We stayed here for 3 nights in early September and I’m so glad we did. We have never motored home before so didn’t know what to expect but this campsite was fantastic. Absolutely spotlessly clean throughout , lovely shower blocks etc , good faculties. Very peaceful and relaxing, fantastic little bar/restaurant area serving lovely food. Train station 10 mins walk away so easy to get train into Barcelona, if you want. Very friendly and kind staff - highly recommend- thank you camping globo for a lovely introduction into camping.

We stayed here in our Campervan. Beautiful shaded area. Pitches are huge. Every member of staff we had dealings with were super friendly. The girl in reception always had a smile and a wave and was very helpful. The food in the restaurant was really lovely and quite reasonable. Its a short walk to the beach and 10 mins up to the town for the lovely restaurants and atmosphere. we took the train into Barcelona and a trip to Cavella , a town up the road. They have very good entertainment for the young people , with pool nights till 11. which were very popular. Great site we will definitely come back to this site. highly recommend it.

We had a great stay here! Place is beautiful with a lot of desperately needed shade, has a private beach within 2 minutes walking distance, has friendly staff, good train and bus connection (bus station right on front of the entrance, train station is 15 minutes by foot). You can easily rent bikes at the reception. Showers and bathrooms are clean. Only negative point: they planted trees that have pointy needles, so no barefoot walking on the camping places. Would recommend 10/10!

Ever wondered what battery chickens feel like? Go to Globo Rojo in August to find out. While I must stress that we were very lucky with our pitch (larger than average on a corner, 99% of all other tents, caravans and RV's were literally back to back. There wasn't even room to take any shortcuts through the site if you were so inclined. I saw several caravans that were unable to extend their average size awning due to the limitation of pitch size.

The noise at night was unbearable. I got about 3 hours sleep and my other half got about the same. The unruly kids seem to have turned feral. The campsite is surrounded by busy roads and a train line. If the road noise isn't loud enough you have the trains random horn to keep you occupied while you're counting the circles under your eyes.

However, I still gave it 2 stars. 1 for the staff and 1 for the food. We ate at the campsite restaurant and it was lovely. The price for a 3 course meal would have been hard to beat anywhere. It sort of made up for the extortionate fee they charge for a scrap of a pitch.
The facilities were always immaculately clean. The cleaner seemed to have been doing a permanent circuit during the day, always keeping on top of things.

I have just returned from a five-day stay in a motorhome at Camp Globo Rojo and I couldn't have wished for a better campsite! The pitches are quite close to each other but they are very well shaded and kept immaculately tidy. The shower rooms and wash-up rooms are spotless and seem to be cleaned throughout the day and the shower pressure is fantastic too (a really strong jet and easy to control temperature). There was fresh bread cooked on the premises with all the basics at reasonable prices in the on-site supermarket. The pool is immaculately clean with lifeguard on duty and there is all sorts of sporting equipment available. There seemed to be a lot of Spanish guests on site and the beach was not too touristy.....so I feel that I got a bit of the true flavour of Spain. There was entertainment some nights and the restaurant/bar was very reasonably priced and very good quality. The beach is just across a road and railway line, the beach is a very fine grit, patrolled by lifeguards but very uncommercialized with just a few beach bars. All in all a wonderful place to stay and I would most definately recommend it.

This gem has so much. It’s not too big and still feels like an ‘old school’ family camping. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. There are always new people to meet at the bar or at one of the pools. The place is not the cheapest and you can see why. There is wifi, electricity and all the basics, super clean toilets (yes, includes paper) and a good restaurant, shop, bar, beach club, children’s pool, etc. Too much to mention.

But what makes this place special are the people that work here. The camping is being run by one Catalan family with style and traditions. They are hardworking (luckily the season is only so long) people who will take care of ALL worries. Don’ be afraid to ask. The staff will see you through... or help you with small things like a translation or touristic information.

All in all this is an amazing place. Unique, and I have stayed in some 32 (?) European countries. Oh, did I mention that there are less insects than in other countries? Anyway. A tip. Visit this camping early or late in the season. If possible, make a reservation in advance as this place is popular - and rightly so.

Globo Rojo means Red Balloon. As Nina sung in the 80s (?) - 99 Red Balloons Go By - well don't let this Red Balloon go by.

I was so impressed with this campsite that I gave a review earlier in the year AND we stayed again.

This campsite is very popular with the Dutch - which is always a good sign - and it is easy to see why. Lovely facilities and fantastic staff. In fact, none of the staff here would be out of place in a top five star hotel. Plus the chef in the restaurant is one of the few who really knows how to grill a steak properly.

A special mention goes to Andrea, Sonia, Pleun, Eva, and the wonderful groundsman - Cipri. Of course, all the other staff were unbelievable. Especially the Life Guard at the pool, who kept the pool area safe, clean, and entertained the kids as well. And of course the management Mary, Mark and Joseph could not do enough for you.

I truly cannot wait to return next year. This campsite has a loyal return trade, with some families having come here year after year for over 30 years. There is even a lovely French couple who stayed the whole summer, and who have been coming here for over 40 years. I think that speaks volumes.

This campside is located along the road Canet de Mar and Callelja. It is a quite small camping with just 150 places and around 20 small bungalows.

Both the employees and other guests are very friendly and helpfull. The tiolets are cleaned several times a day. A small restaurant provides local tapas and pizza and is reasonable prized.

Most guest are from The Netherlands and France. The camping offers several activities, aranging from aquajogging, small child games to camping disco.

The swimmingpool is rally clean and thee is a life guard. The beach is just a 100m walk. A dia supermarket is located next to the campside.

The camping it self is very nice, housekeepung girls are doing they best. Is very modern, swimming pool is nit that busy and very clean as well. Girls working at this csmoing are very polite and to be honest they saving this camping from male domination because male part of the staff is well rude. The BOSS how they call him, wanted to speak with us and send one of his bodygourds or whatever position this young guys is saying that WE have to go to his office, because HE wants to speak with us. When we went there he said that he was not expecting us to be so young, well dear BOSS put on your web that you do not wish young people to stay on the camping. Bassicly everything is ok except male part of the staff. I never seen them smiling and happy when girls are so nice and polite to guest.

Response from GLOBOROJO, Director General at Camping Globo Barcelona

Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your views with other Trip advisor members. We are pleased that you found our campsite very nice , modern and clean. What we find sad is that you criticise our male staff, committed people who work hard to make sure our customers enjoy their time with us. About the issue with the “Boss”.As you know,we asked you to come to reception office, not because you were a group of young people but because the night before you had a “party” untill late. We had some other guest complaints, so we had to make sure that this would not happen again . As a family run site, it is important to us that all our guests have a pleasant holiday. Regards, Marc.

I stayed at this campsite last year and it is by far the best campsite I have ever stayed at. The staff are really friendly and will go out of their way to help you, the showers and toilets seem to be cleaned constantly and the facilities are excellent. There is a bar where the drinks are not expensive and a restaurant too, although we did not eat there.
The only downside was the pitches are on the small side. We stayed in a small pitch and there is just enough room for a midsize tent and a car. There are big pitches too and I would definitely advise getting a large one if you are anymore than 2 people. Overall this did not affect the enjoyment of the holiday and we have already booked to return this year, can't wait!

There's an excellent fish restaurant on the beach about 5 minutes walk away and beach bars all along the beach at regular intervals. For other shops and restaurants you need to walk into the town which is 10-15 minutes walk. The town itself is very Catalonian and not particularly aimed at tourists which personally I found quite refreshing in comparison to other towns along this coast. The area immediately outside the campsite is of no interest but there is a useful supermarket just around the corner.
