I was travelling with My Mom and the owners were so sweet and accommodating of her needs. The place was spotless and the view amazing. There were workmen around while I was there but it still worked out for us and should be gorgeous for the next visitors

Myself and my partner visited Cape Town for the first time in early May this year and had the best time! The fabulous accommodation and hospitality at A Whale of a Time was a huge contributor to this. Will definitely be returning!

We just stayed for one night, but the facility was absolute immaculate. The view from the balcony - even out of you bed is stunning. Very private, as each unit have it's own entrance door from the street.

We stayed at the Stone Thatched roof cottage and we had a great time. It was a big weird when we arrived because of the stairs that goes up to the bedrooms is seperate to the downstairs cottage. So at night u lock the downstairs and go up the spiral staircase to a wonderful victorian bathroom and romantic main bedroom....

Sadly, A Whale of a Time was a big disappointment in terms of the accommodation, leaving a lot to be desired. The views, however, are quite impressive on a clear day, being on a hillside and affording views of the bay and across the bay. The boast of disabled access is very questionable - we rented the Neptunes Garden apartment...

We found this place by chance via the GPS and we were very happy that they had room. We were only able to stay 3 nights but enjoyed every moment and saw some whales just before we left. Highly recommended.

I have stayed at A Whale of a Time on 3 different occasions. Its location is perfect, easy access to all of Cape Towns tourist attractions. It has beautiful view of Cape Town and full sea view. The accommodation is very clean, serviced and is self-catering. Its value for money.

We stayed at one of the aparments in February 2014. I was very disapointed it is classed as a luxury apartment, but I would not call it so, my opinion is that it should be rated as very basic. The apartment that we had as a family was down below ground level and.We asked if there was many steps down...

We stayed for 23 days in the Neptune Garden Apartment. Spacious. Stunning view and perfect location. A great base to explore the Cape area. A short stroll along Jager's walk and you are at the great Fish Hoek beach and town. Colleen and all her staff were welcoming, friendly and so helpful. Our cleaning lady Primrose was absolutely wonderful. Great...

We stumbled upon his magnificent guesthouse when we decided not to stay in Hout Bay - what a find. Colleen looked after our family and the 3 bedroom apartment was fresh, clean, basically a home away from home. We couldn't have asked for anything more. We saw whales from our patio area and I would say Fish Hoek is a...

“The cottage we were in are lovely and very private, although all off the guest uses the swimming pool that are situated at your cottage. If you have a problem with climbing steps I recommend a suite at the main building. Luxurious! All of the suites have sea views!”

“All rooms are sea facing, behind you is a huge mountain. Have all meals on your patio and watch the sea below for whales and dolphins, we saw a school of dolphins swim past one afternoon, as well a whale basking on surface one morning, you may see all the way across the bay to Gordon's Bay and Rooielsbaai in the distance.”
