Sun Palace Hotel boasts a prime location cherished by guests for its beach proximity and easy access to Rhodes town via bus. The service receives mixed feedback; staff are commended for their friendliness, though some guests encounter slow service and inconsistent room upkeep. The value proposition is contentious, with travelers criticizing the lackluster food, dated facilities, and extra costs.
While rooms are satisfactory for some, cleanliness and maintenance issues are a concern. The water park is a highlight, despite mixed sentiments about pool cleanliness and sunbed availability. The lively atmosphere is a hit, but noise can be bothersome due to poor soundproofing.

When we first considered this trip, we were met with a flood of negative comments that raised our skepticism. Nevertheless, our experience differs significantly from what has been previously reported. The hotel exceeded our expectations, especially considering how child-friendly it was. We traveled with our two boys, 10 and 11 years old, and they enjoyed every moment. They enthusiastically participated in all competitions and events led by the animation team, who really deserve praise for their skill. Despite the competition from the water park, it was clear that most of the children preferred the animation team's events, which speaks for the quality of their work.
The staff, both the animation team and the hotel staff, were welcoming and friendly. We felt really looked after. The people of Rhodes were also very friendly and there was a welcome lack of pushy sales and hustle as we explored the pedestrian streets. The hotel stood out with its abundant selection of food, and it was impossible to go hungry. The food varied during the week and it also appealed to the children.
The water park was a delight for both young and old, with enough sunbeds for everyone. According to our children, the ice cream here was the best. The location in the middle of the pedestrian streets, close to the beach and the airport, made it convenient for us to choose a taxi, which turned out to be cheaper and time-saving compared to the bus.
Although the stay was generally positive, it is necessary to point out some minor imperfections. Room cleaning was performed only once (the day after arrival), despite our request. Nevertheless, extra towels and toilet paper were immediately provided. The beds lacked a mattress topper, which made them uncomfortably hard.
Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel due to the good experience and the convenient location near the beach and pedestrian streets.

I will start this review by saying that we only paid £1100 for a week all inclusive for two adults and a 3 year old. So We found for this price we couldn’t really moan.
Hotel grounds- the hotel is a standard 3 star all inclusive. There’s a big baby pool and deep pool in the main hotel area. Both clean. Then the water park which is good and then deeper pool with a shallow area at the back. again both clean. Ware and tear on the ground and tiles. It’s not immaculate but fine. The water park has a snack bar serving breakfast then spaghetti bolognaise, hotdogs ect. It has a wave pool slides lazy river and splash area.
The rooms are basic but fine. They again are not immaculately polished and show obvious signs of age and not upkept but it’s not a 5 star resort. There is no mini soaps ect and the dispenser in the bath was empty the whole week. Water is also cold in the mornings. On arrival we was given a room in tge main hotel we arrived at 11pm and the music was very loud in the room (only a problem as we have a 3 year old who sleeps earlier than 11pm) within 10 minutes the electric went out, staff got it back on but it went again another 3 times within half an hour. They was not willing to move us but after we said we was not staying in there they reluctantly moved us over to the water park area. This was much better for us.
Food- again very standard 3 star all inclusive. But they have the basics and could always find something to eat. (Although we ate dinner out every night) There was no chicken nuggets but there’s pizza hot dogs ect for kids. It took us until day 3 to find the buger house which is located at the entrance of the hotel on the Main Street which is nice you get table service and can get chicken and chips burgers onion rings ect. (Staff very rude here)
Location- this is perfect, 5 minute walk to faliraki strip full of lovely restaurants and bars and Shops. If you’re here with young children there’s a soft play, trampoline, crazy golf, bowling place where we only paid €7.50 and can use the soft play and trampoline all day even if you leave which was perfect. It’s about a 6 min walk. There is a soft play opposite but that wasn’t open when we were there. If you cross the road over to sofias travel you can walk down to a beach (2 minutes ) that has a lovely beach bar with bean bag chairs nice food and drinks. Water sports. We found this much nicer that walking 15 minutes to faliraki beach. Old town was €28 in a taxi.
Overall a fine hotel for the money ( I wouldn’t have been happy if I paid more) perfect for kids but not a luxury hotel. Make sure u pay before you arrive for a late checkout.

