Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Cannot recommend this guest house highly enough. Had a lovely ground floor twin room. Spotless and loved the lamp with the USB ports. Lovely breakfast the next morning. Would definately stay again. Great hosts.

Fully recommend this place. Picked us up off the Great Glen way. Checked us in. Nice rooms very clean and comfortable. Made sure our cases were in our rooms on arrival. Good breakfast and a lift back in the morning to the Great Glen way to start the next day.

Simon and Marie offer a high standard of accommodation in a great location. Warm comfortable rooms and a tasty breakfast. Lots to explore in the area and on a main route but very quiet. Plenty of parking. Good dinner options nearby.

The guest house is under new ownership. The new owners Simon and Marie have spent a lot of time and effort re vamping the accommodation. They were very helpful and friendly during the whole of our 4 night stay, we were able to dry our wet hiking gear in the drying room which was a very useful facility. They were very approachable when asking for information on the local area. Breakfast was great with a good selection available to fuel us up the mountains! We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to recommended it. (Jenny and Kevin from Devon)

What a warm welcome from Simon and Marie! The rooms were spotless and very comfy beds. Great selection on the tea tray, lovely toiletries provided and nothing was too much trouble. We requested an early breakfast so we could get on the road, again this wasn’t a problem. The breakfast was delicious with quality fresh ingredients. This B&B is perfect for all local attractions including climbing Ben Nevis.

I think the negative reviews below must have been for the previous owners, because when I stayed in April 2022 everything was perfect. The owners were pleasant, helpful and friendly; the room was quiet and spacious; the breakfast was more than I should really have eaten :-) The location is extremely convenient, right by both the A82 and A86, and there's a generous carpark for guests. Spean Bridge station is a short walk, so travel by train to Glasgow, Fort William or Mallaig is super-easy. If you have an hour to spare and fancy a short walk then follow the A82 up the hill for a mile or so to the Commando Memorial. The view of the Grey Corries, Aonach Mor and Ben Nevis is hard to beat.

We had booked this back in May as part of our Great Glen Way walking holiday. Having walked for 15 miles we were then more than a little disappointed to arrive at the hotel to find that they said they had no note of our booking and couldn’t accommodate us. Very confusing as we had got email confirmation from Booking.com. We did get a refund from Booking.com but it made it very stressful. If staying in Spean Bridge I would stay somewhere else.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this guest house. Dianne was very friendly and accommodating. She has a lovely dog, who was very happy to come and say hello. The room was a good size, and had everything we needed. The guest house is only a 15 minute drive from the Ben Nevis visitor centre and start of the tourist walk.

After a long day hiking in the highlands and planning to stay here for the next four nights, we have received a message from OYO that our stay was cancelled for maintenance reasons. It was a last minute cancellation so we needed to find a much more expensive alternative for the next few nights. OYO refused to find us an alternative and told us to contact Hotels.com (Expedia) for a refund. Now, Expedia is refusing to give us a refund because OYO is claiming that we were a NO-show which is crazy given that we have an e-mail cancellation form their side. It's not just that we were out of pocket having to to find an alternative place to stay, but also the fact that now I'm struggling to get a refund for the accommodation that wasn't provided. My time is simply not worth it. Avoid this place at all cost and most importantly avoid OYO hotels and Expedia/Hotels.com all together. The support I have received is simply unbelievably bad.

I booked this guest house weeks in advance through booking.com and received several confirmation messages of my booking. I was planning to stay here after a long hike in the highlands. So much to my surprise, after spending 10hrs hiking and turning up to the hotel, the owner/operator was away in Glasgow and the guest house was shut. Luckily, the owner of the restaurant next door saw our confusion and explained the situation, he even got the owner on the phone. Apparently, there are issues between the bigger owner (OYO) and the actual operator, and this is not the first time this has happened. I would warn anyone against booking this guest house--that is, if you actually want a place to stay for the night.
