We were a group of 12 staying at Chalet Linga in February 2020. We hadn’t been to Chatel before.

The chalet is nicer than it looks in the photos. The boot room is on the same floor as the ground floor bedrooms, the first floor is for the sitting dining room and kitchen and the second floor is for additional bedrooms. It was quite big and the rooms were spacious. There was a great log fire.

The location is brilliant, about 70m from the Linga bubble lift. When it snowed we were able to ski back to the front door - by skiing down the road! The hot tub was a high spot, overlooking the pistes - but also overlooked by the surrounding chalets. That didn’t bother us.

The food from Arron and Tristan was great and they looked after us really well. The wine was good quality and plentiful.

The ski hire went really well with them coming to the chalet and sorting everything out and dealing with changes in needs throughout the week.

We had several days of snow which was great but meant that quite a lot of the lifts wee shut and there were a lot of avalanche explosions. The slopes were very busy because it was half term for the French, Belgians and Dutch but it got quieter later in the week. The resort can’t really cope with that number of visitors so choose your week carefully.

The only downside was the WiFi and 4G signal which was very poor. This wouldn’t have mattered normally but because we were ‘snowed in’ on a couple of days it did limit our options.

But overall a terrific chalet in brilliant location in a great resort with an outstanding Alpine Breaks team. Sad to be home again!

Janis, started the holiday off brilliantly with an on time and comfortable transfer from Geneva to Linga which took around 1hr 20/30 minutes.

Upon arriving at Chalet Linga we were welcomed by Cate and Ed who were the most spectacular hosts. The Chalet itself is a beautiful property located at the foot of a red and blue run and a two minute walk from a bar/hotel making it an excellent location for skiing in and out. It has all the amenities one would need for a brilliant ski holiday but, the highlight had to be Ed's extraordinary brownies and the food that they both prepared for us each night. There is a bus that arrives every 15 minutes to take you to the heart of town where you can shop, eat or drink at any of the many bars and restaurants (ask for a Naomi at bar avalanche).

I would 100% recommend this chalet to groups of friends or families.

This was our first time at Chalet Linga, and what a fantastic experience from start to finish! Communication from Darren and his resort manager, Naomi, was professional and helpful, especially given the uncertainties with the borders! On arrival at the chalet, we were greeted by balloons, party hats and an AMAZING cake, as it was the birthday of one of our party! Our chalet hosts, Ed and Cate were outstanding throughout. They catered for our every need, and were friendly and jolly, whilst remaining entirely professional. The meals were of a very high standard, and we looked forward to the delicious afternoon cakes and beautiful canapés every evening! The chalet itself was warm, clean and cosy, with plenty of space to relax and chat. The hot tub was a particular hit, as we could relax in it whilst waving at the more determined members of the group razzing down Linga! The bus into town is just outside the chalet, so we were able to go shopping and for a few beers in town, and get the night bus back. Darren was an absolute diamond, and responded immediately to any requests or queries we had. He even took us out on a skiing adventure for a few hours, and was extremely patient and professional with us, whilst having a good many chuckles! We genuinely felt gutted to be heaving, as we had been made so very welcome. Roll on next year…… booked it before we left!

We were due to travel with Alpine Breaks to their beautiful chalet in Chatel in Feb 2021. We had originally booked with another company but their lack of flexibility regarding the current pandemic resulted in us getting in contact with Darren who has been fantastic and sets the standard for professionalism and customer service.

We are so disappointed that we are unable to travel to stay with Alpine Breaks this year but have been able to reschedule our holiday without hassle or confrontation. Darren has been accommodating for our group needs and has been very helpful and punctual throughout the changing situations due to the pandemic.

We are delighted to be booked for 2022 and cannot recommend highly enough Darren and Alpine Breaks.

If you are looking to book for 2022 a ski holiday in a beautiful chalet with a ski company that is exceptional then look no further than Alpine Breaks.

Chalet Linga is a beautiful, spacious, clean and well located chalet that hosted 13 of us for an amazing ski holiday. It was cosy, comfortable and looked out onto the Linga ski slope, which was a beautiful view.
The star of the show for us, was the service from the hosts Ed and Cate. They immediately made us feel welcome and at home. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and we were treated with some amazing meals, service and laughs. Thank you so much for an unforgettable stay!

Fabulous week in Chalet Linga, super chalet with hot tub and plenty of space, en-suite rooms and a fabulous menu, served by 2 amazing young people with outstanding manners and efficiency. Ski in and out chalet right next to the Linga bubble lift. Everything arranged for us-lift passes and ski hire delivered to the chalet. I would definitely recommend Alpinebreaks as a top class holiday company. A much needed holiday that did not let us down, see you next year!

Chalet Linga and Alpine Breaks, run by Darren. We were a group of 12/13 people. Both skiiers and non-skiiers. Katie is a fabulous chef , the sort of girl who it's impossible to take the smile off her face. Chris is the host and general helper around the chalet and they make a great team. Katie's pudding souffle and French Onion Soup were unbeatable. Darren goes the extra mile to help everyone have a wonderful time and Sam helped with the airport transfers. Never again will we go with a large impersonal operator.

A warm welcome greeted 14, heavily laden Ski enthusiasts at Geneva airport! The transfers were as flawless as the accommodation, food, and service! What a great place, in a great spot, right next to a lift, run by great bunch of caring people. Highly recommended.

We had a fantastic week here, four families with kids and we fitted in like peas in a pod. Lovely rooms, great view of the main slope in Linga from the hot tub where everyone ended up each day, beer in hand! The highlight though was perhaps Chris and Katie, the wonderful chalet couple. Their cheerful nature was a delight and the kids adored them both. Katie makes the most delicious cakes each day and her tartiflette was to die for. We would return in a flash (and might even track down where Katie and Chris end up next season just to have them again as our hosts!)

Thank you so much for your kind words and so glad you really enjoyed your Alpinebreaks chalet experience. Chris and Katie have been wonderful throughout this year and really have that great ethic we all strive for as a team here with Alpinebreaks. The cooking and cakes we recognise as the way to our guests heart ;-) Although we do not get thanked for the extra weight put on in the week lol Chalet Linga is in a prime location and to be able to watch those coming down the pistes, whilst you sit in the hot tub with drink in hand, is second to no where. Thank you so much once again for your visit and we do hope to see you again very soon....hopefully with Chris and Catie ;-) Darren and the Alpinebreaks team

This accommodation has everything I would want in a catered chalet: proximity to the slopes, comfy bed, good wholesome food, great cake, a hot tub, beer and access to a couple of local bars. Darren was incredibly accommodating with regards to arranging transfers for me as I was arriving and leaving at a different time to the others in my group. He is very personable, easy company with good communications. Katie and Chris, our chalet hosts, were charming, fun, efficient, helpful and looked after the cleanliness of the chalet with aplomb. If I'm being picky, attention to tiny details occasionally lacked and fresh baguettes would have been nicer for breakfast rather than the odd "wooly" sliced bread for toast, hence the 4 rather than the 5 blob rating. Despite that I would definitely stay here again

What are the connections to the town like if you want to get to Chatel in the evening?

The bus stop is very close by and buses go reasonably frequently, but finish I think at 10. However you only need to go out one night a week on chalet staff night off.
