Beautiful self-catering country cottages situated in the heart of Yorkshire near Helmsley. Ideal for walkers, visiting Whitby, North York Moors, Scarborough and York. Cottage is clean, equipped, warm, cosy. Small tv with freeview. Phone signal very poor but excellent free Wi-Fi for internet connectivity. Mandy the host is really friendly and we loved the welcome cake. Saw in main house she had a plaque for "C4 Four in a bed Winner" and I would definitely give it 10/10 and stay here again.

We stayed for 5 nights in July just after lockdown in a cottage. Whilst I could not fault the friendliness of Mandy & her daughter in law, the peaceful area or the cooked breakfast each morning. I was a bit disappointed with the cottage itself (advertised as Luxury) I thought that after the cottage being empty during lockdown the it would have had a thorough clean. Unfortunately it was dusty & there were several cobwebs, made me feel I had to wash all the cutlery, cups etc before we could use them. The shower was very noisy once you had been in it a while & the hot tap on the bath ran to a dribble once the bath was a third full. There were several other small things too, but I don’t wish to go on. It’s a shame as it could have easily been made to be luxury.

Found the Fledgling Sheperds Hut on Air BNB at Laskill Grange. Booked for 1 night. Awesome place, great experience and facilities. If you dont fancy the Glamping Sheperds hut the other accomodation looks awesome too. On arrival, amazing welcome at the Laskill country House. Hosts Jen & Mandy, Fantastic Yorkshire folk. The place is immaculate and the "get away from it all" scenery was awesome. Highly reccommeded. The breakfast was first class. Quality produce, and I'm sure the Jam was homemade.

I had come here 3 times a child and was excited to come back again and bring my fiancé, my mum and step dad joined us on the Saturday. The cottage are exactly as I remember. We stayed in the Granary which had changed, I was a little disappointed as I thought 15 years later that things would have been updated. Yes I love the old features, which can still be kept but probably does need a revamp. We did also find that some aspects of the kitchen weren't very clean as we found the ice tray in the freezer covered in mold and oven trays that looked like they hadn't been wiped down. On the valentines day we went into Helmsley to La Trattoria! I highly recommened, delicious and not to expensive. We also went to the feathers on the Sunday for the carvery which I remember going to twice before. As lovely as the place is and the fond childhood memories, I don't think I would stay here again.

laskill grange is an amazing place, we received such a warm welcome before being shown down to our cottage. The smithy that’s sleeps 4 was a charming cottage, loads of room for two of us and our little pooch. The location is fab there are loads of lovely walks to do in the north york moors and then come back to a cosy warm cottage and enjoy the log burner. Wifi was excellent. We treated ourselves to going up to laskill country house for dinner where we served 4 course dinner that isn’t to be missed and was excellent value for money.we will be back
