Stayed for 2 nights and was upgraded which was a nice touch. The suite was large and well appointed but I didn't sleep well. There was no headboard on the bed and I found this really uncomfortable. We were the only ones staying the first night, with another room occupied on the second night. I felt at times, like an inconvenience. My suitcase was too heavy, I split coffee on the tablecloth, didn't decide quick enough what I wanted for breakfast. Maybe just a different sense of humour but it made me on edge. Other people seem to have had a different experience so horses for courses I guess

- overused, or misunderstood? Save for a few details, below, we had no complaints about this small hotel in Rhodes Old Town, well placed for exploring, and for the restaurants a few minutes away on Menekleous: we went no further for dinner on our three nights there. We had been booked into the Ottoman Suite, but were offered the option of the Pasha, which we preferred: large rooms, furnished in a style to suite the building. No mini-fridge, but cold drinks were readily available. We were concerned that the tiled bath/shower had neither a safety mat inside, nor a bathmat on the floor. The courtyard garden is delightful, with a small plungepool. We ate our excellent breakfasts outside - coffee close to a home comfort - and relaxed there after our sight-seeing. Lena, Duncan and the staff were unfailingly helpful. A couple of other points I'd make are that planes do pass almost directly overhead; and you can't take a taxi to the door, so other arrangements are made to move baggage in on arrival and for departure. Overall a very good start to our Rhodes-&-Symi holiday.…

We stayed for 8 nights in the Pasha Suite which was a great choice. It was the last week in October and the weather was perfect- even upo to 30 degrees one day and no need for anything with sleeves the whole time. This was the last week of the season and almost everything was still open. I have bullet pointed our comments (but they have vanished), and particularly where we found previous reviews to have commented on a negative, have included our experiences. Positives Extremely accommodating hosts (Elena and Duncan) with just the right amount of contact. When you needed them, they went above and beyond. Two highlights were: receiving a bottle of rose on arrival as it was my 60th birthday celebration, but by far the most amazing was that as we were not due to fly until 10.30pm, Elena let us delay check out until late evening, and continue to use the room until then! This meant we had a truly delightful last day, unencumbered by luggage, and were able to shower and change before we left. Plenty of privacy Beautiful touches like the painted ceiling in the lounge area, gorgeous stone work and some lovely carved wood outside. Great for access to all the amenities and attractions as long as you’re able to walk- bring flat sandals with strong soles as you’ll feel the cobbles though anything thin (not flat cobbles, real lumpy ones!) Fresh still and sparkling bottled water placed in room every day was very welcome Very comfortable super king sized bed No noise from above the Pasha Suite Gorgeous peaceful and shady courtyard with the constant sound of cascading water and some beautiful flowering trees and plants (sound of water also meant if other guests were in the courtyard, you could not hear their conversations) Breakfast outside very relaxing Loungers outside in shade and sun to read on, and lots of books (mostly in English) from novels to more highbrow material and guide books in the library (no need to bring holiday reading) Wonderful steam room with a handheld shower and toiletries within too. The marble is so cool -even just to lie on it is refreshing Small bright reading lamp was provided (in the wardrobe) Lots of hangers and wardrobe space Giant full length mirror Air con x 2 - one in bedroom and one in lounge Lots of beautiful stray cats all around the town, but none in the hotel Rhodes Old Town is a great place to buy leather handbags and jewellery Lovely boat trips to Lindos and Symi A marvellous and extremely picturesque, historical old town with dozens of lovely restaurants , shops and bars Minuses (we had to dig deep) No fridge in the Pasha suite A shower cap would have been useful A bit tricky to make a hot drink as you needed a tray or a bigger space / you can ask for milk but can’t store it in the room TV did not have any channels- but there was Netflix if you had your own password (we didn’t). Prime was available without own login. Lighting very dim in rooms giving slightly gloomy atmosphere …

Well Elena is magic in all ways and Duncan has the weirdest sense of humour. Both are brilliant. So helpful and superbly grounded they make this wonderful hotel even better. My partner's birthday was celebrated with a delicious complimentary bottle of rose and two bottles of local beer. Stunning hotel, very reminiscent of a top Marrakesh riad and similarly difficult to locate but well worth the effort and what a garden! The atmosphere is magnificent, the hotel is immaculately clean. The position is perfect very peaceful. Could not recommend it more. We have travelled extensively and it joins our list of best ever places to stay, possibly right at the top.

My sister, best friend and I had the most amazing holiday in Rodos Old Town made all the best for staying at Spirit of the Knights. We got a fantastic welcome from Elena, Duncan and Dex. The rooms are amazing, attention to detail 100%. One of the most beautiful places I have ever had the fortune to stay. I hope to revisit with my husband very soon. Beautiful place, beautiful people.

Beautiful settings. A small quiet gem in the middle of the old town Rhodos. The owner of the hotel is a fantastic lady and she provided the best service for us during our stay. We will be back next year for sure! Best breakfast and good advice for things to see in Rhodos was provided! We highly recommend this hotel!

For our first trip to Rhodes I can't imagine a better experience. The hotel is within the walled city of Rhodes but nicely tucked away from the throngs of people you encounter by the palace and in the restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is tastefully decorated, and the courtyard seating is nicely shaded with trees and flowering shrubbery, making it cool (very welcome in July heat) and comfortable seating. The man and woman who run the hotel ... Duncan, an ex-pat Brit with a charming and self-depricating sense of humour, and Elena, who made the most wonderful breakfasts and was a source of many excellent recommendations ... were personable, amazingly helpful, and felt like family by the time we were leaving. We would recommend it to anyone and will surely stay there on our next visit to Rhodes.…

A wonderful boutique hotel, lovingly restored in an ancient building just within the old city walls. Part of the listed heritage of the town..Room delightful, and a blissful garden The family owners are extraordinarily kind and helpful.

Set in a quiet corner of the town yet close enough to all of the amenities this little hotel is a delight. The building is ancient yet it has been sympathetically restored recently resulting in a perfect place to explore the area. Elena and Duncan couldn't do enough for us and the breakfast was unbelievable.
