During my recent stay at Santa Susanna Resort, I found a few aspects that could use improvement. This hotel was excellent value for money but is definitely just a 3 star. While the overall experience was satisfactory and checking in was easy there were notable shortcomings that affected my stay.

Firstly, the hotel's food quality was mediocre at best. The variety of dishes offered was limited, and the taste often fell short of expectations and was often luke warm. I had hoped for more authentic diverse Spanish cuisine, but the meals lacked the flavors and freshness I had anticipated. The fruit however was lovely and fresh.

Secondly, the entertainment provided by the hotel left much to be desired. The activities were repetitive and lacked creativity, failing to engage both adults and children. It would have been more enjoyable if the hotel had invested in diversifying their entertainment offerings.

Moreover, the service levels exhibited a lack of enthusiasm and attentiveness from the staff. While there were some friendly individuals, overall, the service felt lackadaisical and uninspired. I believe a more proactive and attentive approach to guest needs would significantly enhance the overall guest experience. The token system to get a drink worked well and kept the hotel free from being littered with glassware. But is was disappointing that you could not get a coffee or tea in a coffee mug during the day, instead it was provided in the same plastic glass wear as the cocktails and drinks.

Finally, the cleanliness of the hotel was disappointing. The rooms and common areas appeared to be adequately maintained, but housekeeping seemed inconsistent. Only one toilet roll was provided, no handwash and our room didn’t have a towel tail, balcony or terrace so drying our wet swimwear was a problem. The shower was so small it was barely usable. When our toilet flooded and a staff member was sent to clean it up, she only mopped up the water. I had to ask for the room to be properly disinfected and this was alarming. A more diligent approach to cleaning would undoubtedly improve the comfort and satisfaction of guests.

Despite these critical points, the hotel did have some redeeming qualities. The location was convenient, providing easy access to nearby attractions and the beach and a free shuttle bus is provided by the hotel. Additionally, the family-friendly amenities, such as the pool and kids' club, were appreciated by those with children. It was nice to be at a resort with plenty of sun beds and without the need for a 6am dash to get a spot. The pool is very deep at one end but the presence of a life guard is very reassuring. There is a lovely splash park with slides and a not so warm jacuzzi.

In conclusion, Santa Susanna Resort f
had some notable areas that could use improvement, particularly in the realms of food quality, entertainment offerings, service levels, and cleaning standards. While the overall experience was average, addressing these issues would undoubtedly elevate the hotel's reputation and guest satisfaction levels. I still believe it was good value for money however it won’t be a place I won’t be returning to.

My husband and I spent two weeks holiday at Santa Susanna Resort Hotel in May. We had been regular visitors before 2019, when my husband took ill and then there was Covid.
We were warmly welcomed back and given Room 329 at the end of corridor with great views which overlooked a vegetable farm. It was beside a lift down to the swimming pool.
The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the town and beach. A free minibus, provided by the Hotel, travelled frequently down to the town and train station, which was a great bonus.
There is a supermarket next door, as well as other very good shops in close vicinity. An outdoor market is held close by every Sunday.
The hotel is kept in very good condition, although a little dated. Cleaning never seems to stop, with corridor floors and those outside hotel washed frequently each day.
Our bedroom was also kept very clean, floors washed and towels changed daily by very pleasant cleaning staff.
The restuarant is very well run, again staff extremely pleasant and very hard working, always taking time for a smile and a wee chat. A good selection of food was always available - salads, beef, chicken and fish, which was our favourite. There was also fruit, yogurts and ice-cream .
A token given at reception was exchanged for a drink, the glass kept until next drink or handed back for a token. We found this system worked very well, as before glasses were left lying at pool etc. Staff then had to spend time going around colleting them.
A snack bar beside the swimming pool was open every morning and afternoon serving free burgers, drinks etc.
Everything throughout the Hotel seemed to be very well organized We have nothing but praise for management and all staff and thank them very much for a most enjoyable stay and look forward to returning again.

Just home from a week spent at the resort and have to say what a lovely place staff can’t do enough for you rooms clean and fresh towels everyday food ok what you would expect on all inclusive and can get a bit repetitive towards the end of the week but still plenty of choices. Plenty of sun beds round the pool area and kids loved the pool games which was on twice a day. There is a free train which takes you in to town as well but it’s about a 15/20 minute walk. The only negative I could say is no music around the pool area through the day and entertainment on night is mainly kids disco and then music on the terrace area could do with some thing like karaoke or a act on alternative evenings. Over all great value for money and a great holiday.

