I took an older friend to lunch at Wookey Hole and we had a most enjoyable meal. The fire was stoked when we arrived, good beer provided and we both enjoyed our tomato soup with toasted ciabatta, a generous bowlful. My friend enjoyed her sausage and mash (smaller portion) although she found the beans a little undercooked for her taste....

My husband and I - along with our dog - stayed in Room 1 at this excellent Inn. We received a really friendly greeting on arrival - where our case was carried to our room. The back garden was opened up for our dog to have a play. The bar was full of character - cosy, warm - with a...

After a 5 mile walk up to Ebbor Gorge from Wookey Hole we had a great meal at The Wookey Hole Inn. With 8 mouths to feed we decided to book and thank God we did, it was very busy and for good reason, very relaxed but great food and an attentive staff, good value and good beers too. All...

We were taken there by some very old friends who live just north of Wells. Outside it is an imposing building, willing you to come in from the minus 5degrees! Inside it was amazing with 2 big real fires burning and crackling as only wood fires can. The place was quite empty at first but, the atmosphere was just great....

We have spent many evenings at the wookey hole inn as a couple and with friends. It's a friendly place with a good selection of drinks and food. Try the scotch eggs they are fantastic. Log fires in the winter and a great beer garden in the Somer and warmer evenings. Parking and a lovely beer garden.

When you are away on holiday and you realise you are staying near friends you lost contact with 20 years ago, you need somewhere neutral to meet, that had got good reviews already. Now I have to add to them. Set in Wookey Hole is a pub that does fantastic ales, brilliant local ciders and food that would make a...

Staying nearby we thought we would try the local pub for food. It was fairly busy for a week night and had a great selection of ales and specials. We went for a scotch egg starter, followed by a goats cheese tart and fillet steak for main. All cooked perfectly and full of flavour. A great pub to eat and...

The food was good but the wait for it was unreasonably long. I could accept that for freshly cooked mains but how long does it take to put a slice of cheesecake on a plate? It was not worth the wait when it arrived, being oddly salty, and accompanied by rather chewy and way too "lemony" marshmallows.

Popped in for a drink while staying at the Wookey Hole Hotel (who don't have beer on draft) - gutted that we missed a trick here as the reviews look great for the food. The bar service was very friendly, we had a good chat with the chef as well. The inn is very cute and rustic, a great place...
