Tenerife Self Catering cottages at La Bodega Casa Rural are for couples. Tenerife Self Catering at La Bodega offers country cottages that are situated in San Miguel de Abona in the south of Tenerife, just 15 minutes from Golf del Sur and 25minutes from Los Cristianos. It's an Ideal destination for couples that want to be away from the madding crowd yet it's also close enough to enjoy all the facilities that Tenerife has to offer. Golf courses, beaches, outstanding scenery. Historical villages, towns, local culture and a vast array of cuisine, from typical Canarian to Fine dining. The cottages are for two adults sharing, sorry not suitable for children. The salt pool is heated in the winter.

Now called La Bodega Casa Rural. If you go, and I highly recommend it, and you use Google Maps, you should get directions to Tenerife Self Catering, not La Bodega Casa Rural. At the time of writing, the latter point in maps is wrong. Furthermore, I recommend that you avail yourself of the wonderful dinners (and wines) which the hosts offer. As you can tell, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

We were very happy with our stay at La Bodega. The accommodation is spacious and well equipped, the grounds are lovely and I am sure the swimming pool would have been great at a warmer time of the year. There were many extras that we benefited from-the walking information, the DVDs, milk, water and other bulky items for sale in the office and Sheila will also cook an evening meal if ordered in advance. It all felt very homely and relaxed. The only downside is the access/entrance which is a bit off putting when you first arrive but you quickly get used to the big gate and the road outside is not very busy. We found this an ideal location-still in the sun but not in the resorts. The village of Sao Miguel de Abona is practical and unpretentious but with good shops and plenty of places to eat. All in all an excellent choice.…

Our 2nd time here. That's says more than any review. Lovely hosts, charming and very peaceful setting, Four two bedrooms cottages around a shared pool, although most of the time it is you or one of the other couples, never busy. Accomadation is spotless and to us traditional Spanish, comprising a large bedroom, separate bathrooom and a large lounge dinner wirh outside balcony. Host are delightful and very helpful. A gem of a place.

We looked for a holiday which was very quiet, away of hustle and bustle with a lot of privacy. Our searching took us to La Bodega and we got exactly what we wanted! We stayed in Jasmine which was beautiful. Lovely view of the pool. Clean, spacious and full access to everything you’d need in the kitchen. Sheila kindly got some basics in the fridge for us before we arrived, and her cooking was amazing! The walk up to the supermarket / bank / bakery was so much closer than we expected. We need not have worried about not having a car. We did not come to explore the island so enjoyed keeping ourselves to ourselves and sitting quietly by the pool daily. It was lovely to see the lizards, butterflies and all sorts of pretty nature around us. We were lucky that we never shared the pool with anyone our whole stay and the weather was wonderful. We would certainly like to come back for a longer period at some point in the future. …

If you like your independence and peace and quiet away from the coastal strip in an authentic Tenerife town then this is the place for you. You need a car and it's a good base to tour the island and you can always return for a swim in the pool and an evening meal expertly prepared by Sheila. Very pleasant!

The 4 apartments are located in a very beautiful casa rural. Nice setting with the terraces and patios. Our cottage (Frangipane) was cosy, well equiped and spacious. There are some nice old elements that give the apartment this extra cachet. The only little minor point about it for us was the bathroom. It's rather cramped. Instead of a shower in the bathtub with shower curtain we prefer a regular shower. Although the shower was perfect. The swimmingpool was a little heated, which was perfect in april. Comfortable sunloungers. The whole place breathes peace and quiet. We had dinner one night in our cottage, cooked by Sheila and it was delicious. Absolutely recommended. It's situated in a central part of the south of tenerife (close to the pleasant little mountain village Vilaflor, lovely Los Abrigos harbour, Teide National Park). We didn't always had the best weather on the island (stayed april), but from here you are close by the sunny parts of the island (coast, mountains).…

Lovely accommodation with good views, set in a small town with good amenities. Very helpful and friendly hosts, both whilst you're staying there and beforehand to ensure you get the most from your stay. Well located for both the coast, hills and mountains. Well worth a consideration if what you want is a relaxing break.

From the first time you contact them you know that you are on to a winner! Sheila and Ray are wonderful hosts. They really WANT you to enjoy your stay and will offer as much or as little help and information as each individual guest(s) requires. Suggestions for places to visit, timing of visits (e.g. Masca!), walks, beaches, boat trips, restaurants etc. were invaluable. La Bodega is located about 20 minutes from Tenerife South Airport, with day trips to any part of the island feasible. Being off the beaten track from the tourist resorts means not getting caught up in traffic jams. There are just 3 well equipped 'cottages' each for couples: quiet, exclusive, comfortable and spacious accommodation, perfect for two. There are good shops (small supermarket, baker, pharmacy, butcher etc.) within easy walking distance in the village, plus large supermarkets a short drive away. Sheila will also cook delicious evening meals for guests to enjoy in their cottage or outside on the patio. There is plenty of external space, a pool and a pretty garden. A week there was not long enough. Can't wait to return!…

We stayed in one of the self catering cottages at La Bodega and it was a beautiful place. The cottages are lovely, just enough space to yourselves and very rustic. The pool is great and the gardens are also worth an explore - grab yourself an orange fresh from the tree! They are green but don't let that put you off they are meant to be. The local area is really nice too, we walked up the hill to the bakery almost every day and the little supermarket too. The bus service for the area is really good and you get a air conditioned coach, not like the buses were used to! Worth paying for a bus card for discounted rates if you use the buses a lot, although they are not expensive.
