So much to say about this intimately private boutique hotel. The adventurous climb up the mountain was indeed a fun feature of the trip (rent a 4x4 without a doubt and keep an eye out for the black/gold pineapple signs along the way). Our champagne welcome as we pulled up from wonderfully soft-spoken Marlon was a nice surprise. He gave us a quick tour of the space and we gasped at the view as we entered our suite. Our freshly prepared ceviche and mahi-mahi dinner served by Marlon and Tomi and our personal welcome from the owner, Jessie, by a beautifully starlit bottomed infinity pool was the first of 4 incredible days here. The view from both the suite and the restaurant/pool is spectacular overlooking the Whales Tail and Pacific Ocean.
Each morning we relaxed and sipped coffee amongst the morning toucans, enjoyed top service from Juan and their inclusive breakfast (we highly recommend their eggs benedict with smoked fish accompanied by a pineapple mimosa), and listened to tree frogs sing each night as we soaked in our room's private splash pool.
We made our way down the mountain 3 of the 4 days, venturing into Uvita, walking the Whale's Tail at low tide, sipping brews and chatting with Jason at the Bier Garten, enjoying the beef nachos at the Whales Tail Brewery (both on the way up the mountain), and stumbling upon a GIANT River otter at Cascada El pavon (freaked me out...so big I thought it was a seal).
Upon departing, Marlon was kind enough to have fresh fruit and yogurt/granola ready for us since we had to leave super early Sunday morning to drive back to San Jose Airport.
Jessie, the owner, has created an oasis of privacy and luxury in the Costa Rica jungle.
We can't wait to go back.

I don't even know where to begin. We just returned from this stunning hotel last week. We flew into San Jose Airport and rented a car from National. We chose to stay at the Marriott in Belen (10 min from the airport) on recommendation from a friend the night we arrived and then drove out to the Golden Pineapple the next morning. It was an easy 3.5 drive just as they said (coming back we hit some rush hour traffic and it was closer to 4 hours and some change) to Uvita. This resort is one of the most stunning places we have ever stayed, beautifully appointed and the views and jungle sounds cannot be matched. Definitely need the 4x4 to get up the hill, but so worth it. Jesse, Marlon and her staff exemplified the gold standard in service, the food from the Crown restaurant was delicious and well priced...daily breakfast some of the best we've had from "inclusive" resorts. We were spoiled rotten. We hiked & swam the nearby Nauyaca Waterfalls and visited locals beachs and towns. Our favorite restaurants were Maracuya Street Food (just down the hill from the villas), Fuego Brewery and Coffee in Dominical and The Beehive in Uvita. The Whales Tail brewery (aslo at the bottom of the hill) was always packed but we did not get a chance to try it! We cannot wait to return! Thank you Jesse and all!

This place is truly incredible and one of a kind!! The Golden Pineapple is an ideal getaway where you can go to feel completely out of pocket, relaxed, and rejuvenated. The views are incredible and there is nothing like waking up with the sun to a beautiful rainforest and ocean view. The entire experience is that of relaxation and luxury. Every Villa has its own pool and everything you need to have a stay that is completely secluded and isolated, but keeps you feeling safe and taken care of. If you feel like having a drink and hanging out with others, their public infinity pool is ideal. The staff here has a level of professionalism and friendliness that is truly unparalleled. The owners have poured their hearts and souls into this place and it shows through their hospitality and keen attention to detail. They have literally thought of everything to make sure your stay exceeds all your expectations. Every aspect of your getaway has been taken into consideration from food and drinks to the rooms and décor, and every staff member goes above and beyond to make your experience the best possible. Within 20 minutes of arriving, checking out our villa, and sitting down for a cocktail and quick bite to eat, we extended our stay another night (would have probably extended longer if we didn’t have to go back to work). We will absolutely be coming back here and have told all our friends about how incredible our experience was. This is by far the best adults only place in Costa Rica at more than reasonable pricing. HIGHLY recommend. You will not be disappointed!

Amazing place. The villas are overlooking the ocean and the jungle and are build so that noone can see in your villa so you feel alone in the jungle, it is just awesome.
The villas are really spacious and clean. The kitchen is well equipped and state of the art, you have a bathtub outside surrounded by vegetation so you feel like tarzan and jane :).
The pool is infinity type and overlook the ocean, it evens lights up at night and settle a nice night ambiance.
The service is simply incredible, every single of your needs are met and the personel is really nice.
The owner has so much attention to details that it make all the difference (for exemple a black small towel to help with the demake-up, the beach towels are changed daily which is really practical as most beaches have black sand that stains easily, different type of lighting in each room so you can set the mood you like, you can whatsapp the hotel from your villa if you have any request etc...).
You get a welcome drink upon arrival and can use the main pool until your villa is ready which is a real plus.
The breakfast are simply amazing, everything is freshly made on the spot, you get several choices of smoothies, coffees and breakfast meals.
We were on our honeymoon and they knew it and had a bottle of prosecco, flowers and chocolate waiting for us, it was so sweet...

But be aware you really really need a 4x4 to get there because the road is unpaved, full of rocks and really steep so that even with a 4x4 you are on the edge of your seat each time 😅.

