Great island get away!

The hotel sits right on the water. Nothing like waking up in the morning and sipping a cup of coffee on the beach. The beach bar staff was awesome. Great service! Bars and restaurants are walking distance from the hotel.

Great Resort- Great Location- Fantastic Staff

The property is great and the staff is beyond fantastic and attentive. The location of the resort makes everything super easy. I would suggest the breakfast as it was delicious. Would highly recommend Hotel La Palapa it and will be back next year!

Great beachfront location!

Great location! Literally a beachfront hotel where our toes touched the water when sitting on their club lounge chairs. Located centrally between Punta Mosquito and Punta Coco and still away from the public beach crowd. We went to Holbox to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. Rocio and Erika at the front desk where amazing. I was in communication with them prior to us arriving and they had the room decorated with balloons and a card which was a nice personal touch. Highly recommend!

Reason this is my 4th time here

Coming to isla Holbox every year the passed 4 years I always come here to La Palapa, and seams to be getting better every time. As always, the hospitality of all members of the staff are super friendly. Welcoming you with a big smile. Rocio at the front desk always so nice and attentive. Rooms are clean and well maintained, great AC and the WiFi looks to work a bit faster on the island.. but not always. The bar at the hotel is again, serving some amazing breakfast every morning. Rodrigo and his staff always making sure you get your food and drinks on point. Now, there has been some changes on the beach grounds which I noticed. I don’t know if this has to do with climate change or erosion. But once I got to the beach , I noticed it right away…- that the water level has come up pretty much. When I first visited here in 2019, you had a lot of beach space , meaning you had to walk a bit just to get to the water. Not anymore, the waves are practically lapping on your beach chairs. I don’t know if there’s a solution to this. Other than that, don’t be discouraged, the beach is still amazing, sunsets are out-of-this-world , located just 2 minutes from the center of Holbox, you cannot go wrong booking here. As always I highly recommend it.! There are many more hotel poping up around the island, but La Papala is still the one to go to. Book here and enjoy!…

Perfection!

We had an absolutely perfect vacation at Beachfront Hotel La Palapa. Our full service airport transfer was seamless from picking us up at the airport, having our ferry tickets ready for us, and getting picked up at the ferry to go to the hotel. No issues at all and everyone was super polite and helpful. Our hotel room was absolutely beautiful with a magnificent view of the blue water which is exactly as beautiful as it looks in the photos. All of the food was cooked to perfection and you could eat in the bar or on the beach. We never got sick at all in Mexico as has always been the warning to Americans! All the staff were incredibly kind and always remembered us each day. Housekeeping was also incredibly speedy and always left the room looking beautiful with nicely folded towels and incense. My boyfriend and I also got massages at the spa which were so calming. I highly recommend this hotel!…

Excellent Hotel

We loved our stay at Beachfront Hotel La Palapa. It's located just steps from the beach in the heart of town--everything is within walking distance. The staff was incredible and showed great pride in their work. They kept the rooms and grounds immaculate, the servers were positive and personable, and the front desk was helpful and knowledgeable about Holbox. We especially appreciated Rocio at the front desk and Salvatore in the restaurant, but everyone else was fantastic as well. It was really hot during our stay, and the AC was more than sufficient to keep the room cool. The restaurant served delicious made-to-order breakfasts, and also had great lunches and dinners. The evening bartender made the best margaritas we had in Holbox. Because of its convenient location, it can be a little noisy, so light sleepers should bring earplugs. If you're an early riser and need to be caffeinated, we didn't find any place that served coffee before 7:30, so bring instant coffee and use the hot/cold water dispenser in front. Also, if you pay for your room in cash you will get a 10% discount. Overall, the hotel offered an excellent experience and a great value. …

Great experience!

Very nice hotel with great location, the room was nice and clean, loved the water coming out of conch shells, visit the rooftop for spectacular sunsets! Customer service was top notch! Breakfast was included and it was delicious every time, all employees were very nice and friendly. They constantly clean all the areas so it looks pristine at all times. Highly recommended!!

Fantastic 4 night stay

Small, tropical hotel in the perfect central location. We had a room with a huge balcony overlooking the beach and loved it. The room is spacious, looks a little more rustic in person than online, but that doesn’t matter at all. The bed and pillows are very comfy and it’s a spacious room. The staff are all outstanding here- the girls at the desk, the groundskeepers, the guys at the bar/restaurant are all great and so hardworking. The beach is cleaned every morning, the sand around the property is raked throughout the day. The cushions are put away every night and the covers are changed, so when you go to use them they look brand new. I had read many complaints before arriving regarding the noise. There are absolutely lots of different restaurants or bars nearby that play music and yes it can be heard in the rooms. However, once I was in my bed with the fan and a/c going, the noise did not prevent me from falling asleep nor staying asleep. I’m not sure if that’s because I was in an oceanfront room, but that was my experience. I’m a light sleeper and always use an eye mask and earplugs, even at home. I did the same here and slept fine. The other complaint I had read before going was that there was only one outlet, in the bathroom. My room also had an outlet with built in usb between the beds, so this was also not an issue. We explored a lot of the island, and what we appreciated about La Palapa, is that they don’t play loud club music day and night like many of the other places ( that would have driven me nuts!). Instead at the beachside bar/restaurant they have mellow music playing. So much more relaxing! There is a water refilling station at the check in desk that we used constantly throughout our stay. They also supply shampoo, conditioner and lotion. If I were to return to Holbox , I would definitely consider this hotel again. (It would only be the price that would potentially keep me away). I feel that what I paid on my most recent visit was definitely worth what I got. Gracias to the staff for making us feel so welcome and taken care of.…

One of the best chill vacations ever!

The hotel was perfectly located and had it’s own little oasis feel to it. The grounds were routinely taken care of so everything looked and felt amazing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was located in a great area to get the the town center, walk the beach, and rent a bike. We want to go back right now!!

Excellent experience! Great location!

We took a little getaway to celebrate a family member’s milestone birthday and thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. Excellent location close to town (1-2 blocks), yet the feeling of seclusion is still present. Some ppl complained of the party music that went on until 3-4am but I was never bothered by it. They do provided ear plugs in the room. Breakfast is good - would be nice if additional selections were offered. Centrally located to both tips of the island, restaurants, beaches, etc. Friendly and super helpful staff. Bar drinks were hit or miss - and at $10-12US per drink, that was sometimes a disappointment. Met some great ppl from around the world here who all enjoyed their stay. We had a 2nd floor room and the view from the balcony was perfect. Would definitely recommend to others for a central location.…
