I was stranded when lockdown hit during a trip back from Africa and these guys gave me a room and lots of help - and even refused payment. The room was great, the pub is great - and their pizza is more than great.. Most of all though the people running the place genuinely care about their guests and the community. I'm working in Africa and visit the area sometimes, and I'll definitely be staying with them in the future. I'd recommend the Buck's Head to anyone, for food or for accommodation.
We visit The Bucks Head quite regularly and can't recommend it enough. Throughout 2020 the service has been to the highest of standards thanks to Liam and his team. Working in a pub myself I know how hard it has been this year for all in the pub trade. Food is always fantastic and the pub always has a welcoming atmosphere.
We had a lovely relaxed family lunch here. It’s warm and welcoming and reasonably priced. Our party enjoyed the delicious pizzas and burger/fries. Very dog friendly. Book to avoid disappointment even on week days during school holidays.
We went to the Buck's Head for lunch today. The place had changed its decor since our last visit , and also the menu. They now have a pizza oven, and serve a range of home cooked pizzas. They also have some interesting main courses plus several starters Marian is gluten free and was delighted to find her pizza could have a gluten free base. I settled for a steak and ale pie and chips which came as a complete pie, not as a casserole with a pastry lid ,which so often is the case . The food was excellent, the service was efficient and friendly. Really enjoyed the meal and will definitely return . Warmly recommended Terry K
