Stayed at Coire Glas whilst walking the Great Glen Way. The hosts were incredibly helpful and friendly, allowing us to take refuge from some torrential rain earlier than expected and dropping us off at Gairlochy the next morning. The room was warm and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.

Took a 2 night visit to the area for a break. Found the Coire Glas Guest House on trip advisor and was not disappointed that we booked. We were made to feel very welcome and everything was explained to us on arrival how they were dealing with covid 19. The whole place was spotless and everything was very well organised in regards to maintaining social distancing. Breakfast was great and we have no complaints. If we are ever back up in that area, we will absolutely stay there again. I am a really fussy 'guest' and I highly recommend this Guest House to anyone.

Overall, we felt the need to please the hosts rather than the other way around which is a shame. Pros: - Covid safe - Delicious breakfast - Room was lovely (nice shower, nice view) - Hosts made good recommendations for where to eat and places to go in the area Cons: - The whole feel is very regimented as opposed to relaxing (there is quite a strict, army feel rather than easy-going one) - I personally found the male host passive aggressive but if you please him, he’s friendly - You choose a breakfast slot and what you want 24hours in advance. You better eat it all and be exactly on time (not a minute early or a minute late) otherwise you’ll be greeted with cold toast and/or a negative atmosphere - They are not cleaning rooms at the moment due to Covid (which is understandable, although not our experience in the other places we have stayed on our trip) and if you ask for anything (fresh towel, more milk etc) it is initially met with questions. I don’t know if some of these ‘cons’ are Covid-linked but I personally wouldn’t stay here again. However, I feel I should reiterate that the actual room and food were very nice.

Dear JodieM You appear to have an opposite opinion to the majority of our guests who understand that during COVID-19 times, we must have procedures in place to keep our guests safe. We as the owners and hosts have a duty of care to all our guests and you have indeed stated in one of your "Pros" that we are COVID safe - therefore we have done what we need to. Not everyone adheres to social distancing and we therefore must ensure that this happens during breakfast service. We have been told by many guests that they have enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, albeit in a timed pre-booked slot for breakfast. Many other B&B's are doing "grab and go" or no breakfast at all so we have been trying to keep things as normal and relaxed as possible. Many guests have specifically told us they approve of this. We are following Government guidelines with full cleans, sanitising etc before and after stays. However, we are not doing services during stays unless requested (or over 4 nights in which case I service the rooms every couple of days). Therefore your statement regarding not cleaning is incorrect. Questions when asked for towels, milk - the only questions we ask "is there anything else you need for your room" so I have no idea what you mean with this statement. We are trying to make our guests comfortable, without putting anyone at potential risk, including ourselves and our home/business as we do not want any further closures that may be caused by a single guest not understanding the current guidelines. Breakfast slots (and breakfast) does not need to be done 24 hours in advance, the sheet is there for you to choose should you wish, we just ask that the requests are done by 8pm the evening before, less than 12 hours before the start of breakfast service. We are sorry you felt that it was regimented and we behave like a strict Aunt and Uncle, but to be honest, a personal criticism like yours is offensive when all we are trying to do is keep our guests safe (as for the passive/aggressive comment, we have no idea why you think this as Simon is generally fairly jovial). COVID-19 is affecting all of us in our daily lives, if you are not happy with the rules and regulations we have to work to so be it. We welcome guests who are prepared to abide by the safety rules we have been given, so in view of your comments, which I have to say are the extreme rather than the norm, you would not be welcome on any future visit. It is always very brave to make comments after the event, the reasonable action would be to raise any concerns at the time. If I could add the request to pay your invoice sent to you too please for the item taken from your room as I have had to send a reminder. Thank you for your comments, we are sorry you feel the way you do, but sadly we cannot keep everyone happy in these very strange times.