Do not stay here. Food is awful, no matter the restaurant you choose on site. Cleaning standards are not the best, your room being cleaned doesn't actually get cleaned. Just new bedding and towels, cleaning team do not clean the bathroom or even vacuum/mop the floor.
Play park on site is not safe! Complained about this, the Tui rep, Georgios, was helpful and had the hotel manager and maintenance team walk around the park with me and agreed that with a little pressure the whole park swing as so old. The maintenance team fixed two pieces of wood to the frame which didn't solve anything. The plastic part of the structure had metal poles which were broken, spikey and rusted but they taped that up as soon as I mentioned it to be fair to them. Hand rails down the stairs are loose and with a little pressure cone away from the way.
Again, food is covered in Greece, not much traditional Greek cuisine at all. We spent an addition €300 on food at local restaurants and by day two were sick of fried food for every meal.
Positives, would be the splash parks (although a lot of it looks taped together) but it is a really fun part of the hotel. Plus the location as you can be on the beach within 5-10 min walk from the hotel plus there's a strip of shops along the road to Faliraki Square which is about 20 mins away.
The welcome to the hotel was warm although they don't tell you anything about the kids club or the activities and where to find them.
I don't expect much from a three star and in many way in terms of splash park this place exceed but you can't really relax in the splash park if you know you have to get out, get ready for lunch and then go back in. The food and the cleanliness, along with the safety issues really let this place down.
I would avoid and spend your money somewhere much nicer and this place isn't even cheap!

1st thing a few little changes and this hotel could be so much better.. Just finishing up a trip here for 10 days as a family of 8. 5 adults and 3 child ege 15, 13 and 12... only thing I can say is standard overall, main swimming pool was not cleaned in the 10 days we were there you couldn't seen past the 2nd step they did put chlorine in and use a net but it needed more than that.. the hotel is too small for the amount of guest to the point guests were sitting on sun loungers and standing on the path to watch the entertainment in the evening. Entertainment stage is way to small and low to actually see and enjoy what is being shown. Food just seemed to be the same everynight with only a few things changing evernight just make sure its cooked properly (meat) also vegetarian food its always meat free so make sure to vheck this. Onsite water park was ok for a few days just felt very Repetitive. Would definitely recommend the local waterpark that was a very good day out and the water sports at the beach even tho they cost of course it was definitely worth doing. Staff were very nice within the resort definitely not complaining there. Cleaning of the room was standard even thought they didn't seem to touch things on the floor they just cleaned around them which didn't really bother me as it showed they didn't want to touch my stuff. I can't say this was the worst holiday ever just could of been alot better.. I definitely recommend Sofia's across the road for all your needs from Souvenirs to day trips absolutely amazing family

We got to hotel late at night and it was like a cattle market! I got to my room and the aircon was terrrible so was told I could have an extra room key to ensure it had a constant flow to keep it cool. There was 20 of us all familys and some couples and I went to visit so many of their rooms and they difference in the rooms was crazy! Some has their own private pools and lovely decor with good aircon but some were just old and dated. Yet we all paid the same cost. The food and drink is not great! I mean you will probably find something to eat but not at a good standard. You may say oh well thats only 1 review but there were 20 of us demanding money back from Tui. I have had to spend over 2k as cant stay in hotel. You need to be up at like 6am for a bed around pool. I had kids running up and down my corridor at all times and you can hear every single noise from your room. Rooms were cleaned well and fresh towels. However on check out day which is 11am they are kncoking basically rushing us out the room. If you have a later night flight you must book a shower in which has very limted spaces. The hotel is located well and close to bars etc. The JD bar is good just outside the hotel for food and drinks. You can get towels from hotel but have to go to waterpark to get them. Water park is canny but think that is what you are paying for. Animation team are good. Lots of activities to do during day.I think this hotel need to be downgraded to a lesser star hotel! All inclusive is just not worth it at all and if I could go back I would 100% cut my loses and change hotels.

Just finished up an 11 night stay here with my boyfriend (21&22). As the holiday neared I had noticed the increase in negative reviews and really worried me for the holiday. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. Location wise, it’s about a 10/15 min walk to bar street and the restaurants in Faliraki and a 20/30 min bus to Rhodes town which came right outside the hotel every 20 mins. Our room was simple and basic with a nice sized balcony. The double bed was 2 singles pushed together so did fall victim to the gap a couple times and they weren’t the comfiest but nothing back breaking. I did see the reviews about not so great rooms so I emailed requesting for a room in the main block which they kindly sorted so I suppose you don’t ask you don’t get. The hotel itself is a much larger complex than we had thought. The first week of our stay was during high peak so the main pool was very busy meaning a 6:30am wake up for sunbeds or you were out of luck by 8am but that does happen in most hotels now anyway. The water park always had plenty of spare beds if you didn’t fancy the early rise. The food is basic and simple but generally tasty, we would’ve got a bit fed up of the food if we relied on it 3 times a day for 12 days but we spent days out and went for meals so when we did use it it was more than fine. Food could often be lukewarm/cold so just had to get lucky with a fresh batch. Bar staff were always happy and friendly. Nice lager on tap and can safely say they are the strongest drinks I’ve had at an all inclusive. The major downside we felt was overcrowding for the size of their facilities. On an evening for entertainment, during peak, if you didn’t get to the seats by 7pm (dinner starts from 6:30pm) you’d be struggling, one night people had to make use of the pool sun loungers. Also the main restaurant, not including basic salad and kids options, only had 16 pots and most nights it was very similar food and no themed food evenings. Finally the animation team, all amazing. Day time activities very similar everyday but people don’t get bored of them. They’re involved in the evening entertainment too and really get people to take part. As they were all a similar age to us we got chatting and went on a few nights out which they do organise with all hotel guests too and they always looked after us. Special thanks to Owen and Momo who always had a laugh and kept my boyfriend entertained so I could sunbathe in peace 🫶🏻 We payed £1000pp for our package holiday here through Tui and for what it offers and its location I’d 100% say it was great value for money and would probably return!

