I am amazed to read the last two reviews of this establishment and find it difficult to believe of such a turn around in quality in such a short time. I feel compeled to offer our experience. We were to stay two days in November '09, however because of the condition of the establishment we left without staying, forfeiting the...

Fabulous stay, a little off the beaten track set in a tranquil area with great views. The hospitality was 4 star with all you expect and more from a retreat. I would and have recommended Isla Park to other couples and this was my second stay there because we liked it the first time. The pool is so refreshing at...

I won our stay at Isla Park on an ebay auction. After winning, read some bad reviews on this site. Decided not to judge till we had stayed.! We have no connection to the owners in any way, and until purchased on ebay had not heard of the place. We spent 3 nights at Isla Park in January. Some of...

My partner and I spent a few days in Isla Park retreat recently. Although the actual venue is great with beautiful views over the hinterland and coast, rather large rooms and a quiet location, we found the following to be very disappointing: 1) when arriving you are welcomed by a clutter of old plates/cutlery/coat angers and other odds and ends...

My wife and I stayed at Isla Park years ago and it was a delightful experience. So I booked another weekend there.... what a mistake. The place had gone to ruin, we spent the first 2 hours cleaning the room. I was so embarrassed to have brought my wife to a place looking like this. The room was dirty, the...

Isla Park was more remote than we believed it would be, the journey included a fairly long stretch of dirt road. On arrival we were advised that due to a water shortage, baths were not allowed and short showers only were to be taken. Although the furnishing in the room was new and modern, it didn't suit the overall style...

Guests are forewarned that 1 km of road is unsealed. Isla Park does not have access to town water. It points out that we are in the middle of a drought. Isla Park regrets its guests felt that the room & furniture was not to their liking. Isla Park advised its guests that the swimming pool had had its winter...

We arrived to discover the retreat was all over grown, Waterfall and pool was all slime covered. There was no undercover parking as advertised as their cars took the only spot available. The room itself had one double bed. Instead of the Queen bed, double bed and single that was on a printout. In addition to this there was no...

I purchased a gift certificate for a Saturday night stay, with dinner and wine, for my son & daughter in law in December 2008. It took numerous emails and phone calls to actually receive the gift certificate, each time I was promised it would be sent out in a couple of days. My daughter in law rang in May to...
