It's great to be back! Thank you for your ongoing support over the last year. A few things to consider before you visit: Booking is not essential, though we would recommend you book in advance. Outdoor service is limited to guests in groups of six or two households (no limit on number) is permitted. Please note we may need to vary our opening hours and food service times given the time of year and the unpredictable nature of our Great British weather! Track and trace requirements have changed meaning all guests over 16 years of age must check in and provide their contact details. Unfortunately we must refuse service if guests do not comply. To get the most up-to-date notices on our re-opening, keep an eye on our Facebook page. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Green Dragon Welton By Marston's Inn appears to offer a mixed experience, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that many guests enjoy, especially praising the pub's ambiance and the delectable food served. The hotel's picturesque village location is a highlight, providing charming vistas and convenient transport connections. While the value for money received mixed reviews, some travelers find the accommodations clean with comfortable bedding.
However, there is a consensus that the rooms could benefit from updates and attention to reported maintenance issues. The service, generally appreciated for its friendliness, occasionally falls short in efficiency and accommodation.

Just left said establishment, very nice, I must say! Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean with most of the amenities you would need (I say rooms, we only stayed in 1, any more would have been greedy/ extravagant). The food in the pub is lovely, especially with the 50% off government covid shizzle. On that note, the staff observer the covid stuff very well and have put in place cleaning, distancing and Ikea stylee navigation procedures throughout. Main staff member worked a 17hr shift yesterday and stared another 17hr shift today and still had a smile at breakfast! Their coffee is also amazing. If I had anything negative to say it would be that the toilet paper in the rooms is awful, you could craft a moth a prosthetic wing with it and it still be too thin!

Stayed here for a stop over as we are travelling to the area for the weekend. Stayed here in 2016 and had a great stay so thought we'd come again. The pub is fab, great beer and prices are reasonable. It was very busy but we got a table and were not disappointed. We had two courses of excellent food at a very good price - being a guest meant we also got 20% off which I wasn't expecting! Our waitress was really lovely (Amy, I think - we were room 9 if that helps).
Room was immaculate and the bed very comfortable. Slept well and very good shower. Breakfast was to a very good standard and only about £6 per person.
We will definitely be back.

Attended a wedding locally and booked 3 rooms at The Green Dragon, very accommodating allowing us to collect keys at mid day as we would be late returning at night.
Rooms were fab, nice sized, comfy bed and great shower, classic full English in the morning and pancakes with maple syrup and bacon for the girls.
Staff were very friendly and hopefully will stay again.

Stayed overnight as a stop to break the trip back from Scotland on Friday the 7th. So let me set the scene 5 fellas on bikes in near 30 degree heat, booked online and tried to confirm by phone the previous evening but no one answered the phone. Paid up front.
Arrived hot and exhausted to be told we had double rooms. The immediate excuse was, “it’s their fault/we don’t check the bookings” (a contradiction). Both the male and female “managers” were dismissive and although the two rooms were made up as twins. Four of us sat for 30 minutes without an apology or the offer of a drink. Another couple came in while we were waiting and dripping with sweat... dealt with immediately and with polite courtesy. None of us felt welcomed (maybe they don’t like professional male motorcyclists)
Our rooms ready (well done that girl) I was given a battered bag of tea, coffees and one pack of biscuits 🤦🏼♂️. See below!!
Finally in a room and luck would have it the shower ran dry!! Had to go to another room to wash off. Complained!!
No cold water but hot water that would take the skin off.
Things improved from here Food was good and the staff friendly and attentive. We couldn’t get a table outside as the locals appeared to have monopolised them.
However after asking the front of house fella this was sorted once one became free.
All in all the place was clean and tidy with a good selection of food and beer. The female manager softened as the evening wore on. The breakfast was hearty and cups and glasses were refreshed as needed.
As luck would have it we didn’t see the tetchy male manager again. Good customer service comes with a smile, no blame, keeping the customer happy and paying attention to the little things. Initial impressions are paramount and that’s why I’ve only given an average score. I’d also question your Covid compliance which seemed to be negligible.

