We stayed here in order to attend a family occasion in Sheffield; it was very easy to get there by car.

Sally's place is a converted building on a working farm. It has a cosy cottage feel, with everything that you need to be warm and comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped. The bed is extremely comfortable. There are views from the back window, out over the moor. Best of all, care has been taken to adapt the accommodation for disabled travellers like me. You can park right outside; the cottage is all on one level; the doorways are wide; the ensuite bathroom is a wet room, with free-standing, stable, shower chair, and grab rails to shower and loo. Sally is a friendly host, who advised us on local beauty spots. She even provided delicious home-made cake!

We liked Daisy Cottage so much that we will be back to explore the area.

On arrival we was meet by sally who was such a nice lady.
The cottage was very clean and had everything that was needed, we had a bbq the first night which was supplied by sally and greasy eggs and honey was bought (very fresh and tasty!)
Think buy the fourth day we had consumed 24 eggs!
Can’t rate this little farm and cottages any high
Very very pleasant

We stayed at Daisy Cottage for a week and we found it to be a lovely and peaceful setting. The accommodation had everything we needed, and Sally (one of the owners) was very welcoming upon our arrival (she even left us a lovely lemon drizzle cake, which we thoroughly enjoyed!) We also bought some eggs and honey which were delicious too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and we will be recommending to our friends and family. Thank you.

We initially booked through an intermediary who messed both us and Lazy Daisys around. After an incredibly helpful phone call with Sally we booked direct and it was plain sailing from there on.
Michaelmas cottage is fabulous and has everything you will need. The upstairs living area is wonderful with a pleasant view and easily enough space for a family. The bedrooms are a good size and have been well thought out, down to things like plenty of sockets for charging all the electronics. The bathroom has both a bath and a good shower. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a decent meal and everything you need to eat.
The hospitality from Sally and her family is wonderful and the area itself is nice and peaceful, but close enough to towns if you really want the hustle and bustle.
So good we’ve already booked a return visit.

Just had an amazing family get together at Lazy Daisy’s holiday cottages. It was the perfect destination, situated in beautiful countryside. Owners couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Lovely holiday cottages which are well maintained and spotless.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at Lazy Daisys in the one bedroom cottage. It was very warm and cosy, beautifully decorated and kitted out. Our 2 dogs loved the long walks and nearby facilities were spot on.
Will try and drag the family up to Yorkshire, next year, so they can experience an English holiday at its best
Thank you Sally for the amazing honey

The best part of our short stay wasn't the excellent standard of accommodation, not even the surrounding countryside and the many attractions which exceeded our expectations, but the attitude and approach of our hosts. The children (twins just under three years old) were really excited by the access they had to the farm animals when, despite the pressures of running a farm, our hosts dropped everything to give them a guided and informative tour. Without any hesitation we would return and recommend the cottage to others.

We are currently staying in the daisy cottage and arrived yesterday and depart on Monday 19th nov, upon arrival we were greeted by the daughter "Lauren" who made us feel so welcome, this is a working farm so if you have children they can see sheep, cows, hens, tractors which are all favourites for our 21 month old Jakob, there were fresh made cookies upon arrival which went down lovely with a nice cup of tea.The main town of penistone is only 3 miles away with all local shops and pharmacy etc and the spar, coop, and Tesco are close together.i would definitely stay here again the one bed cottage is adequate for all needs with a large courtyard to the rear all secure.comfy bed and the sofa bed is quite cosy aswell,we've not found any faults so would rate this 5 star. Thanks to all the family for making us feel so welcome,we will be coming back down from Glasgow soon.

Our first visit to this place was in 2010 so were looking forward to our 2nd visit staying for a few days over the New Year in the Moonpenny cottage. Again it was a lovely treat to find a huge xmas tree, wonderful lemon cake & bottle of fizz on our arrival. Although we enjoyed our time there with our friends the cottage hadn't changed a bit since we'd been last there & thought it could do with a few updates. Old fashioned furniture in living area, mattresses too soft, blunt knives in kitchen & there was no mop & bucket. (Not entirely great when you've been out walking in snow & mud). Having said that, if you enjoy the outdoors, wonderful views, mooing cows & the sound of tractor's working & bleeping when reversing day & night (I know... you are staying on a working farm) then this is the place for you !! All in all it was enjoyable & if we come back again hope to see some improvements.

Response from Sally H, Owner at Lazy Daisy's Luxury Holiday Cottages

Thank you for taking the time to review Moonpenny cottage. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay over the new year. We will definitely look at the knives and put a mop and bucket back in the cottage. Whilst it my not be possible or appropriate to put more modern furniture in the lounge its made me think about maybe adding some new accessories to keep things looking fresh. Its often the case that a bit of constructive criticism makes you look at something through new eyes so thanks again for your helpful review.

We stayed here for a weekend when we came for the finish of "Coast Hunting". A young chap cycled and ran the entire coast of the UK in aid of Huntingtons Disease. 35 Days, 22 x 100 Mile bike rides & 13 x Marathons. A fantastic undertaking and well worthy of our visit which was made all the more enjoyable by staying at "Lazy Daisy's". We had a lovely Al Fresco breakfast looking at the fantastic views. We also ventured in to local Oxspring and had a fantastic curry in Penistone. Nearby is the Langsett reservoir were we had a great walk with our dog. Plenty to see and do in the local area so would certainly recommend staying at "Lazy Daisy's".
