Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

i would suggest everyone to be very careful to don't get lied !!The owner of the place Alex , is untrustworthy person, full of lies for the service that he offers in this location. he is a crook!! as a guest, would you be happy and comfortable knowing that you can be manipulated and lied about the services ? like jacuzzi, restornat, air conditioning in your "room" ?

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at CSky. The view from our room was phenomenal. The staff was excellent and provided wonderful customer service. Gertha was fabulous! She was so kind and helpful. The food was amazing. I truly loved the fact that we can choose the time that we wanted our breakfast served. We highly recommend staying at CSky.

The facilities are not 4 stars, the blinds were broken, the jacuzzi lights do not work nor the ones on the terrace, the room is very basic and without space to store the clothes. excellent location. The cleaning, the taxi man and Gerta the girl from the bar enlivened the stay. The payment system does not work you must have cash.

After spending a lot of time scrutinising the hotel's on the Caldera side of Santorini (which is where we wanted to be) we booked a package deal to CSky Hotel in June for 5 nights from the 18th September, 2023. It looked perfect and just what we needed for a short break after a hectic 6 months. Imagine our surprise when we receive an email from our agent on the afternoon of the 15th September informing us the the hotel had cancelled our reservation. Not taking this news lying down, I rang the hotel to find out the reason for the cancellation. Imagine my surprise when I was informed by Alex that they needed our room for a larger party coming for 7 nights. We were offered 3 nights in another hotel on the opposite side of the island and then we could move back CSky for the remaining 2 nights. I explained that we had booked specifically for the Caldera view and that moving around when there for a short space of time wasn't acceptable. We were offered another hotel nearby but again would have to move from one hotel to another. Different dates were suggested but work commitments and the inability to change the flights made this a no go. On top of all this we've lost £246 that we paid to Easyjet for seat allocation and luggage. Easyjet will only refund within 24 hours of booking, who'd have known they were going to cancelled on when they'd just booked!!! As I type this I should still be sat on my terrace with Caldera views so all in all my husband and I are not very happy with the CSky hotel. We would urge other would be travellers to be wary. If I could have given a zero I would as we obviously can't comment on the facilities as we never got to try them.

About the view, do NOT worry, you will have the most breathtaking view in all over Santorini. It is in the middle of nowhere, so it is so quiet and romantic for those who don't fit with crowds and stairs and touristy nature of Santorini The service is as good as the view, Gerta is the soul of this place, Harris (the manager) and pero were so attentive and very willing to help. The chef is a genius one, actually he is one of the best in Santorini. But things to mention that may improve the property to as high as 5... The pools must be heated, we couldn't use ours as it was cold and beware it will be cold in September. The furniture really needs to be renewed, but this is a side thing because you may not use it as your stuff will be in your luggage for your stay. Again, insane views fron sunrise to sunset, do not miss this in Santorini.

When we arrived we were in absolute awe of the location and views. Keep in mind first time visiting Greece and Santorini so we didnt know what to expect and dont have comparisons of other hotels and this was incredibly lovely place. Positives: 360 views sunrise and sunset, very quiet secluded away from busy sections, people, crowds; friendly staff; spacious and clean rooms, complementary breakfast brought to room each morning. Negatives: hotel needs upgrading for example blinds, pillows, mattress poor quality; hot tub had bugs all day even though they claim they clean 2x a day; no coffee maker in room; bathroom is small only fits one person at a time; no hooks for towels; no vanity table or large mirror outside bathroom; shower is meh last morning hot water was lacking. For a 4 star hotel all these should be expected. And not the fault of hotel management but it gets very windy so its difficult to put umbrellas up for shade by pool and we didnt get to sit there much due to this. certainly need a car to get around; Overall we are gracious for the experience and stay.