A5735JTgaryc, I'm sorry to hear that you felt like you had an average experience with us. For the phone's not being answered, we are currently working with limited staff (due to covid-19 practises) and so answering the phone just is not possible sometimes. The mistake about the rooms, was on booking.com's behalf, they were experiencing issues, and we have had many problems with them over the past few weeks, however you should have been offered a drink whilst you were waiting, so I will pass this back. Again, the bag containing tea and coffee is to make sure that every guest receives fresh (covid-19 practises), what is in the bag is the same as what would normally be in the hotel room, however if you wanted anymore and asked we would have gladly got it for you. The shower will be passed back to our manager and maintenance man to get sorted, I am very sorry about that. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the rest of your experience with us after your initial 'welcome' and I am sorry that it was not up to our usual standards. We have very strict covid-19 practises in place to keep our guests and staff safe, but we always welcome feedback on how you think we can improve them. What is it that you felt negligible? Kind Regards Amy

We travelled as a couple for a three night stay. The setting is stunning overlooking the village green. The pub itself is lovely, really nicely designed and we could take our pooch with us. There are treats throughout the pub and water bowls if needed. We had a lovely meal on the Friday and Saturday night, very attentive staff and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. We also took took our breakfast in the pub, you can choose between continental and fully cooked, we both had the breakfast omelette with cheese, mushroom and bacon. With juice, coffee tea and toast. The luv was busy on Friday and Sunday night, we didn’t eat on the Sunday as we had been out but the Sunday roasts coming out looked and smelled delicious
The rooms are located right outside the pub, there’s an entry keypad to enter so no one can access unless you’re staying. We had a ground floor room, really nicely furnished with one of the biggest beds I’ve ever slept it. The bathroom was a great size with fully sized bath and shower over.
Tea and coffee are provided and we don’t normally take advantage but on this occasion we did with malted milk biscuits my favourite, the only negativity, however, this did not spoil our stay, is the room we were allocated had stairs above our room and the room floor upstairs creaked. You can hear the people talking above but not to the side of you. We are a early risers so they probably heard us. The coaching house is very old so to be expected.
We had a wonderful 3 nights and totally relaxed sat outside people and expensive car watching over drinks. Special thanks to the lovely lady on the hotel reception and the bar staff. The chef’s and the Spanish housekeeper. We will definitely return.

Chose this over the nearby Premier Inn - both almost exactly the same price. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. My room was nice with a decently sized, comfortable bed. Breakfast was hit and miss - decently priced but quality and quantity definitely varied depending on how late into the breakfast shift I went. Go early for best food! The bathroom was relatively clean, although did have a small amount of mould and rust around the bath (which was a good size). However, I wouldn't stay again. The rooms were not insulated at all. The footsteps from the room above were extremely loud, I could actually make out the words of their conversation. At one point during the night one of the occupants coughed so loudly it jolted me awake. The sounds from their bathroom were directly over the bed, plus you could hear the water running down the pipes once they were...um...done. Unpleasant when you're trying to sleep! I was also woken up very early by the upstairs occupants getting up and ended up having to resort to noise cancelling headphones. In the breakfast room I also heard other guests complaining of the same issue. Next time I'll go to the Premier Inn at least their rooms are sound proofed to a reasonable degree.

The room was fine apart from the bathroom needed some TLC. It was a dog friendly room so I never expect the Ritz but the toilet seat was chipped, rust running down the tiles and several parts that needed attention. It was not the room that spoiled our stay but the pub itself. After asking where to sit and being told the areas we could sit with the dog we got a drink and settled ready to order our food only to be told we could not sit there and had to move, which we did. We then ordered fish & chips ( not cheap at £15.95 each) so expected them to be nice. Waited a little longer than expected but was so disappointed with the quality. Frozen chips and the fish was mainly batter, you had to scrape the bit of fish out. It was the worse fish and chips we’ve ever had. Asked the waitress to pass the message on to chef or manager, which she did and a man came out and said it had a full piece of fish in but I think he meant a gold fish!!
When I went to pay I explained again to the other man behind the bar who said ther was no charge. Now I know this was very nice but I would rather have paid knowing we had eaten a nice meal. It’s our second stay there but we won’t be rushing back again.

The staff at the Green dragon are all polite and very helpful. The rooms are very good warm and clean and the room we stayed in was quite. As for the breakfast brilliant. The evening meal was very good and they had live music when we stayed , the atmosphere in the pub in the evening was warming and as a small village pub should be packed with people enjoying themselves

Beautiful village setting, close to Beverley and Humber Bridge. Spotless room (No 6) modern decor and good size. Full social isolation measures in place. Nice pub adjoining quite nice food again all preventative measures in place. EXCELLENT staff can not praise highly enough, Somewhat unsure of resuming excursions due to virus but felt completely at ease and safe with the measures in place. Will definitely visit again soon.
