We arrived as a group of friends, staying for 5 nights. On arrival we were told they had overbooked and so we would have to move the next night, obviously we stated our displeasure at this and as it happened we ended up staying for the full 5 nights. Seems they are completely over booking all the time... Anyhow, on... More

Having stayed at Puerto Plata almost 20 years ago we were wondering whether much would have changed. To be honest the place is just how we remembered it, no frills, clean, basic and does the job. We have stayed 5* in Dubai and hired lovely villas in Orlando so we were wondering what we would think of the place. Upon... More

Where do I start! Turned up at the Puerto Plata on 7th Nov 2016, along with 7 other couples and families of all ages, all of which were handed a letter stating that due to computer errors they had overbooked us all. We were told that all of us was being shipped out to playa del ingles (I don't think... More

The trip from airport to resort was a bit of an epic journey and on arrival at the Puerto Plata, tired and a bit fed up, we were directed to our room which we had expected to be a one bedroom apartment, only to discover it was a "cosy" kitchenette. However as this was all the place offer we accepted... More

Nice aparthotel. Spotless room and pool area. Hotel well looked after. Very nice and helpful staff. Really quiet at night time. Town centre not too far away. 15 min walk. The restaurant Vista Grill seems a little bit expensive. But there many nice restaurants in town.
