Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Dunsilly hotel is a lovely hotel, situated very conveniently for travellers from further afield and those living closer. It has all the amenities you would expect, WiFi, tea/coffee making, iron/ ironing board etc. The room could perhaps do with a little updating but was still very comfortable, the bed and bedding all of good standard. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating, from the room service staff to the restaurant staff. The food in the restaurant was really lovely, beautifully presented, hot and delicious. The waiting staff were exceptional which made it a delight even to sit and watch them working. Everything just seemed to flow seamlessly. My husband and I would have no hesitation staying there again. Well done Dunsilly Hotel.

Stayed here while on a work conference, at the hotel. The bedrooms are basic. However, the hotel is nice, lobby, bar, conference area. The hotel is well equipped to hold a conference and you get treated very well by staff, tea, coffee, lunch etc. you won't be hungry. The bedroom although basic is very comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The Dunsilly Hotel is our absolute No.1 choice for a night away. The rooms are very comfortable & spacious, the food in the restaurant is fabulous, the staff are so attentive, friendly & nothing is too much trouble, Catherine, Avril & everyone on reception are exceptional, as is Chris, the bar/restaurant manager & his staff, Rosie of course in the dining room at breakfast goes out of her way to make sure we have a great start to our day, so overall, I couldn't recommend The Dunsilly Hotel highly enough, thank you to everyone. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Really friendly place. Good food. Very tidy and clean rooms. The bathroom was a little dated, but it’s a great place to stay. Full of character and warmth. I’d definitely stay again and would recommend to everyone.

Very good stay for bday treat, dinner was absolutely delicious like breakfast. Staff at reception very welcoming, we loved live music at night. In the room bathroom frame was a bit dirty, like before quest were spilled some wine or vomit. But apart of that was all perfect.

Absolutely livid, got there at 8.30 after a hard days work and just hit the pillow as I had to be up at 5am to catch the ferry back to Cairnryan, first of all I couldn’t get any hot water to wash as the mixer tap was so powerful it filled the sink with cold water before any hot came out so a cold wash for me, then I went to make a cup of tea but the kettle didn’t work, wanted to complain on my way out but couldn’t find anyone, very disappointing. I was in room 6 so if you ever end up there please check all appliances on arrival.

Firstly the good points that saved it from a 1 star review ...the food is class Now for the rest The rooms are dated and the spring mattress beds are a step back in time. The Real joke was the "Air con", they put the con in air conditioning alright. A nob on the wall twists but it's not connected to anything, there is no air on. A sweltering day and night meant there was no solace in your room Guess the cold beer is one more plus point I can muster The dunadry is the place to stay

The only thing that saved this from being a one star review was the food. Dinner in the grill was lovely and the breakfast was hot and fresh (although i was in as soon as breakfast opened at 7, so it had just been laid out.). Reception and bar areas are nice, but it looks as though zero money has been spent in the rooms since 1990. Noisy sprung beds, cheap pine furniture, dated bathrooms with no mixer taps. Horrible shower curtain and yellowing rubber bath mat. Very poorly appointed facilities. Only an ironing board and a sad little tea tray with cheap instant coffee sachets. Most hotels now, if they dont offer a coffee machine, will at least have the coffee bags so you can enjoy a decent coffee. The next morning i have the do not disturb hanger on my door. Housekeeping knocked once, didnt give me a chance to respond and walked straight in on me changing. On checking out, the receptionist didnt ask how my stay was, just took the card and said, thats clear, goodbye. Customer service and standards are sadly lacking at this hotel. Recommend a visit to the restaurant but dont bother staying over.

Dunsilly is a beautiful hotel, with an inviting large lobby, friendly receptionist. Our room was clean and spacious, not a pretty room, but that's not a complaint. There are lots of outdoor parking spaces. Very handy location to get back onto the highway, to carry on to Dublin. We highly recommend this hotel.