Arrived and greeted at reception with a cheery smile, quickly checked in and was told about the 1 Euro refundable deposit for the token to use at the bar. Seemed straightforward enough and if it allowed more staff behind the bar rather than collecting empty glasses as people are too lazy to take them bar then fair enough.
Just make sure you return your glass at the end of the evening or take it to your room.
Plenty of room in the actual room itself, it was spotless and cleaning staff going round all of the time cleaning. Also maid service in the room every day to put in new towels and make the beds.
The food was basic, the breakfast was a combination of cooked, cereal, pastries, toast, fruit and yogurt. The cook ed breakfast was the same each day but could always make your own toasties and butties so could vary it up a little.
I did not eat at lunch as usually went out for the day but never had a problem with the evening meal. There was a good amount of variation, the salad was always fresh and the staff were constantly replacing the dishes. Every night there was a mixture of different chicken, fish and pork dishes. Different pasta dishes and on one night chef cooked pizza. Another night the chef made a lovely beef stew. Also different soups/broths every evening which were lovely.
Limited entertainment in the evenings but that did not bother me at all as would rather speak to people than listen to some 3rd rate singer.
Plenty of room round by the pool, it is a shame that people do not pick up after themselves as the amount of rubbish and food left for the pool cleaners every evening even though there were bins nearby was disgusting.
Staff were very friendly and always willing to answer any queries.
The free train into town, whilst sometimes late was excellent and saved the less able members of the group a 10 minute walk into the centre of the town. Reception will phone a taxi if requested for 50c. A taxi anywhere in Santa Susanna costs 7 Euro no matter the distance. A supermarket next door to the hotel.
A great hotel for the money paid. The first time here and I will come back.

The pros, a lovely cleaning lady who smiled (no one else there did) and kept the room clean despite needing help that was the least of my worries. The rest was all a nightmare and I did my best to keep myself and my 2 boys out of the hotel. We went to marine land for a day which was great and a lovely pool there. I read the hotel reviews before leaving and thought it will be ok we are only there for 4 nights, well I was wrong. Our room was on the ground floor and we barely slept through the noise, kids swearing, screaming playing with balls in the corridor at midnight. I asked to move rooms but no joy. The food is awful. If your happy with a bread roll and cold chips, dry crispy fish and the only edible dessert was fruit then your in for a treat. I ended up taking my kids to McDonald’s 10 mins away. Carrefour next door thankfully too! All inclusive drinks - all on tap so fizzy, no juices or selection for kids unless you’re ok with coke for the duration. Reception unhelpful. Only accept cash! So bring plenty euros as you’ll be charged at check in for tourist tax, deposit for a safe (which I felt I needed), even the tv controller!! Never been to a hotel which had a tv but I had to hire the controller! Who nicks a controller. Well when you visit you’ll put 2+2 together and see the majority of clientele 😳 happy to get out and home. Pool was never cleaned that I saw, checked for chemicals or netted at the end of the day, my son came out the pool the first day with black hairs wrapped around his fingers. It’s just minging honestly. I was unable to switch hotels or i would have after our first night. Honestly, don’t go here, find another hotel nearby lots of really nice ones on the beach front we wished we could move to. Beach is lovely and lots of nice cafes there. Head there!

Just returned from a week at the Santa Sunna Resort. The hotel has clean room comfortable beds. Cleans are always around. No issues with asking for more towels. The food it's standard all inclusive food. We always found somthing to eat including my 7 year old who only eats yogurts and pizza at home. The pools are great, my children were more than happy spending all day, every day in the pool. We would go down around 9am and always found sunbeds and a parasol. We kept and eye on our water toys, few kids did pick up somthing that was my sons but when asked they gave it back no issues. We advise staying away from the toilet area as it can become quite smelly during the hotter times of the day. We didn't have anything go missing from our room (308) that's with tablets and phone on charge in full veiw. We requested a fridge which was in our room when we arrived, we were able to sneak some yogurts from the restaurant to keep in the fridge for snacks. The little supermarket next door (carreford) is well worth a visit to stock up on your night time drinks. The hotel shop doesn't have alot and is quite expensive. The mini bus to the beach is worth taking, especially with tired like legs that wouldn't of made the walk home in the sun. There is no entertainment but we made our own which our children appreciate more than a disco. We asked the receptionist to call us a taxi for to the airport. They charged us €10 for the privilege and then we had to pay the taxi the standard rate of €65. Would recommend calling one yourself if possible. We booked Marineland though the hotel which was worth while as we paid €33 per adult, €23 per child and €13 for infant which included entry and the bus there and back. If we had bought at the gate it's the same price wlbut without the bus. The hotel has aircon in the rooms and some public areas but not the stairs or corridors. Overall not a bad budget holiday, we would return if on a budget again.

