant was shut (as everywere on Grenada) but they cooked us breakfast which we ate in our room. In the evening we went and got a take away from the nearby Pun-jabi restaurant (see separate review). We had a friendly little Gecko staying with us in our bedroom who we named Trevor. He seemed to barely move at all, but I entertained myself with thoughts that while we slept he raced round the room doing circuits. The bed was large and very comfy. they had 2 enormous double wardrobes in the room containing about 4 hangers. This wasn't a problem for us as we lived out of our packed bags. I would imagine it's not the sort of place where you stay for a long time anyway. AC in the room was very effective. No ceiling fan. The shower looked old (a fixed head coming out of the wall) but it was fabulous. Lovely hot water and a decent pressure. Nice towels, and the pool towels were nice quality too. Difficult to tell what it would be like normally, but this place served it's purpose for us very well. The reception staff were very nice and helped as much as they could in the circumstances.

It's basically an apartment walking distance from the airport. Huge living room with microwave and mini refrigerator. I think the sofa is a pull out sofa bed so this apartment can accommodate at least 3 people. I didn't get to explore because I arrived late at night and left the next day. But I think there's a pool and spa. Free WiFi. The owner Debbie was very nice and gave me a roof top apartment instead of what I paid for. She also allowed me to check out a little later because the room wasn't reserved for that day. The restaurant was closed so her son drove me to Gran Anse to buy dinner that night. Free breakfast was included in the price. Overall a pleasant night stay at an affordable price. I've booked another night stay for February.

I have only just returned from having a wonderful time in Grenada with my daughter. We stayed at La Heliconia which was extremely near to the airport... so near... that for our departure, we walked to the airport! The hotel staff was very helpful and accommodating and any requests made of them were dealt with in a timely manner. The only hiccup we experienced was lack of water on two occasions but it returned later in the night, and a mal functioning iron which was replaced. I also did not like the steep pathway to get to my room, but apart from this, we enjoyed our stay there and the pool was fantastic! Keep up the good work!

Do not stay here.. my problems with the resort started as soon as we arrived. There was construction going on and I was placed right near the construction and Also was greeted with a pile of dirt right outside my window. When I brought my concerns to the owner she promised me the construction was ended the following day needless to say every morning I was awaken by drilling and hammer sounds. The water in the shower often goes out and they have a bucket inside the bathroom just in case it happens so you can dump water in you if your in the shower.. my husband and I found this out first hand. Some might be wondering why I waited this long to write a review..initially I was not going to write a review. It a friend of mine is traveling to Grenada and asked me about this resort. I explained the entire debacle to him and then realized I have an obligation to advise other travelers about my experience as well. I felt the owner was extremely unsympathetic towards my needs and did not care about the inconvenience she caused me.. she finally offered to change my room the 2 days before I was leaving even though I wanted to change my room the 2nd day but agreed not to since she assured me the construction was ending. My suggestion.. stay somewhere else

Friendly and passionate owner providing excellent customer service and often goes the extra mile for each of her guest at anytime early or late. So good I had to return! Clean AC appartments, free wifi and to my delight a brand new swimming pool. The location and local amenities and nearby beach within walking distance made my trip another success. Good value for money and excellent staff. I'll be back next year because you're ever so accommodating ... thank you so much!
