We stayed here the last week of September and had a lovely time.

It is roughly 15 mins from Faliraki (turn left out of hotel) but there is also a bus stop right outside of the hotel towards Faliraki/Rhodes (opposite side of road to the hotel) and towards Lindos (same side as hotel)

I emailed them before we arrived as wouldn't get to the hotel till pass midnight and they advised they will be open and waiting for us.

When we got there at roughly 00:30, they had big smiles and very welcoming.

Every morning we got a hello, we paid for late checkout (€20) which is till 8pm but they told us we can have it till we were picked up at 10pm.

Aircon is €30 for the week but it was comfortable in till the last 2 days so paid €5 for each day.

The room was amazing and lovely, I do think we had a modernised room (309) which comprises of 2 bedroom, small kitchen and bathroom. Each bedroom had its own balcony.

The pool area was nice, enough sun beds and shades (they are both a little tired), the food area was good, plenty of seats to sit in the sun or shade.

Personally think the breakfast was to expensive, for 2 and 2 soft drinks it was over €20, we only had Gyros for lunch which were lovely. 2 of these and 2 soft drinks came to €13 which is great as even when we went into town they were about the same price.

All the staff were so nice and lovely, they organizers a quad bike for us and even told the man off when he was late lol.

All in all I was very pleased with the hotel and stay and I would go back.

I would also advise there is about 5 cats there, they are all friendly but still watch you eat, I recommend not feeding them as saw sunshine do this and they followed then around.

We have just had a lovely week at Achousa , Rhodes. We arrived in the early hours after an eight hour delay from Manchester, tired , stressed and disillusioned , we were greeted with a smile by the owner and made to feel very welcome .
Initial impressions of the accommodation is that it is dated and is basic but during our stay we had clean sheets and towels every day . If you did not bring your own pool towel (as they do take up a lot of room in your case) then Achousa have a basket of clean pool towels in reception for you to borrow for the duration of your stay . Accessories such as hairdryers , toasters , irons and safe boxes are also available from reception. Stephen who runs the hotel is very helpful in all aspects and will assist with any queries .
The pool snack bar , run by Maria and her family is an absolute gold mine . We ate there every day , a good variety of breakfast, lunch snacks and meals for the evening , Greek and English . Maria herself is a beautiful soul who treats everyone as family .
Pool is good going from shallow to deep enough to dive . It could benefit from a clean but it is coming to the end of the holiday season. Plenty of sunbeds no fighting or getting up with the birds to put your towel out .
The only two negatives if any are that you have to pay for air conditioning but when you do its well worth it . The other negative is the lack of a microwave in self catering apartments .
It was our wedding anniversary while we were at Achousa and Maria and her family made the evening very special .

We have stayed here for a week ,a last minute hols with friends and we have enjoyed it .Easy check in on arrival, staff very friendly and helpful, the ladies at the pool bar work very hard ,I think Maria that runs it can not do enough for you .
Pool bar is nice ,beers always served in ice glasses and the food is cooked fresh , breakfast is continental but other breakfast can be cooked .Nice pool area with plenty of sunbeds and nobody rushes up to get beds ,even though I'm writing this on a bed at 6 in the morning!
Rooms , we had a back facing room which ok is not the best view but gets the morning sun so nice to sit on the balcony with a coffee .The only thing I would say is out the back it doesn't look like it gets any attention from ground staff / maintenance, there is clothing been blown over the balcony out the back also a old condom! That's been here all week ! But it's not spoilt our time here at all maybe just a area that needs looking at as it's your view for the week . The room inside is ok a little dated and could do with a update ,it comes with Ensuite and you pay extra charge for air con .
This hotel is situated well just off the main road so ideal for buses as a stop right outside. It's 5 mins in a taxi to the main strip and cost 10 Euro .Its also a 30 minute walk to Anthony Quinn / Ladiko Bay which is a must if staying in Rhodes .

The Achousa Hotel is a 3 star Hotel with a 5 star service and its owners are by far the friendliest most accommodating individuals you will ever meet from Stellios (Steve) on front desk to the beautiful Maria who cooks all for you with such care and consideration all being made fresh, from the batter for your waffles to the juice in your cup (which is freshly squeezed), the rooms are dated yes, but the cleanliness of the property and the rooms are impeccable beyond anything i have ever experienced before.

