Lovely staff, lovely rooms and the management are keeping everyone safe a great place to stay well done to everyone. I will certainly be back in the near future and highly recommend it to friends and family
4 of us visited for my daughter's birthday, the food is overpriced for what it is, my son had scampi, the chips are frozen chips, not hand cut as stated on the menu, nothing special for £13!, you could have the exact same meal for half that price at other local pubs, the meat in the pie was fatty and hard to chew, chicken burger was nice but again nearly £15 just not worth it. There are so many lovely local places to eat, we won't be back in a hurry.
To say we where disappointed is an understatement, when we book, at least two weeks in advance, we asked for two tables of five, to be socially distant but next to each other, on arrival we were asked to sanitise, leave name and contact, wear masks etc, which we all did, we where shown to our table and right next to it there were people occupying the next table, when I confronted the “waiter” he just shrugged and said, oh somebody put them in the wrong place the other table will have to sit there, there wasn’t an apology, nothing. Was absolutely fuming. Next a couple came in, no masks nothing just laughing to be shown to their table, we where asked to put the mask on when leaving the table, there was a suited man just walking about everywhere with no mask, again absolutely fuming. It was very cold, when one of our party asked the waiter if there was air conditioning on or something, just shrugged and said I don’t know, couldn’t have cared less, and his service and abruptness was noted by all our party. One of our party is allergic to cheese, and there were only two dishes for adults without cheese, they had to pick from the children’s menu. And the price has gone up to an unsatisfactory level. So here is a summary, the waiter down right rude, not bothered, no apology, expensive, letting people in and walk around with no masks. It was cold, and the food wasn’t that great, so we all of us will NOT be returning for a long time to come, if ever, so be warned, if you want a nice time out with family, stay AWAY.…
What a little gem positioned 1/4 off a main road (you would never believe it so tranquil). This hotel have been exceptional from the moment that I booked with them. I explained we were on a motorbike and they very kindly agreed to store this for us. When we arrived they had not forgotten. Our room was very spacious and located above the stables, exceptionally clean and very Covid friendly. The meal in the evening was first class and great valve as was breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel, the staff were all fantastic!!
We booked a table for lunch and enjoyed our visit. Food was good and the service was excellent. Everything in place for covid and we felt very safe. Situated in a lovely village and would certainly call in again when we next visited the area.
