Haus Karl's Ruh is a small family run guest house in Ehrwald in the Austrian Tirol.We are located in the heart of the village, 5 minutes walk from the village centre & ski lifts, with the panoramic Wetterstein Range as our backdrop. The house was handed down to us by my Uncle & so we have an in depth knowledge of the village & the surrounding areas. Due to our location within the Zugspitz Arena we are an excellent base for walkers & climbers during in the summer months & ski/snowboard enthusiasts in the winter. The Bavarian castles of King Ludwig, Schloss Neuschwanstein & Schloss Linderhof, are 40 minutes drive away. Munich is within easy reach either by train or car & we are ideally placed for beer enthusiasts wanting to visit the 'Oktober Fest'. Innsbruck is a 50 minute drive away & Italy & Switzerland are also within driving distance.

I stayed for a long weekend in September and the location is fantastic. The zugspitz cable car and the ehrwalder almbahn are both convenient and highly recommended. The area directly outside guesthouse offers lovely shorter walks and ehrwald town is definitely worth a visit. The accommodation is traditional style although modern, spotlessly clean and well equipped. The gym was an unexpected bonus.

This is an excellent place to stay. Evelyn and Gary are terrific hosts and provided great advice in things that were going on in the area. Their accomodations were first class. We were withn walking distance to the train station and local resturants. If you're staying in the area we highly recommend staying witrh them.

The best gasthaus in Ehrwald and surroundings , Evelyn and Gary are very fine people , Always very clean rooms , Always ready to give advice. Evan after being there 10 times always love to go back. Just great !!!

This is now the fourth time I have stayed at Haus Karl's Ruh. Driving in and seeing the mountains, house and garden I was glad to have booked to come back now the restrictions have been lifted. The rooms were spotlessly clean as always and Gary and Evelyn were as friendly and as exceedingly helpful as they have been on previous stays. I cannot think of a better place to stay and getting out to the mountains while still being such a short walk to the village centre makes it ideal. I am already trying to figure out how I can get back for some snow in winter and never tire of visiting. It truly is a magical place and Haus Karl's Ruh is such a brilliant place to stay.

For the second time back again. We love the peace, the simplicity, a good breakfast and a nice and clean room. Cary and Evelyn are very friendly, they are caring and make you feel at home. The house is located in the middle of the village. Soo all is within walking distance. There are plenty of good dining options in the area. Skiing, cross country skiing, walking and much more. It’s there. Ssssssst don’t tell anyone!

For the fifth time (once summer and four times winter) spent a very nice holiday with Gary and Evelyn in Ehrwald. As always a very warm reunion with the host and hostess. An excellent breakfast, a perfectly maintained room with bathroom, beautiful view of the surroundings and super facilities for storing ski equipment. In short, a perfect holiday and we are already looking forward to a next stay with them.

Haus Karl's Ruh was such a cozy place to stay. The hosts were so hospitable and made me feel right at home. It's a 15min walk from the train station and a 5min walk to the bike rental. There are beautiful mountain views in every direction and even hiking trails and a waterfall nearby for you to explore. It's located in a cute, quiet little town perfect for taking a stroll through or grabbing a bite to eat. The breakfast was great (plenty of bread, deli items, cheese, cereals, hard boiled eggs, coffee/tea, orange juice, etc.), the bedroom and bathroom was absolutely spotless, and overall ambiance was perfect for my weekend getaway. Hope to come back someday--I would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast for anyone!

Wonderful trip to Austrian tirol. Haus Karl's ruh perfect place to stay. Hosts Evelyn and Gary work tirelessly in their very pretty beautifully maintained home. Rooms are individually decorated and furnished and spotlessly clean. They are a mine of information on the local area and go out of their way for you. Breakfast gives a huge choice of cold meats, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, rolls etc to send you on walks and bike rides in this stunning area. The village is easily accessible for cafes and restaurants. It will not be my last visit.

Gary and Evelyn will make sure you have everything you need during your stay : they are available, nice and really warm-welcoming ! In addition, you will find warm, cosy rooms that are perfectly clean (I insist on that point : it is rare to find Hotel or B&B rooms that are this clean and well prepared) The stay is in the center of the lovely Ehrwald town where you will find everything you need : from small restaurants to ski shops and grocery stores. Ideal location for your trip. I really recommand this stay.

We loved our stay here, and would love to visit again. So convenient for all the slopes, with plenty of good restaurants nearby too. Gary and Evelyn are great hosts. The breakfasts were excellent and the rooms very comfortable.
