Even though we haven`t stayed in Uhuru Beach hotel, we enjoyed the food and drinks in their beachfront restaurant. We loved the view and super relaxing environment :) The place also provides charming beach furniture, so you are able to take pleasure sunbathing just in front of Indian ocean!

Jambiani is a very peaceful and beautiful area of Zanzibar. The breakfast at Uhuru was very nice. All the food served at the hotel is very nice! The staff are amazing ! The masai working there are adorable and are always available to help you with whatever you need. The owner, Ana is also very present on the property, which...

We received the warmest welcome imaginable, really helpful and happy staff and a beautiful gem of a place. Ana runs this place so professionally, kindly and warmly with her guests, her staff and the local villagers, we were very impressed. Uhuru has the best wide and pure beach front view. The decor is barefoot beauty, simple, eco and chic. The...

We were pleasantly surprised with the rooms - the owner has been renovating and they're much better than how they look on the website. Private bathroom, fan and balcony with views to the beautiful ocean... For 30 odd dollars it's a bargain. The dinner was very good; we had a calamari curry and crusted fish with mango salsa at 15,000tsh....

The rooms here are directly situated on the beach which can be both good and bad. At the time of our stay (September), there were days with strong winds from the south and due to the exposed location of the rooms, there was nowhere to take shelter from them. The rooms themselves are sparsely furnished with few provisions. For example...

There are several bungalows situated directly on the beach. Small balcony attached to each of them and dedicated sunbeds under the umbrella. Excellent food, bar with good drinks and local bear. Sunday brunches with local music. It is not a high class hotel, but rather a quiet and unpretentious place to stay. As there is no swimming pool - no...

I loved the fact that our room was right on the beach, and each room has a small sitting area outside (2 chairs and a small table) as well as 2 beach chairs and an "umbrella". Rooms are basic but fine, breakfast was good, lovely Masai guys walk around constantly (I believe they are security) and are super friendly, nice...

During our 12 day stay we had a lot of fun with the nice and friendly staff, we had amazing food - really great quality and value for money! - we cuddled with the dogs, enjoyed ice-cold drinks and...

After spending over a week doing excursion after excursion, it was great to finally take a breather at Uhuru Lodge. We found this place while walking along Jambiani/Uhuru beach looking for a place to stay. We spoke to Anna, the owner of the lodge who offered us a room. The place was under construction at the time and as it...
