Travellers' Choice
We are situated just outside the picturesque Dales village of Ingleton famous for the Waterfalls Trail, limestone scenery, caves and fabulous walking country. A short drive will take you to Dent, Ribblehead and Kirkby Lonsdale. Our site borders the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is just over half-a-mile north from the entrance to the Waterfalls Trail and little further from the village itself - A pleasant walk along a quiet B road and footpath. It is a ten minutes stroll from the nearest pub serving good food and hand pulled ales. The nearest shop is Country Harvest just a couple of minutes walk away. All the 42 touring pitches are hard standing with 16amp electric hook-up included. Many are Super Pitches with their own freshwater tap and greywater waste on pitch. An amenity block central to the site houses the shower/toilet facilities with underfloor heating including a disabled wetroom, covered pot wash and a local information room. Complimentary fast site wide Wi-Fi is included in your stay A stream runs through the site, freshwater eels, small fish and bank voles have made this their habitat. The stream is unfenced; care should be taken with young children. There is a hail & ride bus service close to the site entrance for services to Kirkby Lonsdale, Settle and Skipton passing through Dales villages on the way. Families are welcome, however we don't have any open areas nor play areas, however the village play area is 10-15 minutes walk away! Dogs are welcome but are to be kept on a short lead. We accept Caravans, Motorhomes, Motorcaravans - sorry no tents Open 1st March - 8th November 2020 & 22nd December 2020 - 4th January 2021 Thornbrook Barn is a superb touring bases for visits to Hawes, Settle, Skipton and Kirkby Lonsdale. I would just like to write this review to say how amazing this site is. 1 Pitches are huge. 2 toliet block is so clean, warm and also has music playing. 3 Its got a dog friendly field. There's so many positives about this place. It's all covid safe. Sandra and Alan the site owners are so polite chatty and so helpful nothing is to much trouble. They are only a phone call away to help. I would highly recommend this site we will definitely return when it's safe to do so. Thanks Sandra and Alan

This site really is superb in every way. It is spacious and spotlessly clean. The pitches are the more generous I have experienced and the shower block is an absolute joy, with music and underfloor heating. The hosts are very friendly and excellent communicators - this site is their pride and joy and it shows. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Review from Barry - Pitch Red 21 - 1-4 November 2020.

We visited the site for a family holiday. The site is lovely, very well kept, toilets immaculate and extra measures put in place to meet Covid restrictions are very effective. Pitches are a good size, you do not feel like you are crammed in. The views are beautiful and local amenities are short drive or walking distance away. Our only downside would be the no heating in the awning. Our teenage daughter usually sleeps in our awning pod but this was not possible this time, although do not let this put you off because all in all this is a site we would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Thornbrook, one of the best layout and pitch spacing we’ve ever had. Although we mostly used our own facilities it was comforting to see the excellent system in place for the facilities to ensure COVID requirements were met. The only negative for us is the site rule about awning heating. I accept this is in the site rules but we didn’t actually take this in board until 2 days before our trip, our fault, but as we live in our awning this was a bit difficult for us, I appreciate that there is no charge for awnings, and how electric heaters fit in with this rule, but I don’t understand why we were not permitted our gas heater, which would have been at no extra cost to the site. Despite this though, we had a great stay and would return.

Have visited this immaculate caravan site a couple of times in recent months. The site although a few hundred meters off the main road you wouldn't know it once entering the site, its situated in a beautiful setting with stunning views of the Yorkshire landscape. The pitches are a generous size, giving a feeling of privacy and space. Every effort is made to maintain Covid safety to the point where water and electric hook ups are cleaned on pitches once vacated. There is an excellent system in place in the immaculate shower and toilet blocks. Local amenities are within walking distance and its an excellent base for surrounding walks and villages. The owners are friendly and helpful, the contactless system in use is easy to use and saves a lot of fuss on arrival. We wish the owners of this above excellent site well and we will certainly be returning . Thank you.