I have worked in hospitality for many years and my own cleaning business so i would say that I am able to give a true and honest experience with service and cleanliness expectations.

Our room were serviced daily by housekeeping, and even when i lost the room key, rather then have me feel a nuisance Stellios was able to set my mind at ease and not make a fuss.

The setting itself is quiet and off the main high way, the pool never had any more then a few people in at a time and there was no need to worry about getting a lounger.

Due to the doors and age off you could hear people in the corridors and i am a light sleeper but never once was disturbed by other guests.

The walk down to Faliraki is about 10 minutes in a straight line and the main bus is outside the hotel, with buses every 20 minutes there is no issue in traveling from one end of the island to the other.

If you want a boutique room and somewhere for aesthetic bathroom mirror selfies then the Achousa is not for you, but if you want somewhere peaceful where you can relax switch off from the stress of life back home then the Achousa is highly recommended.

For content I was with a group of 35 people for a wedding of whom stayed in another location in a four star hotel in Faliraki and they have a list of issues accounting for 22 complaints in all and for the small independent hotel that is the Achousa i have not one issue or complaint, rooms were dated yes but as mentioned impeccable, the water pressure was better then any power shower, the food cooked with care and you could taste the effort that Maria Her Husband and Team put into the food, Stellios and his partner were accommodating with any and all request within an instant.

This is my 3rd time to the island and first in the Achousa, and i will be returning.

Thank you to all the Team and Staff for making what already feels like home on the island to home in your hotel, i wish you all the best in the future and will see you again.

This hotel is one of the best places I have ever stayed and is incredible for a budget holiday. The family that run this place are some of the most helpful and loveliest people that can’t do enough for you.

We arrived late and in a huge panic as my Mum had picked up the wrong suitcase from the airport. We rushed and checked in and Steven who is always on the front desk got us a taxi in 10 minutes. Stavros was a legend who not only got us there quick but even went into the airport with us incase we needed help. When we came back we had a lovely cold pint from the fabulous Susie and we were ready to start our holiday!

The rooms are like stepping into a time machine to the 70’s and 80’s and I feel like this adds to the charm. They are extremely clean and the maids come every day except Sunday where they still change the towels.

Steven is just the most hardworking and wonderful man who can never do enough for you. He never seems to sleep and always has a smile and is sometimes joined by his lovely wife Maria. We had a problem with the drain over flowing which was remedied and we asked for extra pillows which we were given.

We were also made aware of the boat trips at reception and booked the trip to Lindos which I highly recommend! We paid extra for the air conditioning and to have a later check out and it was definitely worth it.

We enjoyed salads and breakfasts on our balcony as well as a few drinks and Ice is always available from Susie or Maria at the pool bar where we had a couple of lovely meals. This family make the hotel and they are so incredibly helpful and lovely!

The pool area is fabulous with a large pool and lilos and bat and balls left over for guests to play with. There are also some gorgeous cats the hotel looks after.

Faliraki beach is a good 20 minutes walk but we always had a drink at the Alabama on the way. We also trekked 30 mins to Anthony Quinn bay and Ladiko to watch the sun rise. I also recommend Taverna Lelis nearby for some tasty traditional Greek food

All in all If you are after a budget hotel with a fantastic location that has good connections and amazing staff this is the one for you! Thank you Steve and family we will definitely be back!!

We booked this hotel through on the beach and we wasn't disappointed. A 3 star hotel with 5 star service. We arrived here well after midnight and were greeted by a lovely man Steve who sorted our rooms for us. Bearing in mind the wildfires started, and they were experiencing on and off power cuts but we were still greeted with a smile and he was on hand to help with any questions we had. Nothing was ever too much. You could ask for extra towels or pillows and they brought them straight to you. This lovely little place is located away from Falaraki strip but close enough to walk into Falaraki, maybe 10 mins. It has a lovely pool and plenty of sun loungers. There is a snack bar that serves breakfasts, lunch, snacks, this is open all day from early to late evening. The staff are so nice and the food is delicious. There are drinks in the coolers, soft drinks or alcohol. Also located on site is a small shop to pick up a few essentials like bread, milk water, crisps etc. There is a bar on site that serves a wide selection of drinks, there's a large T.V outside and a pool table. The rooms are immaculate. Please do remember this is a 3* hotel but you can't find fault with the service or the housekeeping. It may only be 3 * but the service is definitely a huge 5*s Towels are changed everyday along with the rooms being cleaned daily with fresh bedding. This really was an amazing place to stay. They are so knowledgeable of the area and will help you find great places to eat and places to visit that pull you away from the touristy places. We attended a Greek night that they booked for us and it was an amazing experience. They also sorted quad hire for us for the week. Amazing experience by all our family. Steve and Maria and there family are beautiful people who made the stay outstanding. Wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again. Thank you for the great experience guys.