A great family hotel. All staff were absolutely brilliant. Cleaning staff ensured bedrooms were cleaned to a high standard each day. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Bar staff worked their socks off all day and night. Restaurant staff worked very hard ensuring food was topped up and fresh throughout.
Plenty to keep the youngsters occupied, fun and games in and by the pool. Disco and animation team, games room etc.
There are regular trains running to the beach and mountains (5.50 Euro for mountains). Nice to do at during sunset. Beach is 5 minute walk.
Train station round the corner around 5 minutes where you can hop on to Barcelona for the day. Less than 40 euro return for 4 people. Well recommend this.
Rooms were basic but comfortable, decent shower and serviced daily.
Not ideal for wheelchair users and people with walking difficulties as hotel is on multiple levels.

Holiday here was so bad I left 3 days before I was meant to. Felt like I was back at junior school with the amount of stupid rules set in the hotel. Basically get confined to your room at 11pm as they shut all entertainment and close the hotel so you can’t get in or out anyway past then. They served the same food everyday and all they had was fish and tasteless fries. The food made both myself and my friend very ill, not a day went by where we didn’t have to get something sorted or fixed, the shower was awful, had no control over the temperature or pressure and you had to be very lucky if it actually worked long enough for the duration of a shower. Never really thought I’d be in a position where nearly £200 on flights home was more appealing than even spending another minute in the hotel

When looking for a cheap 4 night get away, we were not short of options but through research we found out about this resort.

First of all the positives :
the staff here are exceptional from the front desk to the entertainment to the barmen . Nothing seems too much of an ask and they go out of their way to be great with kids too .

The hotel facilities are great there was always food available either in the dining room or at the pool side bar meaning you never had to go hungry the same can be said for the drinks 🍺 a great token system you get a token to exchange for a glass for your next drink and when you’re done you can get the token back to use for the next time .

The food selection for breakfast lunch and dinner was always a decent standard my partner had Chrons disease and never got ill from the food .

The pool always has an on duty lifeguard and plenty of sun loungers available with a good splash zone for the children .

The Wi-Fi is good and free , the rooms all have a great aircon which is free and included too

There is a brilliant land train that runs every 30 minutes into the centre of Santa Susanna which is free to all hotel residents or €5 if not so that’s great feature too .

2 minutes away from the hotel is a mall shopping complex with a great supermarket and an array of stores which was so convenient and made for a good time out.

Barcelona is achievable for a day trip €11 return on the train and a 1hour 30 journey however be warned the train ticket system is not the easiest thing to manoeuvre.

Now the not so goods : the hot tub is not hot and only has one working jet .

The bar closes at 11pm and the resort is well away from any nightlife so if you’re looking to be out all night this isn’t the place for you .
Barcelona is 1 hour and a half away by train so if you’re looking at wanting to go to the city regularly this is not the place for you ( the ticket system is also frustrating and confusing ) .
The tv remote was missing to the room and the tv would not turn off without having to unplug it .
The shower head was broken and would often fall off randomly as it wasn’t fitted properly.

All in all would return in a heartbeat and recommend to anyone the negatives certainly do not outweigh the positives and it’s still a 5* review . I honestly think this place would rival most of the 4* hotels in the area

Just got back from this hotel with 3 children, ages 15, 11 and 7 and we all had a fab time. Wish we could have stayed longer. Staff are helpful, cleaners, kitchen staff all work so hard and couldn’t do enough for you.

Food was nice, always plenty to choose from. It’s a very lively, busy hotel. It’s a good job the all inclusive ends at 11pm as the British larger louts have to go to bed, worries me that they have young children when both parents are intoxicated and their children are running around and left to fend for themselves.

The only thing that spoilt it for us were the lazy slobs by the pool who are incapable of putting their rubbish in the many bins around the pool which results in the napkins given out with the burgers/hotdogs/toasties and tip top wrappers ending up in the pools. The states these families left the area around their sun loungers in at the end of the day was disgusting 🤢

But apart from that the hotel is well worth what you pay for, aircon is nice and cold, the free bus into town is handy, the supermarket next door is reasonable.

We will definitely return 👍🏾