Upon booking off photos and reviews, there are no pictures that do justice. We arrived late NYE and were greeted by Marlon and Jessie(owner). The grounds are truly luxurious and sophisticated, it was only the morning after I woke up I was reminded by the views that we were on a mountain by the jungle. Waking up to the sun rise and the sounds of birds at GPV is definitely something I could get used to. In the morning we were greeted by Ana and Oval. I have always appreciated small menu’s when all items are made tasteful and that is what GPV offered.
This is the first trip where my fiancée and I wanted to focus on some much needed R&R. We were driven safely by Lusbane to and from the airport. Although if you want to explore more on your own, the roads are very easy to drive. The rooms accommodates you with everything you need, so you literally don’t need to leave your villa. Jessie truly considered every detail when building this paradise, the aesthetics still has me in awe. So modern and beautiful. But aside from the beauty, we won’t forget all the hosts we were able to share conversations and laugh with. Those are unforgettable. Thank you to Jessie and your team for taking time to make us feel at home. I highly recommend this place in CR if you are looking for a intimate or tranquil getaway. I never visit a place twice, but GPV is one I would. Great peaceful mental refresh to start our year!

This resort is phenomenal. The service, privacy, food, beverages, views, comfort....truly unprecedented. My first hospitality corporate job was at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. This hotel easily meets their standards plus.

The owner, Jessie Rodgers, has created the perfect retreat from the world in this corner of paradise. Each morning we had breakfast included and were treated to culinary delights like we’ve rarely had elsewhere. The lunch and dinner menu are just as delectable. At night, we slept with windows open, fountain in our pool on, and peaceful rain forest sounds surrounding us on all sides. During the day, the public pool is delightful, and has views of the whale tail...extremely refreshing to use. The private pool in each villa is also an amazing amenity for the ultimate in privacy. The shower and bath are actually outside in a perfect rain forest environment. It was our 30th anniversary and Jesse arranged massages in the room and a four course meal served in our room.

All of that said...what makes this place over the top is the service. We felt like Leo, Marlin, and Anna became our family while there. Along with the owner Jesse, their spirit of hospitality combined with their attention to detail is something to be experienced or you won’t believe it. I would say they gave us the most relaxing and best vacation we have ever had. It was well worth what we paid to experience this lovely, stunning, warm, magical place. Thank you Jessie, Leo, Anna, and Marlin! Hope to see you again soon!

My husband and I spent two nights at this hotel and were blown away. The staff were super friendly and easy to talk to, as well as super helpful with any information we needed about the city for our travels. The rooms were beyond beautiful and clean. We stayed in the two bedroom villa and the pool we had was amazing, not to mention the bathtub outside with the view made my trip! - With a bottle of wine of course :) . The food we had at the restaurant was one of the best we have had in Costa Rica as well. The only thing worth mentioning is that you definately need a 4x4 to get to the hotel, but it is definitely worth it! Loved this place and will definately be going back!

The most beautiful pictures still don’t truly do it justice. We have been here for a week and had constant and consistent impeccable service. The property is sparkling clean, Jessie’s eye for detail comes through from the room’s amenities to the flexible menu, even down to the unique lighting throughout the property. Can’t wait to come back, Oval and Marlin made us feel welcome and had great suggestions for other fun outings. Try Marlin’s Parrot Martini or ask Oval about his soon to be famous hot sauce. Thank you all for making our trip so special.

So just a little bit of background.. I own a medium size business, have 5 children, my 85 year old mother-in-law (with dementia) lives with us and we have 3 dogs.. so when my wife and I were planning this vacation, I wanted to RELAX!

I can honestly say that this experience has ruined every other vacation I will ever take! First off, the staff is friendly, funny and accommodating! The owner is amazing and gives you travel tips only the locals know about and greets you with a smile every day.

Now on to the villa.. we got the sunset villa and it was the most “grounding” experience in my life. You are completely private and one with nature. Every morning the toucans, hummingbirds and other tropical birds come by for a visit. The private infinity pool is clean and SO welcoming on a hot spring day.

We stayed 9 nights and I think I only showered one time inside, because the outdoor shower overlooking the water was so much more of a natural experience.

The complementary breakfast in the morning was a 10+ and the dinners were the same!

While we were here, we checked out other hotels just to compare and this resort is hands down the best! I honestly can’t recommend this place enough! If you are on the fence or trying to decide, stop right here and book it!! You will NOT be disappointed!!

The room was absolutely gorgeous. I'm usually hard to please as It pertain to the cleanliness of a room, but the attention to detail was beyond my imagination. The service was beyond five star. The food and drinks at the restaurant were delicious. Leo, Anna, and Marlon were just all Angels. They make you feel like family or friends and made it hard to leave. The location was very close to town with amazing restaurants and bars to visit. I felt very safe in the area and people were super friendly. I will certainly will be back and I will not consider staying anywhere else.

Juan Santamaria International Airport is the closest international airport and it is about a 3 hour drive from the hotel. You can also take a domestic flight to Quepos airport. The domestic flight is about 15-20 minutes and the drive to the hotel from there is 45 minutes.
