Myself and a friend stayed at the au palace in October and overall had a really great stay. The rooms were absolutely fine (quite spacious) the pools were good and you could always find a lounger. The food was also pretty good.. lots of choice. The pro’s: • Really lovely entertainment team (not enough of them and the entertainment is far from the best I’ve ever seen BUT the team try their absolute best to get everyone involved - my understanding is there were half the amount of the normal animation team) • The cost for 10 days was really reasonable, sadly the prices for next year have already shot up. • The water park was really good, especially if you have children! • The location was also great, very close to shops and bars and on the main bus route to Rhodes town! Now the cons: • The entertainment itself wasn’t great - again not the teams fault but a few nights we didn’t even bother to come down. • The drinks are good but all served in plastic cups.. not a massive issue but would be nice to have a glass. Overall I would probably come back, we met the most amazing people on our stay and the pro’s definitely our way the cons.. if they improved the entertainment it wouldn’t be a question!

How this hotel is a 4 star I'll never know reading other reviews saying that the food is lovely we must of gone to a different hotel to use then because the stuff we ate was absolutely vile!! We went for 11 nights only ate in this hotel for 3 of them as we ate out the rest we couldn't bare it any longer, rooms are dated and in desperate need of updating bathroom towels had holes in them and felt like cardboard entertainment was shocking luckily we was a party of 22 and made are own entertainment at the bar called jd just outside the hotel only good thing about this place was the water park

I wasn’t going to write a review this year. I have been to this hotel 12 times so my opinion is obviously biased. However, I can’t let the last review of the 2021 season be a negative one as that is the first one people will read when thinking of booking for next year. Sun palace is amazing. The staff work so hard and there are always plenty of laughs so many thanks once again to Aurel, Arthur, Selina and Kia (Picanto). (I think I was the only to get that joke as I own a Picanto!) Thanks also to all the amazing bar staff who work really long hours and always welcome us with a smile on their face. It was nice to see the self service back in the restaurant, last year we had to be served and it felt a bit ‘school dinnerish!’ I also appreciate the addition of microwaves in the restaurant that have obviously been added in response to complaints that the food is sometimes cold although I have never experienced this. Not sure what else to say but I will be happy to answer any questions. Thanks again Sun Palace for giving me a week of laughter in an uncertain climate. See you next year x

Stayed here with family and friends for a week and have never experienced anything like it! The photos look great, reviews were OK when I looked and I thought it was a 4* so didn't think we could really go wrong....well we were so wrong. We arrived to rooms of which I requested 'no bunk beds' as we were a group of 7 and only one of those being a child of 11, so did not think adults climbing up on to bunk beds was ideal. When I spoke to reception they were all mumbling to each other, then requested more money for different rooms. The hotel its self doesn't look too bad but the rooms are dirty and extremely dated. The sheets are stained, towels are old, rough and frayed. The double bed had a huge dip in the middle and the 2 of us ended up in this dip! When we looked the base of the bed had been broken. Reception told us they would fix it....they thought they had by putting another 2 mattress toppers on top. The toppers were foam and in pieces. Pillows were as lumpy as hell . Our beds were not changed the whole week of our stay and we know this as our sheet had a whole in it and my son's were stained. Food is absolutely appalling, it's hardly warm, dry, undercooked or has plenty of flies around it. Choice is limited and always seems to be the same thing day in and day out. I sat at a table started buttering a piece of bread and thought 'what is that smell' so I moved but it seemed to follow me. It topped out the smell was my butter!! Well, hubby and one of my sons have been ill and on the loo the whole week. The people 2 doors along had a Dr out and they have food poisoning. Spoke to another family who have also been poorly. A few of us have been coughing with sore throats and someone mentioned dirty pipes from the drinks machines. We have had to eat out every day as I refuse to make any of the rest of the family ill. The only thing that makes this place a 4* would of been the waterpark but the joins on slides are not butted together properly resulting in it hurting your back. When shown in the photos on the hotel it shows rubber rings in the lazy river, well guess what they aren't provided, we had to buy our own! Popped into a bar and he asked where we are staying, told him Sun Palace and he replied 'can't believe your out alive' says it all really!!!! Think again about this hotel, we are no snobs but do not want anyone to experience this crap!

We booked our holiday 2 years ago, but due to Covid we had to wait until now to go. During this time we had to change from the hotel we originally booked to the Sun Palace, and we are so glad we did. What an amazing holiday we had. The Sun Palace is a brilliant hotel. Check in was fast and easy and the staff were friendly and informative. This proved to be the case throughout the whole holiday, whether it be in the restaurant, at the bar, in the waterpark, the many cleaners, or the entertainment team, they would all always smile and chat to you. The hotel was really clean throughout, and was always being cleaned all day everyday..We found the food to be really good. We were an adult who will eat anything, a fussy adult, and a 14 year old, and we all always got a decent plateful. Yes, there some things that are repeated over the week, but hey, if you like it there is nothing wrong with having things again. We found the variety of choices to be really good, and there was always a good selection of pizza and pasta for people who want that, and always lots of great puddings to choose from. Gloves were given out to you when you entered the restaurant and the mask wearing rule was enforced so we always felt safe in and around the food stations. As well as the main restaurant, there was also a snack bar in the waterpark which was way better than you expect for a pool snack bar. Although obviously it had a far smaller range of meals than the main restaurant, if you were using the waterpark, you could still have a really good plateful of food right throughout the day without having to leave the waterpark. During the day we were either in the waterpark or out and about exploring the beautiful island that is Rhodes, so we didn't really experience the entertainment team during the day, but in the evening they were great, with both the mini disco, then the bingo and various quizzes each night, and there were also some nights with local entertainment coming in. Now the waterpark, what an absolutely fantastic part of the hotel. To have this free of charge in the hotel was just amazing. The slides they have there match anything you would get at a waterpark that you would pay a lot of money to go to - Kamikaze, bowl, sidewinder to name a few, and also a lazy river and a wave pool. The park felt safe as there were lifeguards at every slide, and walking around. They were safety conscious, and rightly so, but they were also friendly, and definitely helped make our time spent in there a very enjoyable one. You can have get a clean towel each day when you go in there, and there are plenty of sunbeds there to relax on between doing the slides. Finally the location of the hotel is just perfect - it is close enough to Faliraki town to be able to go there if you want, but being on the edge of the town it is also quiet enough if you prefer that. The beach is a simple and flat 5 minute walk away, with a lovely clear warm sea to swim in, and the most amazing sunrises, which are so worth getting up for. All in all, this was one of the best holidays we have had, and in the space of a week, I went from "I don't want to go on this holiday" when I was going through the stress of all the locator forms, to "This is great" to "Can we book again for next year". We will definitely be back again. Thank you Sun Palace
