Excellent stay in this charming hotel. When we arrived, the gentleman came to pick us up from the taxi with a little trolly for the luggage. The staff was very welcoming and was able to answer any questions we had for sightseeing, helped by the excellent location of the hotel. The room was very nice. We requested Nutella for the breakfast which they did not have but got some for the following morning. 10/10 would recommend.

Overall we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay at this property. the building is very charming and full of character. The room and bathroom were large and clean. The building is very old but nicely converted into a hotel. it has some quirks but nothing major. The hosts are very nice and helpful.

In general the feeling is more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel.
I really liked the location because it is close to the lively areas but yet very quiet. It is very close to the clock tower as reference.

It is not possible to get a taxi to drop you by the property door, so unless you want to walk about 10 minutes to get to the hotel with your suitcases, I highly recommend you let Duncan arrange the transportation for you.

In terms of COVID 19 issues, they follow all health and safety protocols and I never felt at risk while staying here.

This beautifully restored boutique hotel located in the quiet backstreets of Rhodes old town leaves an immediate impression. The quaint garden alone is worth it. Perfect for breakfast outdoors in the morning or peaceful relaxation in the afternoon (you can cool off in the dipping pool!) its Mediterranean tranquility feels far away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Yet in reality it’s walking distance to a wide choice of great bars, restaurants and all the old town to offer. We stayed in the standard suite and were very pleased, but for some it should be noted that some stairs are involved. Modern conveniences are carefully blended with old world, Ottoman charm. Both Duncan and Lena are helpful, responsive hosts. We booked with them directly and they helped with arranging transportation.

Thanks Duncan, our stay was lovely. The team are genuine helpful people and it’s obvious they insist in such a high standard of hospitality.
From booking the hotel we recieved an email to arrange a taxi from the ferry port ,the taxi took us as far as it could possibly go ,we were met by Duncan to help with our luggage and guide us to the hotel.
The room was Beautiful along with the public areas , the gardens are stunning.
Breakfast was fabulous , fresh orange juice with so much choice of hot ,cold fresh good quality produce to choose from
Again checking out was flawless with Duncan who again helped with our luggage to the taxi arranged
Highly recommend

We stayed in the Pasha Suite. My husband and I had the bedroom and our daughter had the day bed (perfectly comfortable) in the living room which led to the bathroom and separate steam room (which we didn't use). All beautifully decorated and comfortable. It's a little off the main area but quieter for being so and Duncan (whose mother-in-law owns the property, he great sense of humour, slightly beleaguered :) ) was very helpful with everything. As with all places in Rhodes, August 2020, it's quieter than usual and places run on a skeleton staff (Duncan +1), and not open 24/7. But this was absolutely fine. We had a wonderful 2-night stay here. It was a lovely base.

If all hotels could be like this...(take note Miami Beach). My personal ingredients for a successful stay: 1. A great bed 2. Authentic, personal communication between staff and myself and 3. Location. This had all 3 in abundance. Any pre reservations about working from a hotel in such an eccentric setting were resolved very early. My room was beautiful, low key, charming and quiet but with everything I needed for a 6 day stay. The owners not only made my stay very comfortable but were warm, genuine and open in their manner. This, perhaps above all else made such a refreshing change to the robots I often encounter in chain hotels. Enough has been said in reviews about the location but in off season (if you enjoy peaceful settings) it really is magnificent. Plush towels and bathrobes are provided as is breakfast and the library/ lounge area is relaxing, fascinating and very interesting. Forget finicky, wasteful coffee machines or design gimmicks. This is obviously a wonderfully loved hotel managed by folk with a true knowledge of what works. Excellent. Any criticisms? Maybe a stronger WiFi (if that's feasible). Highly recommended. All credit to the owners and staff.

For our first trip to Rhodes I can't imagine a better experience. The hotel is within the walled city of Rhodes but nicely tucked away from the throngs of people you encounter by the palace and in the restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is tastefully decorated, and the courtyard seating is nicely shaded with trees and flowering shrubbery, making it cool (very welcome in July heat) and comfortable seating. The man and woman who run the hotel ... Duncan, an ex-pat Brit with a charming and self-depricating sense of humour, and Elena, who made the most wonderful breakfasts and was a source of many excellent recommendations ... were personable, amazingly helpful, and felt like family by the time we were leaving. We would recommend it to anyone and will surely stay there on our next visit to Rhodes.

Absolute gem of a hotel. We slept in the Ottoman suite, superb atmospheric room decorated in keeping with the name. Linen and towels perfect. The hotel is hidden within the Old Town, a maze of tiny streets leads you to this small oasis of tranquility. The small hydro pool set in the garden surrounded by comfy seating and beds is a great spot to while away time in the late afternoon being a great suntrap. Elena and Duncan are fantastic family hosts, serving a superb choice of foods at breakfast time. They are always on hand throughout the day till late evening to help with any queries or recommendations. Would not hesitate at returning or recommending this brilliant gem. Thank you for a fantastic week.

We started our trip to Rhodes with three nights at this beautiful hotel, and it was a great beginning. The buildings are hundreds of years old (set right in the labyrinthine centre of the Old Town) and have been lovingly and tastefully restored, with wonderful shady gardens where you can start your day with a very good breakfast. Duncan was great, and very good natured about heaving much of our luggage from the taxi into the hotel (cars can't access the narrow street.). Our room was huge (a massive comfortable bed) with a mezzanine where we were able to relax after a day out sightseeing. We also made good use of the outdoor jacuzzi, which was a real treat. Duncan was a humorous and helpful host, Lena was very kind, and Rhodes Old Town is an absolute gem. We'd love to return, and will definitely stay here again when we do. Many thanks, and apologies for the late review (I thought I'd done it months ago!). Have a good off-season, hope you all get a break.

We spent our night in Old Town and enjoyed it. We also live in Turkey and had been to Kos in the last but weren’t impressed. This island was definitely a lot more enjoyable with lots more to do. Old town has a palace and old cobblestone streets to explore. There is a huge shopping area with lots of goodies and a wonderful area with lots of restaurants and music. The hotel referred us to Romeo’s for dinner which was great with live music. But more importantly it was in a beautiful area that was so romantic to walk around after dark. There are areas with beaches as well but we didn’t do those this tile around. (Not sure how far from old town) New town is a 10 minutes walk from old town. I would say yes- it’s worth checking out Rhodes and we’ll definitely be back. I highly recommend this hotel for sure. Wonderful people. Enjoy!!!

Our room had a King bed in it. Not sure if it could be split. But maybe, I would ask the staff directly. Our room also had a sofa that was twin bed sized, so could be slept on if people were not wanting to share a bed. We were in the Pasha suite.

Is there anywhere near to swim, please, and sun-bathe?
Answer from andrew s
Maryville, Tennessee12 contributions15 helpful votes
You can always sunbathe in the private courtyard of the Hotel or go to one of the many beaches that are outside of the castle walls. It is easy to grab a cab and be to a beach in a couple of minutes. Great swimming and wind surfing beaches are very close, but not for walking to. There are break walls and piers just outside the walls. We took a cab to the beaches. They were efficient and reasonable.
