Just back after staying here for 7 nights. Where do I start! I loved every minute of our stay. We checked in at 12.15 after midnight, met a lovely man on reception and held our bags while we ran to the bar for a take away bottle of wine. The rooms are basic but very clean and maid service is every day and fresh towels everyday if needed. We had breakfast and dinner included. Everyone is catered for at these banquet buffets! Champagne available at breakfast which I never indulged but loved seeing it. Food was fresh and plentiful. Dinner every evening was amazing. Chefs were at an area to cook fresh meat and fish. Desserts were unreal , chocolate fountain display 1 of the nights with fresh fruit to dip, freshly made crepes another night. Very impressive. The bar had the loveliest man called Fabian serving, he spoke English very well, was friendly, funny and greeted us every day. There was entertainment every night with variously music singers and everyone joined in. Pool area is very nice. Location is perfect,we walked to the next town on either side of santa susanna. The train station is right across from the hotel. There is a fab market on Tuesday on the street outside hotel. On check out day a luggage room was available and also we were able to have a shower before our bus came as check out is 10am. I would highly recrecommend this hotel. I loved it from Starr to finish, every member of staff is so nice, friendly, efficient and all seem to like working there. Well worth the price

This is an amazing hotel.
There is actually nothing I can fault
The staff can’t do enough for you, they are helpful, kind, caring always saying hello, if you need anything they are happy to help.
Hotel rooms again lovely, spacious, clean
Always sunbeds free, day entertainment around the pool is really good,
If they do something for the kids there doing something for the adults too.

Food is lovely and always something different, desserts are amazing, fresh waffles one night, another night chocolate fountain, crepes.

Staffs speak English very well apart from a few.
Only thing that I wasn’t keen on is that any drinks you get is put on to a tab to your room and you pay your tab at the end of your stay! So just tally up what you are spending

Perfect hotel for short stays
Would definitely recommend and stay again

Can highly recommend Hotel Montemar Maritim for a stay. We, a family of 5 adults, arrived late on our first night. The check in was quick and it was great to know we cd still get food in the bar at 11.30. We went half board and just as well as we didn’t come across too many restaurants in the area. The food in the hotel could not be faulted. Plenty of fresh fruit, rolls, cakes, pancakes, meat, cheeses, and fry ups for breakfast, as well as an omelette/fried egg being cooked fresh for guests. Good choice for dinner also, plenty of starters, main and desserts!! Restaurant was spotlessly clean and restaurant staff were excellent. Rooms were basic but spotlessly clean also and cleaned daily. A very homely hotel with the staff being attentive and helpful at all times. The train station is directly across the road from the hotel. The pool area was clean and good sized outdoor pool

We spent one week in this hotel and can highly recommend it! It is clean, the hotel restuarant offers great meals and besides of the most popular foods that you can find there every day, there is always something new and special too + fresh vegetables and fruit, deliscious desserts. The staff is friendly, professional and ready to help you with wathever you need. We felt very quickly comfortable, almost like at home and we also liked the multicultural ambient.

We were glad to find out the train station is just across the street (no worries, we did not hear any noise) and went to visit Barcelona twice. One return ticket costs 8,60 eur. If you decide to go, remember to sign the ticket at the station before you get in the train. We got the timetable for the train at the reception in the hotel (to Barcelona and also back to Santa Susana). We went to the station at Plaza Catalunya, were you can easily find an info point for tourists (one like that is also next to La Sagrada Familia and I am pretty sure there are many others in the city center). From Plaza Catalunya you can simply walk to La Rambla and if you are interested in ocean life just like us, you can walk down to the Aquarium. Personally, I regret that we missed the opening hours for Palau de la Musica Catalana, which is also very close to Plaza Catalunya. At least we went see Parc Güell and La Sagrada Familia which I already mentioned. If you like Spanish fashion, you can easily find the shops too. Ask for the right direction at the info point and walk, it is close.

The hotel is located close to the beach (just across the street) which is quite clean, with no dogs allowed. The water was clean too, a little cold (our stay was from 12th - 19th June) but on a sunny day we were able to swim. There are also shops and supermarkets. Discotheques can be found quite close too, but the closest neighbourhood was quiet.

This hotel was a great choice, we especially appreciate the location, cuisine, cleanliness and friendly staff. If there will be any possibility for us to come back for the next holidays, we will for sure!

I am staying at this hotel right now and am loving it. Weather hasn't been great but it's still ok as they do have indoor pool and if you have a car lots more choice for places to visit. Having said that even if you don't want to hire a car, it is very easy to get around because of train service. We had a car but I am sure we could manage without it as well.

I couldnt see any recent reviews on this hotel and past reviewers mentioned that you have to pay for wifi which is not the case anymore. Also parking is free. You have to pay for the safe though but not a lot 14 pounds for one week. Also you need to pay deposit for TV remote, safe key and beach/pool towels.. Well it's just a deposit which you will get back. Staff members are very professional and lovely.

Overall, I think it's a good hotel with very good staff. Well done Montemar Maritim.

I stayed 7 days in this hotel with my 17 year old daughter, the hotel itself is lovely and clean and well kept. The grounds are well maintained and the majority of staff are really friendly and helpful. This hotel does not have alot of english guests (think we were the only two in the hotel at the time) however, this didnt bother me. The food is good but becomes repetitive but I think any hotel is the same, the area of Santa Susanna is very quite and not really much to do (especially for a 17 year old). We did take the train ride into Barcelona which is highly recommended.

No problem with the sun loungers, no rushing to get and there quite enough to go around.

At the quiet end of Santa Susanna, right across from the train stop. No noise from electric trains and ideal for trips to Barcelona or neighbouring resorts. Return to Barcelona cost about €10 each.
Hotel is spotlessly clean, staff very helpful and polite. Rooms cleaned every day. Breakfast was great with a big selection including pancakes and omelettes from the on-duty chef. They even had free sparkling wine for those who wanted a "champagne breakfast".
Evening meals had a reasonable selection that would satisfy even the fussiest of eaters, but it didn't vary much from day to day. You have to buy tokens in advance from reception if you want a drink with your meal, but the system worked OK.
Pool area was good with a booking system for loungers. Bar prices were a bit high, but most other hotels were similar. It was less expensive in the bars and pubs as you would expect.
Arts and crafts stalls set up on the prom outside the hotel every night; making it a very pleasant stroll into the main part of town and Malgrat.
A shame that you need to pay extra for the room safe and for a tv remote, but we survived without the latter. Who needs to watch telly on holiday anyway?
Make sure you take the tourist tractor-train into the hills at the old part of Santa Susanna...great value at only €4 for a round trip lasting over an hour.

Nice enough hotel, good decor and staff who warmed to us once we became familiar.
They charge for anything they can get away with (EG €5 to use the indoor pool, why?), and the drinks are really more expensive than necessary. Local cafes and bars are generally cheaper.
Wifi should not be an extra nowadays, especially when it doesn't work well in many parts of the hotel. The saving grace is that car parking was free.
The main outdoor swimming pool is quite small, so it's a shame that the beach is awkward to access. You have to walk quite a way and go under an unpleasant tunnel below the railway line. Don't even think about going to the beach after dark, it is isolated from the road and, as we found out, is a muggers paradise. We were mugged by 4 black guys from Senegal (we know this because the police actually managed to catch them and retrieve our stolen phone! Top marks to them). There are no warnings given about this, which really is inexcusable. We write this as a warning to anyone considering staying at this hotel, or any of it's neighbours.
