We had a wonderful fortnight here! Everything about it was perfect: the location, our studio, the food and drink, the pool and, above all, the staff. Paula, Stefanos, their family and staff looked after us very well. It is all very reasonably priced too. I would highly recommend Lassia to anyone and we will definitely return.

Just got back after another fabulous two weeks at the Lassia Studios in Petra, Lesvos. As usual we were made to feel very welcome by owners Ruth and her daughter Paula as they have done for the last twenty years that we have been going there. They had saved our usual room for us, which like all of them are spacious, modern and beautifully furnished with great beds (ours had three), fabulous bathroom and shower, fully equipped Kitchenette and a large furnished balcony with a great view over Petra to one side to watch the fabulous sunsets they have there and a panoramic view of the hills the other. The housekeeping kept the room immaculate throughout our stay. All the rooms are scattered throughout the gardens in small blocks giving the feel of a small village. We stayed for two weeks starting Sat the 4th May 2019. We booked again through Love Holidays, flew from Birmingham with Thomas Cook and we had a hire car waiting for us at the airport from Anthony’s in Petra. We always ask Anthony for the deliverer of the car to wait with it for our arrival to drive us back to the Lassia so we can have a glass of red with the meal on the flight, this is done at no additional charge. The journey as usual both ways went very smoothly. Our main reason to visit the island is to see the fabulous bird life which is everywhere and because the island is not huge is very accessible and driving is easy as the roads are excellent with very little traffic. On these trips we meet many locals who are always very friendly. When we do have a ‘quiet’ day there is nothing better than relaxing by and having a cooling dip in the beautiful pool. Petra is as good a place as any on the island for birdwatching and is very close to the locations of some of the most sought after birds such as Ruppells Warbler, Great Spotted Cuckoo and Roller. As well as being close enough to the Saltpans in Kalloni Bay. We saw 149 different species this year, just fabulous! Petra has dozens of great restaurants and shops set in a wonderful atmospheric and authentic Greek setting, undeveloped, indeed it is virtually unchanged in the last twenty years. It is great to go out to the restaurants in the evening but for us who are often out all day this is where the Lassia excels, food is excellent, all home cooked and is better than the restaurants in the village, so after spending a long day out we can have our meal chilling either by the beautiful pool with the scent of Roses and other flowering shrubs in Ruth’s garden, or dine in the restaurant and afterwards sit in the comfort of the bar/lounge. The Lassia has not disappointed in twenty years, birdwatcher or not, it makes an excellent base for exploring this wonderful island paradise. We can’t wait to be back in 2020.

We received a very warm welcome from the owners of The Lassia. Our apartment was light and spacious. Excellent beds, modern bathroom, large terrace with good seating. The housekeeping was impeccable and all of the staff were delightful and helpful. The meals we had in the restaurant were delicious. If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing, comfortable play to stay I would strongly recommend the Lassia. It is also a very good base to travel from and explore other parts of this beautiful island.

Lassia hotel is situated 1Km from the town of Petra 10 minutes walk to the town and is set in a quiet relaxing Greek style village. All the rooms are self catering and have a large balcony overlooking the town and the sea, The food is excellent with a wide choice and if you require something to your taste then it will be made that way for you. The pool is clean and inviting. The staff are eager to please nothing is too much trouble. Pelagia ( Paula ) owner/manager is a family woman with good English. Her mother Ruth also Owner of the hotel makes you feel very much relaxed and at home with traditional Greek food cooked fresh daily. Many on site facilities include free WiFi, fax, money exchange, credit/Debit card, tv and telephones in all the rooms. also air conditioning for a small extra cost. The Lassia Hotel is ideal for couples who just want to relax and unwind or families. The rooms are clean and very spacious with laundry changed every other day. Bins are emptied daily.

Returned to Lassia for my 22nd year as usual I was greeted with a warm friendly welcome. Arrived to find more improvements to the rooms and facilities with plans for more work to be carried out at a later date. The room was very spacious and airy with air conditioning, a TV and a telephone. Clean bed linen and towels every other day and bins emptied daily. Well equipped kitchenette and dining facilities if you wish to cater for yourself. Large balcony terrace with beautiful views of Petra and the sea. Petra is 10 minutes walk to the beach and tavernas supermarkets and bars. I loved the entire experience but hated having to leave.

Another stay at Lassia apartments found friendly staff with the warmest of welcomes from the owners. The Room was clean bright and spacious with facilities to cater for yourself if you wish. Situated just a 10 minute stroll from the town Lassia is set out like a typical Greek village and gives you the feeling of being home with family. On site is a swimming pool with sun beds parasols a pool side bar and restaurant, excellent cuisine and a wide choice on the menu and specials board. All tastes are catered for and nothing is too much trouble. They also have currency changing facilities with card machines and fax machines if you require them. The hotel also has the use of safes for your valuables if you need them. Bins are emptied daily in the rooms and clean towels every other day with clean bed linen 2 times a week. Lassia is in need of a little TLC with some maintainance required but nothing to spoil your stay. Beautiful views from the higher rooms and easy access for physically challenged people in the lower rooms. The rooms are equipped with T.V Telephone AC and cooking facilities.

Myself & wife stayed at Lassia Studios for a week in September. We booked through Low Cost Holidays & we believed the Studios to be centrally in Petra. It is a good 15 minute walk into the village ! The pool area is not very good & not many people used it while we were there. It did not luck inviting. The studios were very good - they have been done out in the last year or so & we could not fault it with a large balcony overlooking the village of Petra & the sea - very nice. The owners are friendly although we did have some confusion at first as to if we had indeed booked & paid for breakfast. We loved Petra with its lovely restaurants. The village takes you back some 20 years compared with other Greek Islands as it has missed the great over commercialisation.. You can get the small road train or bus into Molyvos which is about 5 miles away. Molyvos is very picturesque with a castle & a lovely harbour & again some nice reasonably priced restaurants. We got a taxi from the airport which is about an hour away & we used Lesbos Taxis. They gave us fantastic service. They were there waiting to pick us up when we arrived & again spot on for the return to the airport. They have there own website & I would recommend to everyone. Overall Lesbos is definately worth a visit with Thomas Cook flights on Saturday from Birmingham,Manchester & Gatwick.. It is a big island & we only saw a glimpse of it on our first visit. We did see quite a few of the much publicised immigrants passing through Lesbos but this did not detract from our holiday & this should not put anyone off visiting Lesbos in 2016

Just spent an amazing 2 weeks at the Lassia Studios Petra. Wow what a place! The apartments have recently had a make over and are outstanding. For seasoned travellers to Greece showers are quite often hand held and just a shower curtain, the showers here are fully enclosed cubicles with a rainforest shower head (what an unexpected pleasure). The bedrooms are large and spacious with large fitted modern wardrobes and colour coordinated bedding. Truly outstanding. The apartments are 15 minutes out Petra, but a 15 minute stroll through some olive groves brings you out in the village (torch a must if you use this route in the dark as it is unlit). Paula and her family are really helpful, nothing is to much trouble for them. The apartments are not in any travel brochures. I can't recommend them enough.
