My wife and I stayed here whilst walking the Great Glen Way for one night. We received a very warm welcome and made to feel at home immediately. Wonderful service and good quality of food at breakfast. We would highly recommend staying with Lucy at Tirindish.

A beautiful, very comfy house with a great view of Ben Nevis and really well equipped rooms (even tea and a kettle, some cookies, fresh milk in the refrigerator) including a cosy common room. The breakfast is a treat! The hosts are enourmosly warm and welcoming! (A car would be recommended, but as we came by train, they helped us with tips on how to get to the village Spean Bridge by foot and even took us with them to the station on our last day.)

We visited Tirindrish House following a personal recommendation from a friend, and were pleased to read the positive reviews.Howeverwe had a disappointing experience. Our first impressions of the guests sitting room and dining room were encouraging. However, our bedroom Fieldfare, was dirty and dusty. I dropped an earring and whilst looking around for it saw rubbish under the bed left by previous guests. Cobwebs and grime behind radiators and around the edges of the carpet. I tried to open the window slightly before going to sleep, but the dust, dirt, mould and cobwebs deterred me from attempting to open it. Clearly this room is need of a thorough clean. The mattress was past it's best and was uncomfortable. The pillows were lumpy and also uncomfortable. Breakfast was good but I'm sure guests would enjoy a cafetiere of coffee rather than the offer of only filter coffee. I am sorry to post such a negative review but the owners really need to address these issues. We weren't asked by the owners if we had enjoyed our stay. If we had been asked, would have politely expressed our views. We live in the Highlands of Scotland and want guests to experience the best of what Scotland can offer in terms of B&B accommodation.…

Response from Lucy Hicks, Owner at Tirindrish House B&B
Responded 10 Apr 2023
Dear Alan and Glenys, We take a huge pride in providing an exceptional stay for all of our guests. As you will see from the many other positive reviews, our guests report a great experience here. Unfortunately, you left without giving the opportunity for us to discuss your stay in person, as we would always do, and you did not let us know of any issues earlier in your stay. We see that there were some sweet wrappers underneath the bed from a previous guest for which we sincerely apologise for and have advised our cleaning team of this. I will be carrying out regular checks on this. The bed and mattress in the room are less than a year old and we are frequently told how incredibly comfortable they are. We’re sorry if it wasn’t to your preference. In the last two nights I have had guests separately leaving a tip and a hand-written note to say how much they had enjoyed their stay in the room that you were staying in. We will address the gap behind the radiator which you have brought to our attention. This is not representative of the room itself. The windows are original wooden sash and are in-line for part of an ongoing upgrade which we are currently working on. This is reflected in the price of the room that you were in, and we have booked in a decorator to refresh these in the meantime. We hope we can welcome you back in the future. Kind regards, Lucy & James

Excellent hosts with fantastic views. The rooms and facilities were excellent with space to relax. I booked the family room for myself and my Dad and was amazed to find it was a full suite with two bedrooms and large bathroom. They also brew their own beer so worth checking them out. Great place to stop if you are passing through or for a couple of relaxing days away. Highly recommended!!

Lucy was an excellent host. My friends and I were hiking the Great Glen Way which finishes in Gairlochy, a few miles from the hotel. Lucy asked us to call her so we could be picked up from the end of the hike. Our ride was on time and led us to a beautiful property. Lucy and James have owned the Inn for a few years and offered a lounge to play games, tennis courts (which we did not use due to the long hike) and a room with twin beds and a nice en-suite bathroom. There is a brewery on the property, but it was closed when we arrived (too bad for us!). Lucy served a delicious breakfast with a lot of hot coffee. She was on her own during our visit and managed three sets of guests with grace and a good sense of humor. We needed a ride to dinner at Old Pines because it was too far away. Lucy coordinated with the innkeepers at the B and B where our friends were staying and found us a delightful driver to and from dinner. It’s clear she loves what she does. Lucy is one of the reasons why I love Scotland so much—people are kind and generous.…

We had a fantastic stay at Tirindish House. Lucy and James are the perfect hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms are clean and of a very good size. Breakfasts are a brilliant start to the day. The location is superb with beautiful views over to Ben Nevis. While you are there and in the area you should try James' Glen Spean Brewery beer. Snow goose and Highbridge IPA are sold locally and there is a shop a hundred yards away from the B&B. Highly recommended

Lucy and James were more than welcoming. They were warm, genuine, and thoughtful. They truly welcomed me. The house and the ground of the house are beautiful with the view of mountains. My room was extremely clean and tastefully and elegantly decorated. The bed and bedding were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The house is a couple miles away from the Great Glen Way; but Lucy gave me a ride back to the trail.

This is a beautiful old house set in its own grounds (with a tennis court for guests!) just a few minutes' walk out of Spean Bridge village. The welcome is exceptionally warm and friendly; the bedroom we stayed in was huge and absolutely perfect; guests also have access to a lovely lounge; and the breakfast is amazing. What's not to love? Whilst there, we'd also recommend eating at the Smiddy House restaurant in Spean Bridge which was also exceptional.

This room for 3 was bigger than we expected. The bathroom was shabby and needed repairing. Beds comfy and very clean. Lots of nice touches in the room: coffee making machine and fresh milk. Breakfast average.