Me, my husband and our boys (ages 7 and 9) were here for a week with all inclusive in August and were so disappointed! The hotel is old and tired. The air conditioning is noisy and rusty, the rooms are old, the beds are rock hard, the tiles come loose, etc.. The first morning the glass door of our room was blown when our son grabbed the handle!! It could have ended disastrously with major injuries, but luckily we escaped with the youngest man getting a few small cuts under his feet and the whole luggage was full of broken glass. We sat in the lobby for several hours waiting to get a new room, so lost half a day. It was a traumatic experience for the whole family, and the children were completely in shock! The cleanliness was lousy in our room! The cleaners were also difficult to talk to as they only knew Spanish. One day they just came in with new towels and took the trash, didn't wash anything. Another day they walked past our room. They only changed the double bed 1 time, and didn't change the other beds.. It was also dirty by the pool outside the hotel, and there are disposable plastic cups floating everywhere! The food in the dining room was ugly, and the acoustics there are absolutely horrible, so it is unpleasant to be in the dining room because of all the noise and bad smell. We had to spend money at a restaurant because the food was so bad, and we tried to taste a lot of different things! Wifi was terrible so we had to use 5G. The evening entertainment was incredibly loud, and bad. In short; this is a worn out bad hotel, bad rooms, a lot of noise, bad food and lousy cleaning!! The few positives were the location, the water park was good and the beach was lovely. We will never go here again!

Positives: Nice room; modern, spacious, clean, with an excellent bathroom, shower, and comfy beds. Pool is big, with different sections for kids, swimming, and activities. Only 10 minutes to an excellent beach, and 2 great beach bars (not part of the hotel). The adjacent water park is excellent, loads of rides to suit all ages, a busy but ok snack bar, and plenty if sun beds. In the main the staff are friendly but are all busy. There is a handy little shop on site and some good shops directly opposite the hotel. It's in a good location for the beach, only 15 minutes walk into the centre of the town, the bus stops every 20 minutes for Rhodes right outside. Also lots of car hire places, which we did and got to explore the island at our pace. Negatives: The food is poor, hot food is generally cool, the main restaurant is chaotic at peak times, the food quality is a bit bland. There is a snack bar late at night which is convenient but looks grubby. The best place for lunch is the burger bar. And I would not recommend the al a carte places, Mexican bight is held on the burger place but the food for this meal is awful. The other main issue is the noise from the entertainment team, especially in the evening when it is deafening. Some people clearly like this as it's difficult to find a seat. There really needs to be a separate quieter bar area for those of us who don't need 90's techno club anthems belting out every evening. We came as a couple looking for a relaxing week in the sun, which we had, but away from the hotel by going to the beach and hiring a car.

Our review after visiting 3 times. We have always had a great time here and did this time too. Sadly it ended badly with 5 out of 7 of us so unwell with sickness and diarrhoea. The worst I have ever felt in my life and days later I still struggled. These issues were reported to reception and Tui who didn’t seem bothered. Entertainment is not amazing but better than other hotels we have been too and we enjoyed it. Food we didn’t like at all plenty of it just not to our liking. The Mexican restaurant we didn’t like at all just randoms foods bought and plonked on the table with no explanation as to what it was, same with the Greek and anything we did eat was bland and tasteless. Burger restaurant was ok, however burgers come out pink inside unless you state well done when ordering so that’s worth noting… also chips always tasted wierd. Glasses and plates often come out very dirty (we drank mostly from plastic cups because of this) We knew from visiting previously we weren’t a fan of the food so we prepared for this and bought extra spending money to eat out quite afew times. Cleanliness was ok, cleaners are always running around cleaning but it never seemed to be enough for the size of the hotel and how busy it was I think they need more of them to maintain toilets etc. Waterpark is great we spent most days here, however again not the cleanest and the sun beds are very uncomfortable with some broken. We seen other people being sick everywhere, including on the bus, plane and airport and spoke to many people who had just had the sickness. Even seen people in the chemist at the same time as us buying stuff to try and help. It’s been rife there this summer. We have loved every holiday we have had here but sadly won’t be returning as since our first visit it’s just gone further downhill. No money seems to be put in to the hotel to maintain it it’s just getting worse and worse.
