My friends and I (10 of us in total) had the most fabulous time skiing in Chatel and being looked after by Alpine Breaks in January. We have never been to a catered chalet before but we will never do it differently again! First of all the chalet was stunning, clean and comfortable for us all and with a view from a postcard. The rooms were all a good size so we didn’t need to fight over who had the best one but we mostly spent time in the pool or chilling round the coffee table playing games. Darren’s team were wonderful, I’m not sure how Laura managed to cook such delicious meals for us twice a day and bake a fresh cake for when we got back from a days skiing but she never seemed stressed or flustered for a second. Laura, Tom and Dan were always friendly and bantered along with us and were also able to give us tips on the best slopes to ski, bars to go to and Dan came to pick us up an extra five mins early every morning to help me with my ski boots. Out of the group I was an absolute beginner (stupidly picking up boarding the previous trip), Darren’s team organised my lessons and instructor before we arrived who turned out to be a legend around town and the best instructor I could have hoped for - I know him and Darren have been working together for 10+ years, yay Fifi!! Looking forward to comping back next year and hopefully being looked after Darren and his team next year! …

Just back from a week at chalet lac des vonnes. Had a fabulous time. We were superbly looked after by Darren & his team. Special shout out to Lucas & Leah who were our hosts for the week. Amazing cooks. 4 course meals each night & a freshly baked cake each afternoon on return from the slopes. We certainly didn’t go hungry. They made us feel very welcome. Lovely cosy chalet - very nice & clean with beautiful views out to the valley below. Many thanks 😀

Me and my family have just returned from a wonderful holiday. We had the best chalet hosts we could have asked for. Food was great, chalet had everything you could need and more including a log burner, hot tub and the most amazing views. We wouldnt hesitate to return!! Thank you for the best time!!

Stayed here recently for a weeks cycling, and would suggest if you appreciate the personal touch then this is the place for you. Beautiful alpine chalet minutes from town centre, adjacent to Lac de Vonnes. Rooms were spotlessly clean and very well appointed for all our needs. Darren and Naomi looked after us incredibly well, food was plentiful and top quality. Darrens guidance on the trails almost left us not needing a map!!😜 Will certainly look at returning for the ski season for sure!

Just back from a week of MTB staying in Chalet Lac de Vonnes and had a fantastic time. After staying there 11 years ago I can say that Darren and the team have made the experience even better than the last time I was there! Fantastic food, lovely chalet and great mountain biking in the area with some ‘cheeky’ trails that Darren was able to show us. Can’t wait to get back there again!

I had the pleasure of staying with Darren at his chalet over the weekend. The chalet was clean and had all the amenities you’d have at home, it’s spacious and has stunning views of the mountains. Darren was a great host, he’s knowledgable about the area and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was stunning even though we’d failed to give him notice about one of the group being a Vegan. The team took everything in their stride and delivered Vegan and Vegetarian food as well as meat dishes to a very high standard. I look forward to my next stay.

Fabulous location and lovely chalet with great rooms and facilities, really couldn't ask for a better base to stay for portes du solleil MTB...Great staff, and Darren is a great host. The food is simply great, will certainly be back. The view from the balcony and living room is just stunning....

This was not my first visit to Chalet Lac de Vonnes, in fact I have been many times before staying with Alpine Breaks in this and other chalets they operate in Châtel. This stay, like all others, was superb. Our hosts, James & Evie, were a delight and left us wanting for nothing. The food they prepared for us was without doubt restaurant quality with great variation. Darren, the owner, and his delightful wife Sioban, were also fabulous hosts ensuring that this holiday, like all others, was truly fabulous. Highly recommended for sure.

Our 5 nights of freshly prepared 4 course meals for you, combined with you being able to explore the village restaurants on 2 other nights has meant people finding this a great balance. It has also meant that people are complaining of not losing weight on their ski holiday ;-) lol. Having read the previous reviews I can concur that the owner is “Strange” strangely captivating, gregarious and a fantastic host!! We both had a fantastic stay and made some great new friends 😎 Huckleberry was the 💫 of the experience in a great chalet, staffed by very well trained staff. Would highly reccomend:- This is my second time here ! 1) Fantastic bespoke service -from pick up to drop off. Darren the owner of Alpine breaks is a friendly, attentive and energetic gentleman who goes above for his clients tailoring the holiday to their needs . Even going soo far to give me tea in a mug 😊 thanks Darren. 2) Amazing food - our chalet hostess Evie produced fantastic food at restaurant level, amazing skill at such a young age . We all looked forward to our meals every evening ! 3) Cosy accommodation -amazing decor , quiet ,loved the hot tub ! We wake up in the morning and want to do our best for you. If you enjoy yourselves, so do we and positive energy is infectious. Our 4 course meal in the evening for 5 nights of your stay is freshly made by our team of aspiring chefs. We recruit from Cooking schools and each year we continue to learn.
