This was our base for 6 days while in Xpujil. There is not much selection of accommodation in the area so this was adequate. The rooms were smallish, clean but quite basic in decor. There thankfully was air conditioning and TV as well as wifi. The best part was the large and clean swimming pool in the heat of the... More

If you intend to visit Biosphera Calakmul and you're driving from Merida, you'd probably in need of an overnight stay. The closest stop to Calakmul is the small town of Xpujil. There's not much there (just a few small and basic accommodation options, a supermarket and a gas station). From the options available, Hotel Calakmul is by far the best.... More

We stayed here a few different times in the past, as a quick stopover to see the numerous ruins in this area. We are pleased with the refurbishment that is going on. We choose an upper level room this time. On a previous stay, I told my husband that I would never stay here again! That time there was a... More

The twin beds were fine, the t.v didn't not have any channels so was a big waste of space. The hot water did NOT work, and the bathroom smelled like sewage. The pool looked clean and nice, but was out of service due to chemical cleaning. The location was convenient for visiting the many Mayan ruins in the area.

After a 10 hours day of driving this was a great little gem to find. It was dark by this time and time to get off the road and get a good rest. This hotel served the purpose. We had a room set back on the second floor overlooking the pool. There were no noise issues from the highway traffic.... More

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Calakmul. The restaurant is incredibly slow, with decent food. We preferred the short walk to other restaurants in town. The location is ideal for visiting a variety of Mayan ruin sites that you might otherwise overlook. We paid 450 pesos cash, the charge for credit card would have been over 500. It was clean... More

Ok it was Christmas, but the service was really, really slow. My Fahitas de Pavo were pretty good, but the shrimp cocktail was close to disgusting - shrimp in salt water with ketchup... The city of Xpujil has not too many alternatives, but it's located well to visit Calakmul.

This is a very small and plain hotel. It's good if you just want to sleep there, but none of the amenities worked in the room. Rooms are clean, but the A/C didn't work in my case, neither the TV. The hotel is supposed to have WiFi but it didn't worked at all. The food at the restaurant is very... More

We arrived without reservations after another guest we met on the road suggested we give this 40 room family run motel a try. At 350 pesos we found the value to be very fair. Our room was very clean, had 2 double beds, good wifi, a flat screen TV and a bathroom with consistent hot and cold running water. The... More

We spent the night here after visiting the jungle we were hot and tired. The price was good, we had planned to stay at the Eco resort but did not have the cash as the internet price and the drop in price were different. The hotel is not quiet as truckers and other people are coming all night long. Ask... More
