Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My spaghetti with RICCI DI MARE were tasteless and too dry. The grilled fish even worst. The only delicious plate I had was Shwayili style octopus.
The location is nice but if it’s windy they close the courts in and you would eat smelling the cigarettes of the other costumers

Fantastic food at the restaurant!!!!! It’s a cozy hotel, amazing seating options for the restaurant or just to stop by for drinks. Rooms are VERY basic, great if you are just hoping for a spot to sleep as opposed to spending comfortable time in your room. Breakfast was brilliant but be sure to ask prices of different options and coffees to avoid expensive surprises.

My husband and I went for dinner and saw tuna on the menu as a salad. We asked Robert if we can have it grilled with some rice and vegetables. He was so accommodating, even brought me into the kitchen to check that the tuna was cooked to my liking. Really delicious meal, generous portions, and the tuna was perfectly seared. Beautiful setting. Will come back again someday.

During our 3-week stay in Tanzania-Zanzibar this was far the most expensive hotel and based on the price and pics on booking.com we had great expectations. The location is truly magnificent. That’s for the pros. The pool is indeed infinite and nice but way smaller than it appears on the photos. The beach chairs were dingy, the mattresses dirty. There were no beach umbrellas. The stairs to the rooftop tables were simply wrecked with no apparent intention of the hotel to fix it. There was no mosquito net in the room. The nightlamp in the room didn’t work. The lamp in the bathroom didn’t work. The staff, nonchalant and disinterested in general, was unable to change the empty water reservoir in the room. The stinky seaweed infesting the beach during our stay was not removed; it was interesting to see the neighbouring beaches to be cleaned while the hotel’s part remained black and disgusting. Well, none of the above is dramatic of course, only considering the amount of money they charge you makes the whole experience even more desolate, especially in comparison to all the other places we stayed at.

We had dinner at this place for several times. The portions are huge, rather share, but very tasty. Friendly service, the owners are very welcoming and going an extra mile to make all guests happy. Every Monday there is Live Music, which is a great experience.

Every monday there is a party until 4am and the music is very very loud. Good place for partypeople, bad place if you want to sleep and get some rest. We had to wait way too long to get our food and prices are generally not cheap.

I loved my stay at Coral Rock with my daughter and my sisters. The staff were really charming - especially at the restaurant while the hotel in general with the glass rooms by the beach is just breathtaking.
Definitely planning on going again.

On arrival we thought we'd made a bad choice because the road up to the hotel had derelict buidings, graffiti on the walls and lots of nothing. We were greeted by a really nice guy on reception plus a massai guy aswell. Our room was good with good sea views. The pool looked good, the restaurant served good breakfast and very nice burgers. The tide goes out for quite a while so you can go down and look in the rock pools before it comes back in later. Be prepared for a seaweed stench though because there is lots of it on the beach below the hotel. On leaving we were allowed to stay in our room for longer so that was great. We enjoyed our stay here, the guys at the hotel were very friendly.

This is place with spectacular view to the ocean and fantastic evening parties. We were not guests of hotel, just went there as visitors. During party time (without any Covid-19 restrictions), domestic musicians made spectacle. "Misters from another sisters" and "Brothers from another mothers" played domestic and international hits.

Service is too long, it took almost a year to serve me. Breakfast is not included in the price. The wifi connexion is terrible. No phone in the room. It was a bad experience unfortunately. Many improvements should be done because the hotel has an amazing natural beauty.

Hotel is facing directly the sea. There is very tiny shops close by. The cost from port with taxi can vary a bit but normally is between 40$ and 60$ US and takes about 90 mins normally.

As a non smoker one doesn’t watch out for such stuff ;-). But I think there are two tables just outside the little restaurant overlooking the beach and the sea where most of the smokers hang out. I saw ashtrays out there. Nevertheless it’s all fairly small but you are always outside, so smoking won’t be any problem.

hi there. you can snorkel at low tide at the reef in front of the hotel. initially it is best to take an ngalawa and a local captain yo show you where the best spots are and what to look out for. ask for Captain chicken to guide you on times, tides and ngalawa ince you get to the hotel.
