We travelled to the Pyrenees for a two week walking and butterflying holiday and we couldn't have chosen a better place to spend our time. The hotel is small but perfect - our room was superb with a balcony and spa bath and very comfortable. Meals were very good - 4 course evening meal was of the highest quality and... More

This was our second stay at Le Central and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The demi-pension option gives you a classy three-course dinner of the regional cuisine and a good quality breakfast - at a reasonable price. The modern rooms are very comfortable and wifi is reliable. There is a reduced rate for a single person occupying a double room -... More

Stayed one night while touring around the Pyranees. Great central location on the Main Street to walk out and access all bars, restaurants and shops. The hotel has been renovated and is nicely presented with 2 lounge areas, a cosy dining room and a lovely garden with sun loungers. Great to relax with a drink watching the sun go down... More

The Le Central Hotel Bareges is a very comfortable hotel, renovated recently and ideally situated for walking, cycling or skiing holidays. The hotel is on the Route de Tourmalet and the Tour de France will pass the door this July. Our rooms were very spacious and well appointed, the double with a separate bathroom and toilet. We stayed on half... More

We stayed at the deceptively simple, but very good and wonderfully friendly Castets d'Ayre, but ate at the Central. While the decor (very recently refurbished) may not be to everyone's taste, the cooking, service and value are absolutely excellent. A 23 Euro menu with amuse bouches, and 4 courses, all of exceptional quality. Unbelievable!

We visited this hotel in July to bike the Col Du Tourmalet and see the Tour de France, the hotel is very easy to get to located on the main street of Bareges. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking but we were able to always find a spot either outside the tourist information centre opposite or just round the... More

Out third stay and as good as ever. Breakfast and dinner delicious and wine extremely reasonably priced with some appellations we had not seen/tried before. Jacuzzi-style bath good fun and walk-in wardrobe useful when dealing with lots of ski gear (not all rooms have either of these, BTW). Good to have proper ski room with heated rack. Really useful help... More

We stayed here for a week skiing, and could not have been happier with our choice. The food was delicious (four course menu, french cuisine, no pizza or fries), and the rooms were clean and stylish. The village suffered somewhat in the 2013 floods, but is rapidly refreshing itself and has more charm than any concrete ski centre. Several local... More

Staff extremely friendly, nice big room, wonderful spa bath that we made use of twice a day after all the hiking and skiing. The breakfast was great with a lovely outlook. Hard to find somewhere for Dinner in Bareges before the holidays start. We stayed 4 nights from 12 Dec 2013 and alot of places were closed.
