Hubby and I stayed at Orchard Cottage for two nights recently and was a grand little place to stay. Suzie was very welcoming and greeted us with home made lemon cake and tea! There is only the one room so no other guests which means it is peaceful and very relaxing. The bedroom is a bit on small side but...

Susie is jolly d as is her splendid 1730s Orchard Cottage. This is a mixture of the traditional - open fires - and the modern - power shower and something newfangled called fi-wi. I don't know what that last one is but apparently one doesn't fi-wi and power-shower simultaneously. For breakfast one has lashings of fruit, toast with goat's butter,...

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Sad that it was only for a night... but from the warm welcome with tea and cake by the fire, to the super cosy bedroom, it was a great night! Really thoughtful touches everywhere to make us feel at home. Fantastic breakfast in the morning, and set in really beautiful surroundings. We're...

Thank you so much, Susie, for sharing your home with us. You made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Delicious vegetarian food, and cups of tea and wine offered whenever we came in, to enjoy in front of the fire, along with long conversations and tips about places to visit. A real home from home.

Orchard Cottage is charming period stone cottage in the picturesque village of Helmsley, walking distance from the centre of the village and a short taxi away from some superb local pubs/restaurants. Susie is a fabulous host. We booked a single night with her to get away for a birthday weekend, the plan was to escape, relax and see some of...

My fiancée and I stayed here on a Saturday night whilst visiting Ampleforth for a Christening. The host was very warm and inviting from the offset. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom of a high standard. Susie puts her heart and soul into offering an excellent service with a real attention to the smaller details. The breakfast on...

For our first visit to Yorkshire we decided on Helmsley and Orchard Cottage. Couldn't have chosen a better place for warm hospitality, comfy and warm bedroom, lovely bathroom with great shower, and the most delicious breakfasts, with something different every day. Susie is a gracious hostess, nothing is too much trouble. We hope to return at another time of year!

We had a wonderful 2 night stay with Susie in beautiful Helmsley. Orchard cottage is perfectly located in a quiet side street and was the ideal retreat away from the cold winter air. The room and cottage were immaculately presented and it was a real treat to relax with a cup of tea and some home made cake by a...

We have just got back from a 2 night stay at this really lovely B&B. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were made so welcome by Suzie who is such a thoughtful, lovely lady. The suite was spotlessly clean, really comfy bed for a great nights sleep, very quiet. We loved the decor in the cottage, lots of art work,...
