We stayed here for one week. The apartments are described as "luxury suites" however I wouldn't describe them as luxury. Our room (no. 6) was ground floor with a patio area consisting of a small table & 2 chairs to sit at with a glass of wine in the evening. Walking in to the apartment you see a kitchenette on the left, which was a 2 ringed hob, a sink, a fridge, one saucepan, 2 medium plates, 2 mugs and a few bits of cutlery. Next is the bathroom which had sink toilet & shower. It was very dark in the shower as one light was not working. There is a hairdryer on the wall, circa 1980 style which was useless. There is a window in the bathroom which opens on to next door's patio, which was not ideal, no privacy for us or next door. Next to the bathroom is a corner wardrobe with a number of hangers and one shelf. There are bedside tables for a little more storage. While the decor was nice, there are a number of areas that could be modernised and improved on to make it more "luxurious". This is the only thing that lets them down.
The staff, Yanna & Panos were wonderful, they looked after everyone so well. The cleaning staff were lovely, and our room was cleaned daily, and fresh bedding and towels provided. The breakfast was good, a selection of fruits, Greek yoghurt, continental selection of meets, cheese & stuffed vine leaves. Cooked breakfast consisted of eggs cooked to your choice (except poached) bacon and sausage. Tea, coffee & juices. It was very pleasant to have breakfast by the pool under cover from the hot sun (in the 30's when we were there)
The sun beds are heavy steamer beds which have seen better days. There are a few around the pool, then an area up a few steps where there are 2 more, but no shade. On the other side of the pool upstairs there is a few beds again no shade, and a jacuzzi.
There is a supermarket just a few minutes away where you can get your supply of water you'll need for making a cuppa as the tap water is undrinkable.
There are plenty of places to go & eat & drink in walking distance, either on the beach front or the Main Street with plenty of choice. A great location for seeing the sun rise, buses are every 20 mins and €2.20 if you want to get around the island and get to see the amazing sunsets too. It is so easy to get to see all of the island. You can also hire a car, or quad bikes, e-bikes or mopeds which all seemed very popular.
Perissa is a great place to stay, it has a relaxed, chilled vibe and the people are so friendly. We were glad we chose here rather than the busier areas on the island such as Oia & Fira which are beautiful to visit but quite opulent and over priced. Al in all we enjoyed our stay.

This story starts back in May when I reached out to Meltemi to help me propose to my partner of four years. Almost immediately, the wonderful, yet best host I've ever had, Athena came to the rescue.

Athena recommended restaurants and a photographer to capture the proposal. Fast forward to our check-in in September, Athena recommended places to eat, visit, and explore - and even helped me get to Imerovigli to execute a discreet yet perfect engagement.

Athena went above and beyond each day to prepare fresh greek breakfasts and give all the necessary dietary information. She organised champagne to our room with compliments and made the trip for us. Our heart and story is now shared to Santorini, and Meltemi, but mostly this goes out to Athena for making our dream a reality.

Meltemi Suites is tucked away and perfectly situated in the middle of the main Perissa strip and Perissa beach. With only 16 rooms on site, the pool was empty every day (we were the only guests there most days) but I recommend paying extra to have a suite with private whirlpool. We spent some days just outside on the balcony soaking up the sun and cooling off in the jacuzzi. (Room 13 is tucked away from all the guests in the corner and gets most the sun for bathing, but the whirlpool goes into the shade around 14:00).

This is no doubt the best hotel I've stayed in abroad for so many reasons and the fact it is adults only, ensures a relaxing and calming experience with proper Greek Traditions.

We found the best places to eat:

Grandma's Recipes (proper Gyros)
Ntomatini (fish to die for)
Le' Moustache (Imerovigli)

If you just want a drink and to watch sports, Dorian's offers all cocktails at €5 each, or the Meltemi Bar which also provides big food portions for the money.

Ode to Santorini and Meltemi x

We have just returned from the meltemi suites and had a lovely relaxing break. The rooms are kept clean as they are cleaned everyday. The bathroom and small kitchenette are outdated and they in need of an upgrade, this will make such a difference to the comfort of these rooms. We stayed in a suite, number 11, with a whirlpool which was lovely to chill out in. The grounds are very pretty and well kept. The pool area is very quiet and is deserted most of the time, there is not much ambiance and no snacks are served In the day but you can get a cold beer or a coffee, so maybe people head out to the beach each day, which is a 5 min walk away. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, very tasty fresh omelettes and croissants with jam. The breakfast ordering is a bit confusing, as you have to complete a sheet the day before to say what you would like, but it’s a bit hit and miss as to what turns up. My husband asked for bacon and only got this once out of our seven days. But what we did get was fresh and tasty. Athena and all the other staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Athena arranged for a surprise bottle of Prosecco in our room for my husbands birthday, this was a nice surprise. We enjoyed our stay here and were made to feel very welcome.

After over 18 months without a holiday, we were so glad to finaly be away. And we could not of asked for a more peaceful place to rest. We were greated warmly from the second we arrived. After the check in we were taken to our suite with whirlpool. We were shown around the complex and explained about breakfast. Breakfast was a cold buffet with hot options and a time slot booked on check in. Everyday the hot options were served fresh and on time. Could not fault the selection and safety of wearing masks and gloves whilst obtaining cold food and drinks. The pool area is so peaceful and never busy, their was a pool bar serving drinks all day and early evening. The location is spot on less than 5 mins to the beach and same to the main road. The lady that ran the hotel was always on hand to answer questions and lend you a big knife to carve the local bread! She genuialy cared that you had everything and were enjoying your stay. And was on hand to help print off plf forms and boarding passes! This is exactly what it says cute, small, local greek feel with no entertainment and a lovely adult only relaxing atmosphere. Will return again!!

