To avoid absolutely! The local manager is really loathsome. If you order food, do it minimun 2 hours before (pretty good). If you drink, let's pay after each drink cause they tried to bill me 21 beers in 2 hours (impossible). I actually drank 6 beers. The manager is drunk most of his time and his brother is the biggest...

The rooms are spacious but not well kept and altogether dirty, it is very hard to find any staff available, there is no hot water and the bar plays loud music until late night. Make sure you ask the price of anything before ordering when you are at the bar or you might end up with unpleasant surprises like asking...

The Dhow Beach Village is a budget place to stay, allowing you to relax. The rooms are sufficient for those spending most of the time outside -- what you hopefully do on your holiday. The bar at the beach is really inviting; finding pleasent persons to talk is quite easy. That was the reason why I stayed there as a...

The lodge is quite poor, food is not good at all and over priced. Taxi fare are just too expensive if you book with "captain fruit" (a guy from the lodge who only want to get your money). We did not try any other facilities. They even proposed to another guest to leave earlier while he already had paid for...

We booked for two nights. We had asked for a twin room, which they said they had but when we arrived there were only doubles. The price per night was outrageous as there was no electricity or running water and no sign of it coming back. We were pressured into booking a trip from the moment we arrived, even while...

As locals of Jambiani, we like to visit Dhow Beach frequently as there is always someone to hang out with and have a chat about Zanzibar and life in general, or football in specific. The management is changing again, and now it should go back to the relaxed vibe that it was known for before. It's no luxury, but if...

Whilst travelling around Zanzibar this summer. My boyfirend and i wanted to find a beachside hotel/ hostel in Jambiani that would not break the bank. We decided to only stay for 2 nights as we still had a lot of the island to see but i definately could of stayed for longer. There is a great atmosphere surrounding this hotel...

Spent 8 days at this amazing venue. One never gets tired at looking at the sea view day in and day out. The staff are very friendly and the host Max and Suzzie went out of there way to make this a fabulous vacation. Will be back again with others.

Stayed here for 2 nights in June this year. The staff is great. I learned how to scuba with the owner - cheapest prices on the island and an excellent teacher! The beds are big, there are mosquito nets, and the place is clean. Didn't really have hot water, but we were there during low season & were the only...

Had a pizza there for lunch. Worst food on our travel so far and highly priced 10$. No service attitude at all and a very dirty toilette. We did not discover any guest but a lot staff hanging around. Would NEVER spend a vacation there!!!
