We drove to San Ambrosio on recommendation of the lady in Tourist Office in Barbate and followed the signs to El Palomar. We were not expecting it to be in/part of a hotel and in fact a man in the courtyard said the hotel was closed. But that he'd let us see the dovecote. Was certainly not expecting such a...

It's not central, but a really unusual place to stay. Our room was delightful - comfy bed, liked the paintings on the walls, slightly quirky; the buildings aren't done up but look better for it. There is a wonderful dovecote which you have to see. Staff were great, especially the waitress in the restaurant who is a star. An easy...

This little ancient converted farm is an absolute treasure. Set in the middle of the Natural Park, it is ideal for walking cycling and horses. It a short distance from Cape Trafalgar and its beaches. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, and the hosts are charming and friendly. Really good value. The quality of the restaurant is also surprising. Quiet...

We enjoyed a wonderful stay in this comfortable, quiet, warm and clean rustic property. The staff were very attentive and hospitable. The restaurant's Spanish cuisine and their service at dinner were quite enjoyable and authentic. Eric at reception gave us, and many other visitors, directions to local attractions, the best trails, the loveliest roads and the tastiest (really) place for...

First I have to stay we didn't actually stay at the hotel, but were visiting to check out the dovecote attached to the hotel, which is a fascinating piece of history. The hotel is run by a French ex-pat who we spent time chatting with at the hotel bar, very nice guy and a good source of information about the...

At first we've only booked 2 nights in this hotel, but we liked so much that we extended our stay. The hotel it's easy to find if you follow the directions mentioned on booking.com: as it is in a rural area, it's not advisable to use GPS. So, briefly, take the road A-2233 and you'll find signs for the hotel...

Dear Sir Thanks a lot for those acknowlledgments. The breakfast that is included in the price of the room, is the typical "continental breakfast". Anyway we will try to improve it with some extras. Best regards. The Palomar de la Breña team.

The three guys who dreamed twenty-five years ago this singular rural hotel, Eric, Chema and José Luis have a special sensitivity to preserve the ethnographic heritage of this natural park area. They have become a 18th century plot and house, dedicated to the breeding of carrier doves and show the palomar (Dovecote). You are already in one of the three...

I did not stay at this hotel. It is in a pine forest above the sea .... very rural. I went with friends who wanted to show us a "surprise". We walked through the lobby and out into an amazing structure... an ancient pigeon coop! Sounds crazy but it as really a beautiful sight to see!

We have stayed in Palomar de la Brena many times over the past 6 years, and continue to do so. Staff/owners very friendly and helpfull on all occasions. The one chef restaurant serves the finest food I have eaten, it's not cheap, but the best quality rarely is. Set in very quite countryside, close to the beach at Canos de...