Absolutely brilliant stay.

Yanna and Panos can’t do enough for you during your stay. Excellent service from all members of staff at the hotel.

Breakfast has plenty of choice with hot food (eggs, bacon and sausage) available if you order the night before.

Rooms cleaned daily and very spacious. They could maybe do with modernising, especially the bathroom. Our only negative from the stay would be the shower - not the best. We stayed in room 13 with the whirlpool on the terrace, it had sun all day and plenty of room to relax all day there if you wanted to.

Great location in Perissa with access to the beach road with plenty of restaurants to choose from in one direction and in the other direction the back road with more bars, restaurants, supermarket and the local bus stop to take you into Thira.

Yanna helped us with booking a car for the day which we would highly recommend to see the rest of the island as taxis can be expensive. She also had plenty of recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to eat at.

After finally visiting Santorini , having previously been cancelled two years running thanks to covid, we couldnt have chosen a better place to stay.! Meltemi suites are a small complex ideally situated 2 minutes from the black sandy, gritty beach and 2 minutes from an array of seafront restaurants. The suites are all slightly different in design, but all very pretty situated around a small courtyard. Some come with a jaccuzi tub and theres a seperate jaccuzi on the roof terrace for all guests to use, although theres no shade. Theres a small crescent shaped pool , very welcome in the heat of the day.! As many others have stated the jewel in the crown is the lovely Athena who runs the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she tries to fulfill any request. She will book trips for you, restuarants , taxis etc and is very thorough in answering any questions you may ask. One of our party has special dietry requirments and Athena would try to cater for her and explain what foods she could or couldnt eat at breakfast, and gave her some recipes for the delicious greek dishes for her to make at home. It is a 150 yard walk from the main road to the hotel as the coach cannot get down the side road but no real problem and if it was an issue you can book a private transfer. So if your looking for a quiet ,tranquil, adults only hotel i can highly recommend Meltemi Suites and if and when we return to beautiful Santorini we will definitely stay at the Meltemi suites in Perissa.!! Thank you Athena and all your staff. xx

This was our second stay at Meltemi Suites - the first being in 2019 before covid. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. There was even a bottle of Prosecco awaiting us in our room with a personalised note!
We stayed in room 15 which was a studio and in our opinion the best room there.
It had its own outdoor jacuzzi, sun loungers on the large balcony and a table and chairs where we enjoyed breakfast etc.
Athena is the perfect hostess. She is so warm and welcoming, she helped us with car hire, places to visit on the island, restaurant recommendations etc.
We had booked our Wedding Blessing at Santo Winery and Athena helped us with booking transport there and back on the day. When we returned to our room afterwards she had gone to the trouble of making it super special with decorations, flowers, a bottle of Prosecco etc. So thoughtful!
The rooms are spotless which is due to the fantastic housekeeping staff who are very friendly too.
Breakfast can be taken in the small dining room, outside by the pool or if you want, there are trays provided if you want to take it to your room. There is a good variety from hot food to pastries, salad, cheese and meats.
We love this place so much and have booked our return visit for next year already!

Yanna Yanna Yanna Oi Oi Oi

My girlfriend and I (31 and 29) stayed at the perfect luxury meltemi suites for one week at the end of September/start of October.

We booked and flew with TUI.
When we arrived at Santorini we opted of a private taxi to the hotel (recommend) cost us 45 euro but we got there within 20 min so 100% worth it. - if you do this make sure you tell the TUI rep so others aren’t waiting for you.

Arriving at the hotel was a memory I won’t ever forget. It was beautiful and Yanna was waiting to greet us. She showed us to our room and instantly gave us a very warm greeting.

We stayed in room 12 with a whirlpool and it was really nice. We didn’t really use the whirlpool too much but that is simply because Perissa beach is stunning also and we spent most our time here.

The beach is a 5 min walk from the hotel with a 2 mile strip of restaurants, cafes and bars.

Santorini itself is mint! The island is only 33km from top to bottom so a quad/buggy is 100% necessary during your stay.

We loved every second of our holiday and want to thank Yanna and Pannos for being a part of it. See you soon!

We recently stayed here for a week and the hotel was everything we needed. It is located down a quiet side road which is two minute walk left to the main road/bus stop and two minute walk right to the beach with lots of other restaurants and bars. Everything in Perissa is within walking distance.

The communal areas within the hotel were very clean and our room was cleaned daily. We had a ground floor room with a small patio area. We did not have a plunge pool but there is a communal plunge pool on the roof terrace which is always quiet. The main pool is very quiet too and you can always get a sun bed.

The hotel is small with only 16 rooms which gives it a family run feel. We were very well looked after with a free bottle of prosecco given to us on arrival as one of our party was celebrating a birthday, a very kind gesture. There was a good variety of hot and cold food for breakfast including pastries, cheese and meats, bacon, eggs, toast etc.

We would definitely stay here again if we returned to Perissa.

We had a very relaxing and special week in this small hotel which is beautifully and warmly run by Athena and her team. Athena is an amazing host, nothing is too much trouble. She was able to help with anything from booking the boat trip around the Caldera, to advising the best spots on the beach to swim. On hearing I was vegetarian, she went out of her way to ensure there was a special vegetarian dish. She is a lovely, warm hearted person.

If you are looking for something low key with a secluded feel I can definitely recommend Meltemi Suites. Hope to return one day.
