Colin was very welcoming and full of information. He gave us excellent information on cave trips and experiences and also got us "the best price".Listen to his advice on dinner possibilities.... they are spot on. Continental breakfast was pleasant and spacious room gave you the possibility to mingle with other guests.

Thanks for the review. One of the great things about staying in a B&B is the chance to mix and mingle with the other guests over breakfast. It is a good chance to get information from other like-minded travellers and you may even meet a long lost acquaintance.

Had a wonderful stay here after our trip to the local caves. From my trip to Waitomo I would say this is *the* location if you want to stay in town. Colin and Janet are wonderful hosts and the property is easily within walking distance of the tour operators and the best restaurant in town, Huhu. The rooms are small,...

We booked 3 rooms (#1, 3, and 4) for a night while exploring the area. Janet and Colin were very responsive to emails before we arrived, and offered great suggestions for things to do/places to eat. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. There are laundry facilities available on-site (up until 9pm) and a shared guest fridge. The breakfast in...

This was a wonderful choice to stay at to go to see the caves- right in the middle of the little village. We walked to dinner and to then cave locations (granted, it was a 10-15 min walk, but there was a sidewalk). The Guest House was beautiful with an overflowing garden. The rooms were spacious and well maintained and...

My only regret is in NOT staying longer! We booked one night here on our way south. We had received and email prior to our visit from Colin and Janet with information on parking, room, laundry, etc. Colin and Janet were very welcoming, giving us suggestions on where to eat, general store information, a map of where to locate glowworms...

Stayed here with the family for our cave visit. Exceptionally clean, centrally located B and B. The hosts were fantastically helpful and kind. Waking up to sound of all the birdsong was a great way to start the day!

Thanks for your kind words. Waitomo Caves Village is a very pleasant area and we are so pleased you enjoyed the early morning bird song chorus. It is what we intended when we planted the shrubs to attract the bellbirds, tuis, grey warblers etc.

Firstly, once we booked we received a very informative email from the owners pointing out many tips and information our upcoming stay - this was a nice touch and very helpful. The hosts in general are excellent and have great local knowledge. Depending on which room you book, it can be a challenge to get your bags to your rooms...

We stayed here after doing one of the Waitomo Caves trips, and found it delightful. The host was very welcoming & helpful, and the room was tidy, clean, and fully equipped. Definitely a good value in this small town!

The owners make this place great. They were extremely helpful as we spent a couple of days exploring the area. They suggested places to eat (definitely try Huhu across the street!) and nearby attractions. They provided towels for black water rafting and flashlights to see the glowworms at night. Parking is easy and it's a short walk to eat. Plus...

Great location for visiting the caves, also opposite huhu cafe which is a lovely restaurant. Owners hospitable and knowledgeable about how to get the most out of our stay including a nice recommended short walk nearby. Breakfast was good, communal and social feel with time to chat with other guests. Free wifi too. Free parking.
