Helen and John were great hosts. Breakfast was delicious- try the Waitomo Eggs! Helen also helped us book our glow worm tour and knows a lot about the local area. As we were staying in winter warmth was important and we were well looked after. Heated blankets, quilt and heater in room. Thin walls may not suit some lighter sleepers...

We stayed in the swamp room, which had a lovely comfortable bed and a bath big enough for two! The owners were really friendly and breakfast was big and delicious. Make sure you ask for toast and try some of their extensive honey selection! Careful of the super steep driveway though!

We had a wonderful stay. Comfortable accommodations and great breakfast. The view of the surrounding pastures, beautifully green and shining with the morning dew was wonderful to behold. We had no issue with the steep driveway, even in our small rental car.

Very cosy and warm staying, this boutique B&B is the place to stay in Waitomo. The owners, Helen and John, are super nice and give you the best breakfast ever. The room is very comfortable and the shower unexpectedly delicious. Up in the mountain, you have the best view of the valley.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Abseil Inn Bed and Breakfast. We were greeted by Helen who is the perfect hostess and made us feel so welcome. John's breakfast in the morning was delicious! The location was perfect for visiting the caves and exploring the area.

We stayed with John and Helen for two nights as a group of 5. We loved our stay here and how could you not? Starting with the view and sunset over the hills through to to beautiful comfortable rooms and beer and wine to purchase. The breakfast was extensive and we liked the menu. The food was top quality and...

There is a very steep drive up to this B+B and the parking is a little difficult - not for people of nervous disposition! The room was adequate, individual toiletries would have been nice, there were large bottles of shower gel etc provided for visitors to share. Drinks could be made in the communal sitting/dining room but there didn't seem...

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with us. We are a bed and breakfast not a hotel. The practices that we have, such as normal sized bottles of shower gel etc and the necessiity to order a cooked breakfast the night before, are common to many bed and breakfasts we have stayed at both in NZ...

Helen is an absolute trip and John will tell you anything and everything you ever wanted to know about New Zealand honey. You definitely do not walk away hungry from their breakfast table. The rooms were nice, but a little small. There was no AC, and Abe prepared for mosquito bites. The location of the inn however is on top...

Thanks Jessica Air conditioning is one thing that we will be definitely looking at if we have another summer like this one. The high humidity over a long period is not something we have experienced before in our 13 year stay in Waitomo Caves. It was great meeting you.

We only stayed one night with John and Helen but left feeling as though we had visited friends. Perhaps we were lucky in that we were the only people staying that night so we had free run of their guest lounge and DVD collection. Their recommendation for our evening meal was spot on and breakfast the following morning was a...

We stayed with John and Helen for one night before going black water rafting. John and Helen were good hosts, recommending good restaurants and generally ensuring that we had everything that we needed and also kindly lent us towels for the caving. The Swamp Room was a good size with a powerful shower (we didn't try the bath, though it...