We booked this property on Vrbo, having never been to Santorini before the advert actually painted this as a Villa property- not a hotel! So that was the first shock! I emailed the contact and asked if the property had a private infinity pool and was advised there was a communal one and a private one, I then presumed this was a series of villas nearby each other, the photos on the ad depicted a property that had a private infinity pool hence my question for clarification prior to booking, 5 of us booked this, 4 adults and a teenager. Whilst booking this there was no option to add an age for the teen, as he is under 18 he is still classified as a child so we booked this for 4 adults and 1 child, We arrived at the property it then became apparent this was a hotel complex, albeit very nice with amazing views! The communal infinity pool is very nice with an amazing view. We eventually found some staff as the reception was unoccupied and we’re shown to our property, This consisted of a villa type property. One large bedroom, one small bedroom that is located upstairs via some quite treacherous plastic stair case steps, there was no 4th bed for the teen. We also did not have the private infinity pool that was shown on the advertisement or that i presumed was the one we had been told we did have when I emailed. I went to speak to the Manager, a man called Harris who was very aggressive and loud and did not want to listen to what I was saying- in fact all he did was shout over the top of everything I was trying to say, it transpired that the photo in the ad is of a different property which I feel was very misleading, Why put a picture of something that you don’t get on the advert for a specific property? Also the “private” infinity pool is available but at an extra cost of €250 on top of your booking, this is up a cliff edge of 60 steps. The view is something else and it’s definitely a once in a life time experience (unless you visit again obviously) but I feel this should be made clear prior to booking this property that you have to pay extra for it, that it does not come with your property despite the pictures on the advert depicting otherwise! Furthermore when I raised this it then transpired that apparently a child is a baby or toddler, If that is the case then surely the hotel should make this apparent at the point of booking, I was made to feel like we were trying to pull a fast one when this was again down to communication. Why would we book a property that didn’t have enough beds for our party? It’s nonsensical! We didn’t have a comfortable nights sleep as 2 of us had to share a small single bed! We ended up booking the private infinity pool and due to the miscommunication we were given a discount on this. The room also came with a hot tub on the roof and after the sunset we were going to use this, 3 people used this for about 10 minutes then all the electrics went off! Whilst we ate our dinner we were advised that this often happens and they would do their best to rectify it, hours later we still had not heard anything and had to chase it up, Again it wasn’t repaired. So for the entire evening we didn’t have this use of this, At 11.30pm I texted Csky to say we were going to bed and they then offered us the use of the hot tub in the next villa, a bit pointless at this stage as we were going to bed, would have been nice if this had been offered whilst we had the opportunity to enjoy it, I did raise this with the person I booked the property with and he accused us of flooding it and not following instructions, 3 people max entered that hot tub at one time, no more! We were advised by staff this often happens! Lastly it’s concerning that an electrical item people are sitting in is tripping!! Surely a big safety question mark!? Overall our experience of the actual property was nice, the views were breathtaking and the property clean, marred by the lack of communication at booking and the rude and aggressive nature of the Manager. Also due to the fact that based on conversations prior to booking we thought we had our own private infinity pool, it was never explained this was an extra cost and reading the response in hindsight it was very vague and misleading, We also didn’t have the use of the hot tub due to a technical fault that apparently often happens - 2 of the main reasons for actually making this booking, which was disappointing! The management should ensure detailed information is on the advert regarding what the property comes with and not presume people know, that way they will not be offended when people question things and act so aggressively. Similarly if they have age restrictions on children make customers aware! It’s very simple! We were contradicted regarding this also, we were advised by Harris that the age of a child was a baby or toddler, yet on Vrbo when discussing this misunderstanding we were told a child is up-to age 10 - if that were the case we still would not of had enough beds for us all. So seems nothing makes much sense! If you book this property be sure to get exact details about your property you are booking, you won’t be disappointed about the views, the staff were very nice just let down by the rude and aggressive shouty manager Harris

The first thing that you see is the amazing pool and the fantastic view over the caldera. We never tired of the view in the week we were there. Our two person suite was directly below the bar and had an amazing view from the bedroom window out over the caldera. The room opened out onto a balcony with a jacuzzi, sunbeds and patio furniture where we were served breakfast every morning at a time of our choosing. The food and service was very good and the chef was very accommodating. For us the best thing about the hotel was the amazing staff, all of whom were so welcoming and friendly. We have to commend Gerta whose cheerful smile would light up anyone’s day as she goes about ensuring your stay is perfect. Yannis and Harris were so helpful and full of information about the island. Everyone was lovely. There is a hiking route from Thira to Oia that passes by the hotel and in both directions there are small chapels that are about twenty-five minutes walk and from which you can get the most amazing views. You need to be fairly fit though.
