#10 of 24 B&Bs / Inns in Spean Bridge
The Heathers - Traditional Highland hospitality from Ian and Sheila MacKinnon amongst breathtaking scenery overlooking Loch Lochy. The Heathers provides that welcome touch of luxury and attention to detail rightly expected of a Scottish Tourist Board 4 star graded B&B. With 4 bedrooms sleeping 7 in total, the house is tastefully decorated, the public rooms are suitably complemented by generously sized en-suite bedrooms. Complementing the B&B, we have Fraoch Cottage, well appointed 4 star self catering accommodation for 3 people.

This is a B&B which provides 5 star accommodation, food and service. Ian and Sheila Mackinnon have thought of everything. Very comfortable en suite rooms with excellent showers/hot water (how many times do you turn up at B&Bs where hot water is a problem!) and a tea/coffee facilities with home made shortbread. Rooms are spotlessly clean and warm. And a breakfast you would not miss-they buy only the best local produce. Lovely situation with a nice large garden. The Mackinnons have extensive experience of the hospitality market and this is fully reflected in an exceptional B&B which is an ideal stopover for those travelling to Skye or the Western Isles. In fact you would be foolish not to experience a visit!

Just spent the last 3 nights at this beautiful guest house overlooking Loch Lochy. The hosts Ian & Sheila are really friendly and welcoming and have a wide knowledge of information both local and beyond. The breakfasts are superb and there is a varied menu, which include Sheilas home made bread, scones, flapjack, jams and marmalade ... which she has actually won awards for. Our room 2 was larger than average with everything you could need including a large TV and a hospitality tray which was replenished daily to include Sheilas home made biscuits ... beautiful! In the bathroom there's a large corner bath with a shower overhead and also a separate shower. The hosts attention to detail is second to none with lovely little touches throughout. The house also boasts gorgeous views overlooking the Loch and also towards the mountains. A truly wonderful place to stay if you.'re looking for first class accomadation in idyllic surroundings. 😊 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍

Super comfortable stay by Loch Lochy, on the road between Fort Augustus and Fort William. Mull room was spacious, comfortable, and peaceful. Breakfast was excellent, and Ian was so generous with his time in giving us travel advice. There’s little in the way of restaurants in the immediate area but if you’re travelling from Fort Augustus, as we were, I recommend the Boathouse there for dinner. Highly recommended B&B.

This was such a lovely, clean, convenient and high value place to stay in the Highlands! It's not far from the town of Spean Bridge or Fort William and convenient to many hikes and scenic drives in the area. Sheila makes the most amazing breakfasts, cooked to order, and Ian goes out of his way to make guests feel welcome. They're great resources of information. These experienced hosts know how to make you feel comfortable and welcome.

We spent two nights at The Heathers. We very much enjoyed the comfortable accommodation and delicious breakfasts. Ian and Sheila were charming hosts and made us feel very much at home. We had great breakfast table conversations with our hosts and the other guests. Bathrooms were spotless. Beds were comfortable enough. We had two rooms. WiFi was perfect in one room and barely noticeable in the other. But we only needed WiFi for a little planning each morning. Beautiful views from the bedroom of Loch Lochy. Hope to visit again some day!