I’ve just come back from a weeks break at this hotel and honesty I can’t really fault it. The staff are lovely. The hotel room is basic but very clean, beds comfy, air on is available at a cheap rate.

The food from the snack bar was absolutely lovely and cooked to your order. The lady who serves the drinks at the bar in the evening is lovely and friendly. Reception are friendly and very informative on places to see, boat trips etc.

We did the 3 hour boat trip and booked via the hotel, we were picked up and taken to the boat which was a fantastic trip and the lady was waiting for us when we got off the boat and honestly was the best €70 spent.

It is a little bit of a walk into Faliraki but I would say this would only be a hinderance to people with mobility issues as it’s a fairly easy walk and we went to the beach nearly every day and back to get showered and walked back into Faliraki for meals too so honestly not too bad but if you find it hot just get a taxi for €5-7

I would come back in a heartbeat

We stayed here at half board for a week and loved every minute!
The rooms are basic, no TV, but clean and ery comfortable. After all, you only sleep in the room so what else do you need.
Air con is an extra €30 a week, and safe deposit boxes are an extra €10 a week. We had both, why not...its a holiday.
The pool and bar areas are lovely and welcoming. This is the place that breakfast and meals were served.
Breakfast for us was continental, the evening meal was Greek dish each night and was great! BBQ night on Fridays was outstanding!
The hotel is clean and tidy, our room was cleaned almost every day.
But the best thing about this place are the staff! Maria is fabulous, and her son Savas (apologies if thats spelt wrong) and her husband and daughter too. Stefano and his wife run the pool and bar and were so lovely.
Maria also makes the best Negroni cocktail ive had ! And kept us fed with bar snacks!
Its a family run hotel, very warm and friendly, and we cant wait to stay here again!
The bus to Rhodes and Lindos runs along the main road, and the bus stops were at the bottom of the hotels drive.
There are also buses to Anthony Quinn Bay, and Ladiko Bay .
It was a perfect getaway, we met some lovely people, and we cant wait see Maria and her family again!

Myself and my partner (30s) have been to Faliraki for the last 4 years and we are in love with the area. We have stayed at Achousa Hotel for the last 2 years and it has always provided everything we need. The hotel is lovely and tucked away off the main road so it's very peaceful on a night, the pool is a great size and plenty of sunbeds for relaxing on during the day. There's a bar area outside next to the pool for drinks, burgers etc during the day and Achousa also have a separate bar within the hotel leading to a terraced area for evenings. The area itself is about a 20mins walk from the town centre. Faliraki isn't just a club scene as we were both concerned about this on our first year here but it's easily avoidable if you want a quieter holiday.
Achousa hotel has a mini supermarket on site for the essentials and offer air con to rooms for a fee which we always take them up on.
Faliraki for us is always a really good time away and we class it as "cheap and cheerful" break as everything is so well priced including local restaurants.
In the town there's a tourist shop for booking excursions at and plenty of other activities locally. We would definitely stay again, the staff are helpful and kind and the resident cats are so cute!

We agree with other 5 star reviews. Steve and family are genuinely sincere people. Their care and service comes naturally. The Achousa people live and breathe the hotel and hospitality. In a way we don’t want to publicise how good they are as we would love to keep the place to ourselves. We didn’t cook there, the kitchen facilities are basic. The rooms are dated but we slept soundly every night. The hotel is sparklingly clean. The shower was a really good pressure. The pool area is lovely, the bar and restaurant serve delicious food and drinks. The cicadas are so loud you would think they were piped in. The remoteness from the centre suited us. A €10 taxi ride or 20 minute walk will get you to the beach and centre. They are located at a slight hill so the air was slightly cooled by the mountains. The trees and natural grass area are so pretty. It was a very relaxing and refreshing holiday, it took me back to basic family holidays in the 1970s. We cannot wait to go back to Achousa.
Tip: Go to the hotel BBQ night on Friday, the food is delicious. Also their moussaka is world class.
